What stable A12 ROM for one plus 7 pro - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a European 7pro running stock A10.
I would like to flash a A12 Rom.
What is the most stable Rom at the moment.
I assume the following
Bootloader needs to be unlocked.
I need twrp for back up
Do I need magisk to install?
ROMS come with gapps.
When I tried to flash a custom rom about a year ago I got it to work but no matter which rom I used it would not recognise the sim card and v therefore I couldn't use it as a phone and use mobile data. Please advise which one and a guide. I just want the basic A12 features I don't need anything fancy. Just bored of stock A10 and would like some additional functionality of A12.
Thanks Bart

Downgrade from MIUI 10 Global 9.2.15 Beta possible?

Hi all!
I'm running the mentioned ROM at the moment and I'm having several problems (GPay not working, Netflix not working, ...) so I want to go back to a standard MIUI version.
Can I flash the official global ROM via TWRP on my device? Or won't that work or brick my device?
Otherweise can I flash any custom ROM like Pixel Experience or Lineage without any problems over the actual ROM?
Hi. yes you can install the miui rom via twrp. we must take the version in .Zip and not that of fastboot. then if you want to use gpay, you must reblock the bootloader. me, I would prefer to use miflash to install the original rom and it also allows to reblock the bootloader by checking the box.
With relocked Bootloader, I cannot install any other Rom like Pixel experience or Lineage, correct?
I GPay only working with Stock Rom?

yes, if you reblock the bootloader, you could no longer install custom rom. it will unlock the bootloader again. but if you want to use gpay on a custom rom, you have to install magisk.

proper way to use TWRP and clean flash rom?

New GM1915 T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro user here...
I seemed to be out of the loop since the release of AB partition, android 10 and so-on...
I did everything here says, unlocked the bootloader, unlocked the sim, converted to international, twrp, and root...
[GUIDE] How to convert TMobile OP7 to International.
First of all this is not my work I only tested theirs. Credit to themustached for finding that a patched .ops was the solution. This guy doesn't even have the damn phone yet and did this for us so show some love. You can donate to him through...

and when I want to try other rom or revert back to OOS stock, I missed up and brick a the phone 3 times already....each time I have to use MSM tool and flash the rom to Android 9.x...which is missing something twrp needs, So I need to do a OTA update to Android 10.x before I can install twrp and root.....
Q1: say I have a working system at android 10, twrp and root, If I want do a clean flash of the rom, do I now only wipe the (user data partition in the twrp advance wipe) or the (data wipe that you will need to put type yes and wipes everything)?
Q2: is there an updated T-Mobile .ops file to use with MsmDownloadTool? So I can restore to android 10 in 1 step?
Thank you
Looking for an updated .ops file as well my phone is bricked with android 11 and can't seem to get msmdownloadtool to work with my bricked oneplus 7 pro

RN8 Questions

Hello friends. I have Redmi Note 8. I'm currently using the latest Indonesian rom, but it hangs a lot and has performance issues. I have a few questions regarding rom and root.
-Do we need root access to recover and install roms? Can't we directly flash the recovery and then install the rom and use it?
-Will there be any certificate problems in google play and problems in banking applications with a rooted and ROM device? Can we use the rom without root?
-What is the best custom rom you recommend? Android version doesn't matter. I'm not looking for customization, just stable and error-free. I am waiting for aosp and other roms that you will recommend. Thanks.
1. To install a Custom ROM phone's Android must NOT be rooted.
2. As soon as phone's Android got rooted or a Custom ROM got flashed you may run into troubles when using banking / payment apps.

Question Custom rom for A32 5G

any update on any custom roms for Samsung SM-A326B 5g
i cant find any online and its taken my a while to unlock the oem lock, root and install twrp but again im in a boot loop as cant find a custom os to flash.
Any recommendations and links please?
as i dont have a os, and if there are no stable custom roms, is it possible and safe to flash stock BTU-A326BXXS3AUH3-20210830165820.zip from TWRP and if that is would i keep magisk root or need to install stock and then root (magisk apk) again ?
Thanks
Some GSI can work with some bugs.
You can not flash stock firmware through TWRP. You should have Odin on a PC, extract original firmware and follow stock firmware instructions.
Once you flash stock, you have to check whether OEM is unlocked and flash recovery again and obtain root if you prefer.
Flash U1 XAA with Odin mod if you havent, and make your own custom rom by careful debloating. Make incremental TWRP backups every change.
I gained about 500mb more available memory. Totally debranded. Tons of mods and tweaks. Then use kernel manager like Franco to use per app settings so you can change governor per app. Runs Gamecube 3ds and PS2, even booted a Switch game if you like emulators (they are a pretty good benchmark regardless).
Always make backups, especially when you dont want to, and keep a base on your pc, and whatever you do:
DO NO ROOT WITH NEWEST MAGISK. Use 23.x.
*I have a post where I debloated. Look at the last post for a debloat Ive been running for months now.

Help making a Backup before installing magisk+twrp OP8 IN2015 - already unlocked bootloader.

Hello! I've been rooting and installing custom ROMs for years but it's been a long while since I last did it, I got a oneplus 8 global (IN2015) late last year, unlocked the bootloader as soon as I got it out of the box since I knew eventually I would want to flash some stuff. but I have kept it stock this long. Running latest Oxygen 11 android 11
Since I want to start flashing some kernels or roms I wanted to ask about making a backup since I've never had a phone without sd card slot where I would usually store backups.
Can I still use titanium backup to keep all of my apps/data/photos/videos and the state they are in, store it in my pc , then go about flashing a custom Rom and then bring my titanium backup back into the phone and restore everything?
since I'll be installing custom roms based on android 11 I believe it will be fine with no conflicts? or does it matter that my apps were installed in Oxygen OS?
that's what I used to do with older phones anyway. is there a way to flash a rom while having the titanium backup still in storage since most roms require full whipe when clean installing them?
Recently twrp added official support for OP8 and when I open the official app it recognizes my phone as instant noodle but when I click search for phone it says it can't connect to the server? should I flash official twrp from the app or via fastboot? which I'm also quite rusty with.
any tips for a step by step would be appreciated
Hello, I was in the same boat as you since I came to the OP 8 from a Galaxy S4. Titanium backup should work for what you want to do, as long as the custom rom is also based on A11 (disclaimer: I haven't tried it; I'm running rooted stock OOS 11 with a custom kernel). If the rom you want to install requires a data partition format, you can't keep the backups there during the flashing process. If it only needs a data wipe / factory reset, everything in the sdcard directory (also known as /data/media) should be preserved.
I'd say just flash TWRP in fastboot. Flash it to both recovery slots, and read up on how flashing works with A/B slot devices if you aren't familiar, since you'll need to know about it when flashing roms also. It's a big difference from what I was used to with older devices.
Thanks for the reply, yeah I was thinking of just going with a custom kernel since I have so much stuff going on the phone I find it really a chore to backup, but still might want to try it.
What kernel are you using and how are you liking it ?
