Hi all and merry Christmas BTW.
First, hope I’m in the right place/group, otherwise please redirect me.
I’m the happy owner of a Huawei P40 Pro, which is an awesome phone! I succeeded to downgrade from EMUI 11 to EMUE 10.1.0.131 and can now enjoy GMS!
Now an update version 10.1.0.176 is available! Any benefits from upgrading and will GMS stay intact?
Furthermore “they” state that it can be upgraded to EMUI 11, and GMS will stay intact and functioning when already installed…. any comments on that claim? Are there any major benefits by upgrading to EMUI 11, security wise etc.?
Sincerely
Søren Abildtrup

I will consider that it is C432 region.
You downgrade from EMUI11: From which version of EMUI11?
a. lower than 11.0.0.193 = that means phone has Fast Charge and transfer data between it and computer available => it is better to keep it on 10.1.0.131 but you can upgrade till maximum EMUI11.0.0.186 to avoid situation described at b.).
b. 11.0.0.193 or higher=that means it has no Fast Charge and transfer data between it and computer is not available => you have to upgrade till EMUI11.0.0.202 to gain back those 2 functions. Upgrade will be made from the phone menu (OTA) or from eRecovery (online). Do not upgrade to a higher version than EMUI11.0.0.230.
In both cases it is better to disable EMUi upgrades.
In all cases the functionality of GMS will be 50-50.
a. Could be errors => no downgrade to reinstall is needed. You will fix them on that firmware version (if you can).
b. Could not be errors.
Others details you can find here.
LE: You should downgraded to 10.1.0.121.
Hi again.
Thanks for your reply. What I can gather I will stay on 10.1.0.131

I'm already on version 11, GMS is stable and perfectly functioning, enjoy.
Well, reading about the success with updating to EMUI 11 I decided to go for it.
Running stable on 10.1.0.131 with GMS installed and working I have now updated to 11.0.0.223 and everything (including GMS) is running just fine.
THX for advice and comments and a happy new year to all of you.
Sincerely

I think you have to find the actual version for your device, degrade/sidegrade to that version and then googleify and update.
i can't find it even in firmware finder...
I have the same problem here! Did you managed to solve it? If not I still have my girlfriend's P40 Pro which is (C432E3R5P3) if you know how can I extract the FW just write me or leave me a link and I'll do it asap.
Update:
Just downgrade to the firmware ELS-LGRP4-OVS 10.1.0.109, it"s the last one from the firmware finder, right at the bottom of the page.I got my OTA capability back with it even if it shows C432E8R5P2 now, everything works as it should.
I think that R5 is the region indicator and only that matters I've gort the idea from opening today the Hisuite log files and it seems that it checks for updates by that "R5" so you should be ok by downgrading to that FW.
Hello,
Need help to solve OTA update.
I bought my P40 pro in Sep'2020 and installed Google in October '2020 with YouTube vedio by Redskull of Mr. Alex.
For your information that my P40 is running excellent, all banking, wallets, food ordering apps including all google apps running smoothly.
The only issue I have is that not received OTA till date after I installed GMS. My phone is on EMUI 10 and build number is 10.1.0.131 (C636E8R6P1). Is it that I have done some error on installing the GMS that restricted to get OTA update?
If possible please help me on this issue so that I can get EMUI 11 and other security updates.
Appreciate your help in this regards.
Thanks in advance.

I just bought a p40 pro and want to downgrade it to 10 as I'm on 11, so I can use googlefier on it. I have the HIsuite installed and that is all good there. When I click on update it says that the software is up to date, so I follow the guide and there isn't the option to click on Switch to other version to click on so what am I doing wrong? Any help would be great. Thanks.
Or I guess if there is another way to get Google services on emui 11 please tell. Thanks again.
I would like to update my Huawei Honor 6x to Android 10 but from the updates I don't have any recent available just the current version which is Android 7 that is not compatible with many apps
In order to upgrade your mobile phone system to the latest version, you may try to download & install the official Android Smart Device Manager tool, HiSuite, from the Huawei website. Hope it will be helpful for your Honor 6x.
Can I update from hisuite using a laptop ?
What you want to achieve is to UPGRADE the existing Android OS what can't be done by means of Hisuite tool.

Yes to update to Android version 10
From settings and system update I get no update available.
You are highly recommended to carefully read posts: Update is a patch to an existing OS, upgrade is a replacement of an existing OS with a newer version.

Hi, today I received the update to Harmony OS 3.0 on my Chinese Mate 30 Pro but have not installed it yet. It is more than 6 GB in size.
I currently have Google Services installed on my phone almost natively thanks to the method of the Spanish Eloy Gómez, which is actually the Googlefier.
Is there a risk of losing or altering these Google Services?
**********
And another question: Is this update to Harmony OS 3.0, which is actually the global EMUI 13, based on Android 10, 11 or maybe 12 ??

There is a risk, do not update yet to 3.0.
Some of us are suffering problems with the location services.

Not solved it.
I think it will never be solved it.
Huawei will soon be leaving any dependency on Android.
There is no way back.
