Button power issue - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I have unlocked the bootloader and since then the power button does not respond :-(
It works because I can turn on the tablet but otherwise impossible to use it, both on the bootloader and on android
I have tried all the manipulations (back to stock rom several times) but nothing works
I can't lock now the bootloader because it's impossible to confirm...
I'm not sure where this is coming from and if there is a solution to this problem.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me

Having the same problem I have SPL-3.03 HSPL & trying to downgrade to SPL 1.66 but won't go into Bootloader. I've tried an 8gb, 4gb & now 1gb card the file has been renamed in the root to LEOIMG.nbh but just get the tri colour screen. Pressing reset button & holding end call & Vol down button.
This is the right file to rename from HTC?

Make sure you are not using the USB cable while trying to enter bootloder. I had the same problem, but once unplugged the cable all was fine.
I'm having a similar problem. I reflashed to the HSPL, no problem. I then used the Rom UPdate Utility, which claimed it had updated my ROM to version 2 (although it took a fraction of the 10 minutes, it said it would). When I now try to boot the phone to install the rest, doesn't matter how much I hold the power key (which I presume is the 'make call' key, as that powers the phone up), it refuses to do anything other than boot to the O2 Welcome screen. I'm noticing the replies aren't very helpful here. Is this what I can expect for the whole forum? As a newbie, I can't make posts on the developers forums, so I can't ask them if they've come across this before. It seems a bit pants, to be honest!

Hi Junks,
The THREE COLOUR SCREEN is BOATLOADER this is FIRST BOOT LOADER or (I Think) the name is H-BOOT. You have to correct ROM for HTC HD2, but CMIIW the rom is for HTC HD2 T8585 (WWE) with 516 Internal Memory. Is your HD2 this Model or another Model famous with name TMOUS (T-Mobile Edition) with 1024 Internal Memory. I believed if you still have tricolor screen easier to "wake up" your phone.
Im haveing the same problems please someone help... a Demonoid invite code is all I have to offer here

HD2 is most great device. what is actually happened. You can brief here what you did before and some background of your HD2, what u have flashed in and what is inside, the more clue probably will help others to point a good thing for you. If No boot loader is the device totally "death"

I usely use SD Builds, but I installed DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF,HSPL4,MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M,NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.7_NAND__Android-2.3.4__update and wifi-calling-htcleo-gb-20110518 ( Yes I just copy and paste the file names lol) My phone was working fine (Not sure about the bootloader/Tri-color screen) untill a few days ago my android build boots in safe mode I did find a remedy for that and thats by pressing and holding the Call (green), Home and Windows keys down while the android boots, but I have to do that all the time now. What I am trying to do is restore it back to fatory settings. Oh yeah BTW the AMAGLDR bootloader dose boot and also CWM Recovery but while In the aMAGLDR I have to hold the back key to press vol. up and down other wise it will keep moveing back to the top of the list (Its been like that sence I installed MAGLDR) but I do not have any problems with the vol up and down key in any other programs. I am also able to use USB Flasher and any other mode besides Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows 7). I also tried gettng into Sync by installing Windows phone 7 (witch installed fine with USB flash (Useing MAGLDR) but not luck with syncing back to WM6.

Hi. I've tried that combination of keys & I just get the O2 Welcome screen. The only key combination that works is when I power up with the Vol Down key held. I then get the tri-colour screen.
Don't know if this helps but.....
When I get the tri-colour screen, I have the following text:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0X05
CotullaHSPL 0x40

(Possible Brick) Power button not work, bootloader freeze, device turns on itself

Okay, so here it goes:
- Been trouble with "sudden loss of mobile network issue" for a month or so (ref: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/mobile/android-devices/NCwPW3A_ibM http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=14672 )
- So I flashed to 4.0.4 stock image from the google website, a. Everything worked so well, and I got my signal back. I followed these guides (http://floatingsun.net/articles/howto-flash-gsm-galaxy-nexus-to-google-factory-image-on-mac/ http://forums.androidcentral.com/ne...ide-factory-image-restore-your-nexus-7-a.html) and they worked for me well (again).
- I wanted to lock and reunlock my bootloader again from fastboot. Locking process goes well. But when I tried to unlock my bootloader, after that yes/no screen my computer went dead. And my phone freezes on the bootloader. I pulled out the battery, and then put it in.
Magically, my phone booted by itself (without me touching the lock button). And the OS loads up seamlessly. Everything inside works well, except the power button. It's unable to put the device to sleep or even bringing the power menu. I rebooted several times via ADB, still no change.
- Maybe it's hardware problem, so I turned off my phone via ADB, and it's always turn on again right after. Then I tried to pull out the battery, and nope.... still turning back on. At one chance I pulled the battery, and immediately pressed the Power button and Vol Up, so it'll boot to bootloader. The bootloader boots that way.
- Yes, bootloader boots, but fastboot wouldn't recognize my phone. Plus I can't use the vol button and power button in the menu. It just freeze. typed "./fastboot devices" didn't give me any feedback. rebooting the bootloader via fastboot always prompt the < wait for device > endlessly.
- Upgraded to JB 4.1.1 OTA via software updater, no change on these 3 issue.
SUMMARY:
1) Power button not working, both in bootloader or in OS. But putting phone to bootloader by using power + vol button works, so I guess it's not hardware..
2) Bootloader freeze, fastboot works fishy. Cannot do anything here. (see above)
3) Everytime I turn off, it always turn back on.
I appreciate to those who read all above carefully. Thanks. I hope I can find answer.
SOLUTION(S) to try:
1) try sdk in windows at home. I'm using mac at the office. (I guess it's just the same) NOT WORKING
2) Try this tool at home (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672708) NOT WORKING
3) last and least; go to samsung repair service
DEVICE INFO:
i9023
IMEI ok
BASEBAND: i9023XXKF1
BL Version: i9020XXLC2
kernel: stock
Build Numb: JRO03E
Tried solution #1 and #2, still same response. On command prompt still displayed < waiting for device > endlessly :/
Any advice?
Broken power button. It's a hardware issue, not software. It's a known issue that when the power button breaks on the Nexus S it stays as "pressed" and you cannot scroll in bootloader and you cannot use fastboot.
What do you want to achieve anyway? Unlock your bootloader? Might I ask why you locked it in the first place?

I see... just found the culprit a few hours ago.
I wanted to restore it to factory default, following this guide.

Fastboot stuck

Hey ppl.
I got a Nexus S and his power button does not work for a week now. Since i got it still on warranty i decided to get it to samsung service.
I was using SlimBean so it was ok with volume rocker as a wake the device action. Since Samsung wanted the phone to be stock and locked i decided to do it. I found the stock rom, i flashed it, and here is when the problem started. I flashed the rom the way i flashed every other "custom" rom, via ClockWorkMod. Then, trying to also lock the bootloader i found this. I installed the device drivers again etc etc and when the program says "Checking Fast Boot Status" everything stops. The phone is not responding (can't move up and down with volume roker) and i have to pull the battery to reset it. Thankfully when i put the battery back in the phone starts up itself so no need for power button
So what can i do? Whats wrong with my bootloader?? Is there any way to install a custom recovery again, to have a rom with volume key unlock and leave the power button as it is? (reminder : phone is back to stock and no superuser, cwm or anything)
Appreciate any help !

[Q] Boot Lopp + No Power Button

Hey guys, I just got the older HTC One S (C2) from my sister , to play a bit around.
I rooted, unlocked without any Problem, but after flashing it just stuck in a bootloop . And I can't even escape.
Unfortunately the power button is broken and i can barely turn it on by making contact with a pin needle (works rather badly)
ADB won't find my device, and even pressing all buttons the same time won't change a thing.
Anybody got an idea or some other plan?

Beg your sister for not doing to you what you did to her phone...
Your phone will power of by pressing "Power" for 10-15seconds. Is the button itself GONE? How? Once powered of press or in your case "jumper" the "power button + Vol down" at the same time. You can release power when display turns on and just keeping "Vol down" pressed will bring you into bootloader.
You will have to try getting to fastboot. Or pay 40€ for a bootloader repair. There is no other way :/ for
As you did not tell anything about S-OFF you're probably S-ON. So you may be forgot to flash the kernel???
If flashing means you flashed a custom rom. Bootloader is working in every case.
May you post some more infos?
-Firmware / HBoot
-Recovery version
-rom/KERNEL installed
-any other modifications?
Did you face any issiues while flashing?

[SOLVED][Q][HELP][HOW TO] Unable to bypass unauthorized device

HI there.
I'm really looking forward that someone may be able to unbrick my phone or at least navigate me how to turn back bootloader, using command-line, as this would solve the whole problem.(unauthorized device + Bootloop + hardpressed volume UP button, occuring problems on the other one as well) :crying::crying:
Device, OS, Settings status: HTC VILLE (S4), Fully rooted, CM11s stable, S-OFF, SU, CID 1111111 , TWRP 2.8.1.0 hboot 2.16, ADB: xxxxxxxxxxx unauthorized device :highfive:
Actual status: After i recovered clean copy of my CM11 from TWRP (was trying some custom roms, which i didn't fully met my expectations), i decided for the first time to use Titanium Backup Pro and restore all user and system apps, settings and data which i perfomred earlier, what found out not to be the smartest move. Either way, after approx 24h my phone went down, restarted itself, unfortunatelly only as far as Bootloop
Everything would be just fine if i could just get back into bootloader. Additional problem i mentioned before is my volume button. It works but not 100%, after my phone felt down on it and vol up is hard pressed and sometimes it jams. This leads us to another (minor? :crying problem that appeared during normal use of device. Namely due to this hardpressed VOL UP button sometimes i couldn't even turn off the screen with power button (which is perefecly working if )
Concluding i`ve stuck on Bootloop. Whenever trying to turn on the bootloader with multiple combinations of pressing vol + power button, phone just restarts again. (i did that many times before without any problems) . However i'm able to turn it off sometimes
My main problem for now is with unauthorized device under ADB so i can`t neither start recovery nor bootloader using command-prompt line.
Is there any chance to bypass this unauthorized status in ADB? or should i look after new handset ? Hope that someone will be able to help . I'm willing to give away my endless gratitude full support and even reasonable amount of gold stash

It turned out everything was fine, I was unable to start bootloader because of hardware malfunction, and being more specific, hard-pressed Vol Up Button was sending signals and because of that The combination of Vol Down Button + Power brought no results. Once I lifted gently Vol Up Button with thin sharp tool, i was able to start bootloader Hope, this information will save some stress in the future. I wasn't fully aware of, thinking that if Vol Down Button was perfectly fine bit hardpressed Vol UP button shouldn't occur malfunctioning of the other button
