I have a Huawei Y9 2018 FLA-LX1 Kirin 659A with EMUI 9.1.0 9.1.0.186(C185E12R1P5) phone and I am trying to remove my stock rom to replace it with lineageos fdroid (my phone is ported and works with GSI too)
but I need to unlock my bootloader to do anything at all, and Huawei stopped giving out bootloader codes for their customers in 2018 so that isn't an option anymore
is there a way to unlock my phone? I don't care if I have to factory reset all I want it is that it should be free since I am a thirdie

hey guys i would like some assistance with unlocking my huawei y5 lite's bootloader so i can install lineage OS ..i contacted huawei and they said they no longer give users that privilege ,which forces me to attempt this the unauthorised way thanks to huaweis lack of cooperation..i have tried the ADB fastboot but that doesnt work..apparently i need a bootloader unlock code which huawei used to give out but now doesnt give out anymore..i initially bought it as a secondary device for this kind of stuff but it seems that was a terrible idea.. not a good idea buying a huawei if you want to modify your device later..can anybody help me out ?

As my title states I need a Huawei device currently in the market that allows me to root it. I dont mind If I have to pay for unlocking the bootloader as long as the job can be done.
I already tried rooting a P10 using the short pin methoth to unlock its bootloader. While BL was unlocked I was not able to proceed with root due to its up-to-date security patch ( I guess). I have also a Y9 2019 and an Honor 8X which botloader unlock method was not existing (again, I guess).
What devices are you suggesting?
AFAIK Huawei already in 2018 has stopped permission of boot-loader unlocking.

Thats true but I have seen several work arounds. Maybe one specific model can be easier to unlock than others.

The huawei website doesn' t work anymore and DC-Unlocker costs something
I 've tried a bunch of other methods but nothing worked.

Every other option is paid as far as I know. You should do some digging to see if you can find any free methods.

that tool from the video is basically just a ui for adb and fastboot and it asks for the unlock code.
Oh..
There's no other way then, you could try looking for one yourself, but I doubt there are any free options.

This worked fine for me (EVA-L09, Kirin 955).
I followed the video guide as well as the one for COM 1.0 drivers. I chose Kirin 950 in the dropdown menu. A quick google search shows the correct pin test point. The battery may need to be disconected.
I could finally give a new life to this phone!

That worked good on my P9 EVA-AL10, Kirin 955,
intall COM 1.0 drivers and PotatoNV,
Need to disassemble phone (be careful with it),
find the testpoint then short connect it and plug cable,
PotatoNV will detect phone, write unlock code,
after finished, will tell you the new unlock code.
Use new code to unlock bootloader,

fastboot oem unlock ***

After the Honor separated and sold by Huawei, isn't bootloader unlock official method for Honor devices still unavailable and won't it get back again? (For Honor devices which released after Honor separated and sold by Huawei)
So I wanted to unlock and root my honor 7a so I can install a custom rom and make it like new.
The only problem with it is that Huawei (honor is a sub-brand of Huawei) since 2018 realesed a security patch where its not possible to unlock the bootloader and some companies offered the code for unlock the bootloader but you gotta pay it and they are expensive. I have tried in many ways to get the unlock code, but didn't work plus I got an encryption virus where I got the 89% of my disk encrypted with the .mmvb extension.
Is there a way where I can unlock it without the code or having the code for unlocking it?
I'm not too sure, but you could look into some open-source project, a quick sypher through GitHub brought me to this repository.

You could possibly look into it and see if it would be of any help, I'm not able to test due to not having a device myself

Well, the best, fastest and safe way to unlock it would be with those paid services. You could also try using Potanov. Way riskier, but you do get the unlock code for free.

But potanov is not meant for mediatek cpu
Download TWRP from the Russian forum. Tell me, please, do you have an unlocked bootloader?
