Sony Xperia L4 custom rom - Sony Xperia L

Hey, I got Xperia L4 laying around and I was thinking of installing custom rom to it. I can't see this device on twrp or lineage os website. Has anyone owning this device have succefully installed a custom rom?

Me too. Doesn't look like I can find anything either. Did you get any joy, OkabeR001?

I would like to root my Sony Xperia L4 or install TWRP on it. If I want to root it via a PC or an Android app, it doesn't work permanently. The same with flashing. How do I go about flashing it? I can't get into fastboot mode and there's no other way. Would appreciate any guidance or help.

[Q] Rooting Sony Xperia Miro

Hi all,
I have tried to root my new Sony Xperia Miro (Vodafone UK). I have Android SDK and Superoneclick. Superoneclick gets stuck on "waiting for device" when I launch the rooting process (I have unmounted my SD). I have trawled Google, but I haven't found anything that helps.
The phone isn't listed on XDA, I assume, because it's hot off the press. Any advice would be appreciated.
Sincerely, Noob.

Do you need an unlocked bootloader for this?
Nope, at least, I hadn't. I pulled my Miro out of the box, set up the device with my Google account, and started the script. The first three times it failed, but the fourth time it worked. I suppose I didn't unlock the bootloader in the process.
I'll also try to see if I can. :cyclops:

I ran version 11 and got the first!!
Excellent!!
Many thanks to the developers!!
root miro
root didn't work on new firmware on miro :crying:
Sony repaired bug and now this tool dont work ..
You need to revert back to firmware 11.0.A.2.10 in order to root. I had my miro updated
to 11.0.A.5.5 but I was unable to root it. I reverted back to 11.0.A.2.10 (using flashtool
and ST23i_11.0.A.2.10_CentralEurope.ftf) and then I rooted it easily with "Root_with_Restore
_by_Bin4ry_v18".
If you are not planning on installing a custom rom, just flash it with a clear OEM 11.0.A.5.5
firmware so as to get rid of all the crap that came with your phone.

[Q] Help me update!

Hi i own several android devices all rooted and running well. Now i got this tablet from satan and i need help.
The device came with android 4.0.1 and someone did a unlock to the bootloader (can't update OTA). I did the nvflash guide and i was also able to root it. Now i just want to upgrade the device. I intalled a recovery via fastboot.. it wont boot to it. Tried to manually install a official update got a 'Failed to process command flash:system error (0xa)'. Seems like everything i try to do all i get is a dead end.
Please help me to upgrade this tablet to JB.. or any other custom rom. I would be happy if i could just boot to recovery.. lol
Thanks
by the way my other devices are nexus 7, galaxy i9300, xperia arc S (so i have some experience in rooting and upgrading, xperia was terrible also)

Should I root and unlock the BL?

Hey there!
I replaced my Xperia Z2 with the Z5. Both are running Android 6.0.1 at the moment and I used to root all my devices and install xposed framework, a recovery and I always unlock the bootloader in order to have access to custom kernels etc. I did that on my Z2 because Android M is the final version. However, the Z5 will recieve the Android N Update, I have already heard that the beta has started. Should I wait for the official update and then root and so on? Obviously I will have to install a recovery on marshmallow before I can flash a prerooted Android N zip...
Budy that's totally upto you. I'm Seafarer and was not having access to all these things, but the day I came home, the first thing I did with my device was unlocking it's bootloader and root it. Because you are going to get Android N update anyway and you'll be able to root that too.
So just go ahead with what you need right now and you think is right.
Regards.

Rooting Xperia L4 (+ custom rom)

Hi everyone, i'm looking for a way to root my xperia L4 but i found nothing. I tried kingoroot but it didn't work, screen displays "root failed" both with the PC software and with the apk. And for custom roms, is there anyone existing for this device ? I'd like to install android 11 on it, but whatever i search there is no results for this model particulary (LineageOS or others). Many thanks for your help.

I can't root my LG G3 S (D722)

Hello. I came to the forum for help with my LG D722. (LG G3 S)
As the time goes on with it, I wanted to install a custom ROM to my LG G3 S (D722) (AKA LineageOS), I heard that rooting the phone is the 1st step. I tried using the LG OneClick method but didn't work, I enabled USB debugging in developer options and installed drivers to my PC. If there's any other way to install LineageOS to my device or rooting it, please reply to the thread. It means a lot.
To install a Custom ROM it's NOT required that phone's Android OS got roted before.
You install a Custom ROM by means of a suitable Custom Recovery, not via ADB.
