How did you unlock bootloader?
Edit: Unlocked It with the vivo bootloader guide

Hello!
I want to unlock my bootloader and root my phone to flash a custom ROM. I have many questions regarding this:
1. http://www.howtogeek.com/239798/how-to-unlock-your-android-phones-bootloader-the-official-way/ This link has instructions to unlock bootloader the official way. It is written there that bootloader of some specific models of some phones might not be unlockable, and it told me to check on XDA developers. So is OnePlus X E1003 Onyx's bootloader unlockable? If not, it is written that I will need to use the unofficial method given at XDA developers.
2. After unlocking my bootloader using ADB, fastboot and all that, do I need to flash a custom recovery like TWRP, CloCkworks mod, etc. ? If yes, pls tell me where to find it and how to flash it!!
3. Do I neet to root my device before flashing a custom ROM? Also, how to root my device manually using adb? Should I use apps like Kingroot for rooting my phone. If yes, pls suggest apps other than kingroot! and also tell me how to root manually using zipped files!
4. What is the safest and ideal way to flash a custom ROM? As OnePlus X hasn't yet received Marshmellow update, is it advisable to flash CM13? Is there any OxygenOS v 3.3 Rom for Oneplus x?? pls helP!!

There are no less than 3 threads dedicated to rooting this device on Marshmallow that are tested and working... did all of them not work for you?
Yeah bro there is such kind of problem on rooting stock marshmallow ROM but I used kingroot v 4.8.2 for rooting if your bootloader is unlocked.

Never use a one-click root method on a Moto unlocked device... Seen way to many bricked devices, always root manually.
It is easy to find, there is a thread in my signature.

If you have current SuperSU and TWRP, and use the echo command to create /data/.supersu it will work, if it isn't please go to thread in my signature and provide details including:
1) Device model and Android version
2) TWRP version
3) SuperSU version
4) Output of 'cat /data/.supersu' from TWRP terminal
And a copy of recovery.log if possible, without more specific information there is nothing that I can do to assist you.

KingRoot? It's not working.
By Farmaroot... Install it...
Next, under the “Select an action to execute after root“, choose “Install Superuser“. Once done, click on “Gandalf” under the list of exploits.
Framaroot will take one or two minutes to root your device once it does, you will get a success message stating Superuser and SU binary installed in your device. It will also ask you to reboot your smartphone.
Just reboot your smartphoneto finish the rooting procedure.
stock firmware plss

Hello everyone,
My wife has a vivo Y71A, its from china and it has all of the chinese **** on there.
Im trying to root the phone so i can clear all of that off and install google play and other apps.
I am genuinely struggling with the boot loading and rooting process, does anyone have any suggestions, readings or guides for me, there doesnt seem to be much around for this phone.
My phone is vivo y71 i can't find device
Download your stock ROM and patch it using magisk manager. Unlock your bootloader and flash the patched_boot.img (rename it to boot.img before flashing) using cmd commands. I'm currently working on to port twrp v.3.3.1 to vivo y71. I'll let you know when i'm done!

Hello all xda members,
I am not new in rooting. I was rooting my phone since 2014. When KitKat and lollipop introduced. After I purchased the new redmi 8A dual, it's impossible to root with kingoroot and with others. So, I googled how to root Android 10 miui11. I found there is an app called magisk. So I installed it. Now, I searched more, I found that I have to unlock my bootloader in order to install custom recovery. I really don't wanna unlock my bootloader and custom recovery. I just wanna root for temporarily because I need to convert some application to sys apps.
Now,
I found that people doing another magisk way to root and is called 'patching boot image', . I patched my boot image and download the platform tool. Now, I am completely puzzled because I don't know what to do next! Some are saying I have unlock bootloader and some are rooting without unlocking bootloader.
If by patching boot image root is possible without bootloader then could you please write the steps! I am completely noob in magisk line.
Or,
Is there any way to root MIUI11 without unlocking bootloader? I really don't wanna loss my data.
Thanks for reading!

Your only chance of rooting without unlocking bootloader is to find a universal rooting app or PC program that has an exploit that works on your device. But, I doubt that there is an app or PC program that can root your device, those stopped working on devices with android versions newer than Marshmallow.
