My device is a One Plus One. I've installed an ADB driver from here: adbdriver (some site I've searched up on google) (Is this even safe? I've never seen anyone use this link before or maybe it's new. It's not a virus is it?)
So once I've installed it, I've typed all commands such as adb while my device is turned on but then when it gets to where I have to press my powerbutton+volume down and then go into the recovery screen, I see "Cyanogen Recovery" or whatever but that's what it says. Suddenly on my computer, the ADB device disappears altogether and I cannot see my One Plus One storage anymore (it's connected and even If I unconnect and reconnect it's still the same). I believe I've unlocked my phone already before so is this why? I just want to make sure and type fastboot oem device-info but when I type that nothing comes up. I've been trying to solve this and I don't know what to do anymore... Is it because I've already unlocked my device (but even I'm not sure if it's still unlocked and that's why I'm trying to confirm it by typing "fastboot oem device-info" which doesn't even work. Help please!

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. To get you the expert help you need, I'm going to move this thread to your specific device Q&A forum.
Good luck!
You need to boot into bootloader by pressing volume up + power.
Then you can use "fastboot devices" to see if your OPO is being recognised.
"fastboot oem device-info" only works when you boot to bootloader
ADB is not fastboot btw.
http://www.androidcentral.com/android-z-what-fastboot
ADB does only work when your phone is booted to the Android system and USB-Debugging is enabled

It's my first post on this forum, so I'm saying hello.
I've recently bought Nexus S which after turning on is stuck on Google logo, but I could enter fastboot and recovery. But it has locked bootloader. I tried unlocking it by "fastboot oem unlock" but it asks me if I'm sure and then i click yes it freezes (phone not fastboot). I tried it using different drivers, machines, operating systems, cables, but still nothing. Unbrick tool by AdamOutler says that "device not found". When trying to flash stock image by Odin on the phone there is message if I'm sure that I want to unlock bootloader but with nothing to choose, and after while it shows by red characters that system image was verified.
I don't know past of this phone. (I have no idea, which version of android was it running)
I'd be extremely helpful for any kind of advice.
Hi, I'm trying to unlock my phone so I can install Kali Linux on my A466BG. I've read a lot on the web but came to a problem. I've got Android SDK on my PC and installed platform-tools. My device shows up after entering "adb devices." I've enabled developer mode and usb debugging and OEM unlocking. My problem is...I can't unlock the bootloader and use fastboot. After pressing power and up volume I get into the menu (and I actually reset my phone to factory settings so I'll have more space) but I can't find bootloader. My phone shows up fine on my PC and under devices, but when I switch to the other menu (with reset options) it doesn't show up anymore. Not even under "adb devices." I tried entering "adb reboot-bootloader" but it just restarts and goes to the normal android phone screen. I tried "fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem device-info" and it says "waiting for device." I'm not sure how to boot into fastboot and unlock my bootloader. Or why my phone doesn't show up on my PC after pressing power and up volume. Please reply with instructions. Thank you
Hi, me again. I found a video on YouTube on how to install Kali Nethunter on Android phones. I got it and now I'm installing Metasploit. It's just the command line but that should work. Check You Tube on "Nethunter without root" if you want to know. Thanks
I'm back...Not satisfied with Nethunter on Termux. I would like to know how to root the phone and install Kali. Can anyone look at the above question and reply with how to root my Alcatel A466BG? I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
sorry if there is plenty of these threads already floating around but wasnt able to find a relevant one to my problem. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help.
This is the primary XZ rooting guide i have been following, with other supplimentary guides 1 & 2
These have been my steps:
- Managed to successfully update fastboot driver with "android_winusb.inf-file" from 'Google USB Driver' within android studio.
- Unlocked bootloader
- Installed AndroPlus Kernel sucessfully "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Now went to reboot device as stated by instructions (mistake) and now the device is not recognized in cmd "waiting for device". I've replugged the usb in multiple ports and the device shows up as "android" in devices and printers. I go to update the android "SOMC Flash Device" to the platform tools directory but makes no difference in cmd. Still "waiting for device". In Device Manager there is no sign of the device either.
When the phone is turned on it shows your device has been "unlocked and cant be trusted will reboot in 5 seconds" then proceeds to xperia logo and freezes. With no recoveries theres not much options.
Is there a way to continue from here or even return to a previous state? It seems like i hit a brick wall. Please help

Installed adb SystemWide?
adb drivers are Installed corrcetly? , better to reinstall them.
Happy new year! I was hoping to bring in the new year with root, but strangely with this version when ever I boot into "bootloader" from the recovery menu, the device screen is blank, and adb does not detect anything.
Would someone be gracious enough to provide a step by step root for this particular US variant? I can send you a gift card if you get me running with just root!
Thank You!
It's a $100 USD Gift card btw. I would send it to you via a direct message, or I can send you some crypto if you provide me your wallet should the root prove successful (for same amount). Thank you and have a happy new year!

On other thread you mentioned that `fastboot devices` gives nothing. I suspect that you are missing drivers for your device so try installing drivers first. Try these: Xperia 5 II driver - Sony Developer World ?
I saw that link before, but my device was not specifically listed. I'll try it anyway and hope that it works.
I boot into the "Fastbootd" menu on the phone, and then plug the device into my machine. when I run the "fastboot device" command I get:
fastboot: usage: unknown command device
When I then try the second method of connecting to fastboot (by holding down the volume up button while at the same time plugging the device in as per the instructions here: https://developer.sony.com/develop/...der/how-to-unlock-bootloader/#tutorial-step-2), the phone screen is blank.
I then try running the command "fastboot device" and I just get a "waiting for any device". Thanks for taking a look and let me know what else needs to be done!
Also I tried installing the drivers, and that did not work either. I still get the error "fastboot: usage: unknown command device"

Did you follow: Install OEM USB drivers | Android Developers ?
If so Can you see if device is detected properly in Device Manager?

I see the issue now, I've been typing "Fastboot device" instead of "fastboot devices". I managed to successfully unlock the bootloader! Now how do I go about achieving root access?
btw the screen is still blank when I plug in the phone via the "Volume Up + USB connect" way of getting access to fastboot, if that makes a difference.
Also as A WARNING for anyone following this thread, unlocking the bootloader immediately initiates a wipe of the device. I had no problem with that since this is a brand new phone that I just got and am trying to unlock. Also, I am on:
Android 10
Build #: 58.0.A.22.21

Follow this guide to get root access: [GUIDE][WIN10] Bootloader Unlock/Re-Lock, Rooting with Magisk and flashing Firmwares | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com)
As you have unlocked bootloader I believe you only need steps 25-27 to get root access.
Note: Read thread completely so that you can take backup if needed and also make sure you install all required things.

I'll try this out when I get back to my house. If it works, ill send you the gift card information. Please note that the gift card that I have works only in the US, so if you want to make some other arrangement, let me know.

Thanks! But I just wanted to help you out. I won't be taking any gift cards in return!
If you want you can donate it to some of these developers so that they can work on supporting more!
Cheers and Happy New Year!
It Worked! I appreciate your help, but I mostly just followed the link you provided from
Miustone. Thank you to him and you both! That Thread should definitely be pinned in the
"Sony Xperia 5 II ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Othe" section too!
Ill donate to Miustone, and have a happy new year!
EDIT: Darn looks like Miustone only takes paypal, which I don't have (I have crypto). Thanks again for the help everyone!
Quick Question, how do you tell which region firmware is on your phone?
Do *#*#7378423#*#* go to Service Info >> Software Info and you will get Firmware details

Hi to participants of this thread,
can you tell me how you backed up the DRM keys before rooting?

No because you can't
I also have Sony Xperia 5 II XQ-AS62 and I've found myself in a similar situation as burnsmotorcycle but I think it's because I have TWRP installed. More specifically, I see my device when I run "adb devices", I get nothing when I run "fastboot devices", and I get TWRP when I run "adb reboot recovery".
Does anyone know how I can uninstall TWRP? Please note, my device still has the bootloader unlocked, fastboot commands are unresponsive now that TWRP is present, and ADB and Magisk seems to be the only tools available to me right now.
