[Help][A8][Bootloop] - Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Questions & Answers

Good evening everyone,
I am writing to you because I need some help with my phone : the Samsung Galaxy A8.
Actually, I tried to install TWRP 3.6.0 on my phone through Odin, in the aim to install Ressurection Remix OS. I think it worked, I can now launch TWRP and navigate through the storage. However, it cannot launch android and it is stucked into a bootloop when I try to power on the phone. Moreover, in the TWRP menu, it seems to not be able to launch /data.
Please, could you help me to solve this issue ?

Try flashing the no-verity-encryption zip, wipe, and reboot.

Bricked M4 when trying to install CM13... just booting into Fastboot (or Recovery)

Hi,
This is a new Mi4w Global and I got tired of waiting to Marshmallow to come OTA so decided to try CM13 and seem to have bricked it. Please help!
I flashed latest TWRP (also tried CyanogenMod recovery), then I did the factory reset, wipe cache, flashed the CM13 ROM but it won't boot. Always flashes the Mi logo and then straight into Fastboot. I can still access recovery by holding volume up and power, but no amount of flashing the ROM seems to work. I've tried latest Stable and Nightly CyanogenMod ROMs.
Did I miss a step? One thing I remember doing which might have been the problem is while I still had the original Xiaomi recovery I opted to boot onto System 2 or whatever. I think I flashed recovery straight afterwards. I wonder if that is the cause?
Anyway, please help me! Many thanks if you can help me get my phone working again.
Update: In case this helps anyone else, I did manage to find an original Mi4 recovery so I flashed it and the I also flashed the official MIUI developer build of Marshmallow. Now my phone is unbricked. I would still like to figure out how to root it and install CM13 sometime, but at least I have a working phone for now.
It's simple, you selected system 2 before installing cm13, and two installed rom in system 1. Be on system 1 and try again.

Click to collapse
OK thanks. What is system 2 then, is that the "sdcard" partition? I had looked in both TWRP and Cyan recovery for an option to change the boot partition but couldn't find it.

Sprint Galaxy S5 stuck at Sprint Spark screen

Hello,
Hope someone might be able to help. I have a Galaxy S5 (sprint), it had been running slow so I wanted to just do a factory reset. So I tried that, and when it rebooted it got stuck at the spark startup screen. It won't go any further than that.
At this point, I would like to try Cyanogen or some other rom on it. But I can't seem to get anything to work.
I'm able to get into the download mode of the phone.
Is there anyone on here that give me some troubleshooting steps, and help on getting a new ROM installed and working.
I've been looking online, and see so much conflicting info or things that just don't work at least not for me.
Thanks!
Chris
go here and create a login. download odin, then go here and download OK4. Flash OK4 in odin. Then flash twrp 3.0.2-1 in odin, reboot into recovery, select reboot, reboot system, swipe to install supersu. Reboot. Download whatever ROM you want, factory reset, install the rom and its gapps (if CM based), delete the android folders in twrp under advanced/file manager, wipe cache and dalvik, reboot, profit

Help PLease

Hi,
I recently got custom rom- cm13 on my note 8.0 Gt-N5100. I wasnt able to use snapchat so I decided to use magisk,
I installed the magisk manager and it wouldnt open up and all my apps didnt respond. After a lot of reading articles and stuff i flashed the magisk zip through TWRP but nothing happened, I then flashed Super Su zip and now i am in this situation where The marshmallow boot screen just keeps popping up (i guess that is what is called as boot loop).I cant go pass the marshmallow loading screen. I wiped dalvik cache and did factory reset through TWRP. Is there anything I can do about this, PLz help.

Swiped right on NO OS INSTALLED

Hi there,
I was trying to install Lightheart 1.0 OS in my SM-G930F after having LineageOS 17.1 installed for some time. I flashed the ROM and also Magisk (although I couldnt flash Gapps as Error 20 appeared). Both the ROM and Magisk seemed to flash ok. After doing all of that, I went on and, although I saw the message of NO OS INSTALLED, I swiped right as for some reason I though that it was gonna be installed anyway (or smth, idk too much about this :silly:.
Now the phone is stuck on the initial loading SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 page, without TWRP access nor download mode access (prior to flashing, I erased DALVIK, CACHE, DATA and SYSTEM). I have tried to flash TWRP with odin, but as there is no download mode access, I had no luck.
I´m reading more about what could I do, however right now I´m a bit lost and I dont know what are my options.
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.
EDIT: no need of help anymore.

Reflash phone's Stock ROM to get rid off of all modifications you made so far.
yes it is, but I want to install twrp, and it runs normally, not stock recovery, how do you do it
