To install larger GSI images we have to either ditch the product image or system-ext image. I chose to get rid of my product image and that doesn't seem to have much of an effect on GSI. Product contains the changes for individual SKUs of the device but since that doesn't affect hardware directly, that isn't a surprise. I'll post instructions on that later.
Issues:
Code:
Notch Placement
IMS
VoLTE
VoNR (5G)
SMS over anything except 2G
I'll be working on fixes for GSI but I need help testing and discovering issues.
I had the official Google 12 gsi installed for about an hour. Had an issue where it didn't properly save files to internal storage. Seemed to be a common problem for all treble devices, so I'm back to stock +magisk.
Edit: back to stock firmware cuz I messed up playing with magisk, and now I can't flash anything except stock. I get the can't resize partition error, even if I delete product partition
Running GSI 12 Never going back to Android 11.
This GSI here..and please give credit and thanks to them.. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gsi-unofficial-12-pixel-experience.4354695/
Has transformed my phone into a pixel...running Android 12..
Now there is bugs and some compromises one has to accept if you want this rom as a daily driver.
Working.
Edit Volte MMS fix (see post #22)
5g,lte,2g,(3g till carriers pull the plug)
Wifi
Bluetooth comes on and connects.
Magisk Alpha, Canary, 23.0
R/W script
GPS
In call volume
In call audio
Pixel goodies launcher etc...
Google camera video and pictures
Torch
Fingerprint pin and pattern
Viper4droid preinstalled under misc features
Dolby Digital Plus
Headphone
More
Bluetooth
Google Pixel Always ON DISPLAY with clock animations
Custom kernel works on ROM
Live Caption
Notification Light
Battery Manager (Highly Improved Battery Life)
Cons
Calls, mms, sms over 2g,3g only (working on it)
No moto gestures( I only use the chop for flashlight) workaround,,,app called "gravity
gestures" works perfectly.. Magisk Module "xmlpak' allows to download vendor apps.**
Other than that it's my daily driver.
I use a free text app for calls and mms and sms over my 5g network so thats a temp fix for that.
Edit
Being on a12 versus 11 is night and day..
Thanks o.ps for a great gsi rom

GSi Pixel 12 Update!!
I have calls working (incoming and outgoing)
I backed up my efs folder via twrp on fresh stock rom. Did a restore of the efs folder via twrp while on Pixel GSI android 12.
I saw the files in /etc/permissions folder and in /vendor.
Now I believe the persist partion needs to be backed up. I'll try to also back up the persist.img and see if it fixes the volte mms issue.
Now that we have orange fox recovery I'll play around with both recoveries.
I also backed up the vendor.img and product.img to internal sd card
download folder
adb shell

Every time I install a GSI I get "No valid operating system could be found." maybe it would be helpfull to make a tutorial how to flash and install Magisk ( if it really works)??

I followed magisk install precisely and even cooked my boot.img with superr's kitchen so I'm pretty sure I have found a bug with magisk, which by the way is the beta version 15.3(1531) here . My findings so far require me to dig deeper and send in some logs from a twrp install attempt to the magisk dev.

Nope, you can't. LTE Bands are hardcoded on ALL devices and can't be modified.
MT6763 supports lte band 5 and band 40 , band 41, but firware doesn't allow it why?? False info given on official site that it suppports volte, it doesnt my previous leeco le 2 used to support volte for my sim, this one wont, it only supports data.....and most of the time switches off automatically in idle mode(when not using) every time i have to start again, but if screen is on it wont get switch off automatically, really this is weird phone...any solution??

The chipset doesn't matter, the manufacturer provides a list of the supported bands, picture attached below. You must have checked it before.

As regards VoLTE, even though it supports it, it doesn't necessarily mean that your carrier accepts it on its network.
Ok but what may be the cause for auto switch off....if v get custom rom will v get other band support??
Thank you very much for your interest,
On my OIKITEL K6,
after inserting SIM card in slot 1,
I did it like this.
1.setting
2. more
3.mobile network
4.APNs
5. + (new APN)
6.editing : Name
7.editing : APN
8.editing : MMSC
9.editing : MMS port
10.editing : MCC
11.editing : MNC
12. tap 3 dots at top right
13. tap SAVE
and there's only one list of EMERGENCY CALL, and no list what I just saved.
So, I changed another SIM card which is working on another android smart phone, and it happens same situation.
And when the SIM card is moved into other (originally used) phone, it works well.
Two SIMs are same.
My SIM card also works well at my former android phone at now.
Please give me some more TIPs...
Thank you.

I started fiddling even more with installing GSI-A partitions roms into the Ulefone Armor 6 as of today. Here's how you install GSI-A roms. I have tried roms from Android 8-10 official & unofficial. Lineage, RR, Pixel Experience, & etc...
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible if you damage, brick, or willingly alter your phone in any way shape or form blah blah blah, you get the point.
I did not fully test with 100 certainty these GSI-A roms below. Even the ones below that I did test have many bugs/issues. The ones below were the ones that booted correctly for me. Test at your own discretion. Some of these roms wont have SU & GAPPS.
Prerequisites:
Make sure you have an unlocked bootloader.
Make sure your phone has, TWRP installed.
Make sure you have drivers installed, here.
Fastboot & ADB tools, here.
Rom's I've tested & boot on Armor 6:
Android 10
1. (AOSP) Android 10 by phhusson
2. PixelExperience 10.0 BETA by ExpressLuke
3. Havoc OS 3.0 by ExpressLuke
Android 8
4. Resurrection Remix by phhusson
Any other GSI-A roms being supported can be found here, feel free to try out your own if you feel like it.
Installation:
1. Place your device in, "Fastboot mode"
2. Open up command prompt (cmd) on your computer, cd into the folder where fastboot & adb is in, and type, "fastboot erase system"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now flash the GSI-A image to your Armor 6 system partition. "fastboot flash system (what ever your system name).img"
4. This following command will format userdata & cache. "fastboot -w"
5. Last but not least step using fastboot, is to reboot your device. "fastboot reboot"
Now, pay attention.
When you flash the system image to your device, it only flashes the minimum data size that comes with the image. You have to reboot into TWRP, Resize /data partition & format to EXT4 to get the full 128GB partition size.
6. Boot into TWRP. To do this, power off the device and press both the, "Power button + Volume up button" at the same time during which you should see the bootloader menu. To move between options to have to press the volume up, until you are hovering over, "recovery" option. Then press volume down, to select recovery and boot into it.
7. Select the, "wipe" option.
8. Select & check mark, "Data" first, then secondly, select, "Repair or change file system."
9. Resize the data partition.
10. Now change the file system format, to, "EXT4"
Now reboot the phone
That's all there's to it. Not all GSI-A images will work, if they don't work, the developer of that GSI-A has to make it so. Good luck.

The AOSP 10 by phh, has a bug that I came about, that my computer couldn't detect my Armor 6 device. So unless you have a wireless app, you cant transfer files locally as of this version.
Pixel Experience has a bug, that you have to register your device as a custom rom with google. Otherwise the device can't download Google Play Store apps. I am currently running this version. I'm testing it more. I didn't test Havoc completely, but it doesn't come with Google Play Store.

Unlocked the bootloader (After flashing to stock once) and flashed the following roms. Device is 6E:
PixelExperience
Resurrection Remix
UltraSuccRom
Bootloop on every one. All were ARM64, A bootable.
Interestingly, I couldn't get TWRP to boot/stick this time, either. Perhaps the official image is different? I have flashed to stock again and will go through the process of obtaining root. I will report back if flashing recovery with the TWRP app is successful.
[Update] TWRP installed through the TWRP app and can be booted through adb. I was able to successfully bypass DM-Verity. Attempting to boot into TWRP using key combinations apparently results in a system hang. I Will attempt flashing images with TWRP next.
[Update 2] No success with TWRP or Fastboot. Returning to stock...
does anyone have a link to dm verity to armor 6? thanks

My guide is for the Armor 6.
If I am not mistaken, I believe the Armor 6E has an A/B partition scheme. You can always check with the Treble Checker app on stock OS.

Nice! I'm so glad it worked!
Have you found any ROMs with working speakers? I haven't found any where the ringer or speaker is working.
Well, RRemix of this link was just the "bios screen", did I do something wrong?
I was able to install the latest Pixel Experience BETA and apparently it is working, I will test it in the next few days, USB is working normally.
update:
Not working NFC, Google Chrome, Rear Speaker, instagram and facebook videos lock the image and only play the audio.

Anyone tested the latest havoc 3.0?
updates:
-PixelExperience 10 ExpressLuke 28-10-2019:
fluid, a more stable, speaker does not work, nfc does not work, bluetoth works, headset works, insta / face videos only plays audio, some apps do not work, is the best I have tested;
-PixelExperience 10 ExpressLuke 16-10-2019:
unstable, not registered with play protect, speaker doesn't work, headset doesn't work, crashed and couldn't test anymore;
-Havoc 3.0 latest 10-11-2019;
fluid, less stable than pixel, no gapps, nfc apparently works, no speakers;
-RRemix phhuson gapps:
it's just the ulefone boot screen
-Evolution, Havoc2..9 and RRemix 7.0.3:
bootloop
I could not download any rom hosted on GitHub, very bad server, but I am going back to Stock while not updating update for PixelXP, I could not boot any rom from android 9 and all that flashed openGapps bootloop
edit:
If you are testing and finding solutions, please give feedback.
any android pie working well?
Are all Armor 6 devices without sound or only some? The 6E has sound on both AOSP and PixelExperience, if that information helps at all with figuring out the problem.
Observed issues with GSI images for 6E users (Tests ended November 9th):
-Spazzy GUI elements, specifically gifs and videos embedded in apps (It's pretty funny though)
-Extremely inaccurate battery charge reporting (Especially on PixelExperience, possibly unsafe)
-Cannot receive incoming calls (I'm on Verizon's network, which shouldn't be working to begin with, so your mileage may vary)
-Only boots once. Clearing the data partition is necessary to boot again.
-Screencasting (Doesn't work on stock either)
Observed working:
-Bluetooth audio
-Graphics processing unit
-Storage access on Windows over USB
-External Speaker and headphone output
-Camera and flash (Makes an audible click when closing on both GSI roms and stock. Strange.)
-All Play Store apps (That I tested)
-SMS, outgoing calls
The more information we have out there, the closer we get to... whatever we're trying to accomplish. Best of luck everybody.

* Adjusted size and position of Fingerprint Scanner icon to match stock
* Fixed position of Keyguard so the Emergency call button is no longer covered by FP icon.
* Fixed issue when you would wake the device and tap the lock screen the Fingerprint Icon with shift either left or right a few pixels
* Adjusted the color the fingerprint icon lights up when pressed to match stock values, Increases the speed of finger detection considerably
* Fine tune the size of the status bar (it was a little wonky)
* Removed the hack to re-add Face Unlock now that Fingerprint Sensor is working
* General cleanup and housekeeping.
* Any and all changes merged to LineageOS as of Sep 8th
Aug 29
* FINGERPRINT SENSOR IS FINALLY WORKING!!!!! This took me no joke, 100s of hours to figure out. I honestly thought it was a lost cause. There a a couple cosmetic issues still like the icon still showing when you swipe up to enter pin instead of using your fingerprint. I think thats it.
* General under the hood improvments
July 23
* Updated flashing method. No more clunky scripts , we now are using a fastboot update zip. This is the same method the OEMs use to flash, simply boot to fastbootd and run (fastboot update filename.zip) where filename is the name of the downloaded zip. Installation instructions in first post are updated to reflect this change. dont use TWRP its still buggy as hell
* Ported Face Unlock feature from previous Android versions as a alternative to fingerprint unlock until that issue is resolved.
* Enable SELinux Enforcing
* Update security patch to June 2020
* Upstream changes and possibly a couple other small things I forgot
July 07
* Updated vendor libraries to 10.0.36
* General source cleanup and optimization
* Updated build fingerprint to match vendor
* still no FP , but progress being made
June 29
* Initial Release

I agree, it is pretty dead, which is unfortunate. I have been waiting for lineage to be available for this phone since i got it and i very much appreciate your hard work. I just have to figure out how to flash this without bricking my phone. Its been several years since ive flashed roms on an android phone.

I like it a lot. It flies on my phone.
I just wanted to say thank you for making this possible! I wish you good luck for making the rom more stable and to anyone else working on future ROMs for the 7T pro 5g mclaren! Glad to see there is an active community and maybe one day we will get an international conversion method? Pog

Hello everyone. Im actually thinking about installing this rom on my phone. I currently have the only other custom rom that is available for this phone. I notice some thing that was less in performance in the stock rom like the wifi range and battery life. Also, in one of the earlier conversations i read about very little activity, I believe the issue is that most people either dont want to loose the finger print function and also, the process of flashing is completely different. Especially with no TWRP support for the device. Maybe all of this will change when TWRP is actually fully supported.

Thank You for your hard efforts Albino! I have been patiently waiting to get a great Vanilla Rom for this phone and Lineage is exactly what I have been waiting for. As a thank you, I just submitted a small donation for your efforts and I hope that it would encourage you to not lose hope with this community and continue to invest your expertise in our device. Thank You and I look forward to having your Lineage OS running on my OP7 Pro MCL soon with the hopes that you'll be able to resolve the fingerprint issue soon.
Is there anyone who has tested WiFi/Bluetooth on this ROM vs AOSiP? The latter has had a shorter range than stock ROM and idk if this ROM had any advantages. Thoughts?

* Major Release, do a full wipe if you have problems. I actually STRONGLY recommend a full wipe anyways.
* For all intents and purposes this is a Stable release. I've done extensive testing and everything has worked as it should or above and beyond. Now on to the updates
* A lot of just under the hood optimization and cleanup. There some configuration options that weren't exactly optimized for our device, dalvik config is a good example.
* 5G support is on par with stock ROM, if not better.
* Auto brightness has been improved
* Some cosmetic issues have been addressed like status bar padding and FOD icon centering.
* Fixed a wakelock issue when using Always on Display
* Adjustable display refresh rate code has been improved.
* Updated vendor libs from hotdog Android R OB2 to allow full use of Android 11 Display HAL
* Added Stereo in call recording support
* Various audio fixups, including increasing volume steps from 7 to 15 and raising the max volume level to be on par with stock OOS
* Optimized Always on Display: fixed wakelock issue, lowed default AOD brightness, as well as enabled auto brightness when on AOD if enabled by user within settings
* Many upstream changes, fixes, and improvments.
** This will most likely be my final release as i have moved on to the Snapdragon variant of the Note 20 Ultra 5G. Thanks for the support guys and I hope you enjoy my work. Hopefully someone will pick up where I left off.
Dec 26
* Merry Christmas!
* Updated ROM base to lineage-18.1
* Notification pull-down menu now shows 3 rows of tiles as expected
* Added "Minimum Refresh Rate" settings option in Settings > Display instead of hard-coding to 90htz always. With this new option choosing 90htz will (obviously) make it always 90htz , and choosing 60htz is similar to the "Dynamic" option in stock OOS where it decides based on what app your using.
* (With version 18.1 most, if not all of the expected LineageOS features have been merged)
* Fixed "choppy" display frame rate that would happen from time to time
* Fingerprint recognition speed improvement.
* Fixed excessive battery drain when Always On Display is active
* Update dalvik configs (they were configured for an 8GB RAM devices, we have 12)
* UI: Enabled blur
* Fixed IMS from spamming system logs
* Fixed booting with SELinux Enforcing on "user" build types
* Enabled SELinux enforcing
Nov 20
* Fixed up all the small bugs from test build
* Standalone 5G (NR SA) support, requires being on 10.0.39 or newer modem. Also be aware the signal icon will show no bars when connected to NR SA, this is just a cosmetic bug.
* Updated audio configs to to match OOS 10.0.39
* Added audio volume policy , should fix the lower then normal volume when below 50%
* SELinux is currently set to "Permissive" until I work out all the sepolicy errors
Oct 14
* Initial internal test Release

First time installing a custom ROM but when I run "fastboot update lineage-18.1-<builddate>-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip" I get an error reading "Fastboot: error: failed to open zip file 'lineage-18.0-<builddate>-UNOFFICIAL-hotdogg+GAPPS_fastboot.zip': I/O error
EDIT: I got it working
I've installed the latest build (18.1, build 12/26), but I can't change notification, ringtone, or alarm through settings. Clicking on any of those restarts the settings app.
EDIT: I tried to do a workaround through tasker, but when I go to choose the sound I get the following popup:
Error: android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle intent { act=android.intent.action.RINGTONE_PICKER (has extras) }.
I wasn't able to find a working solution through google. I tried clearing the cache for settings and restarting, but it didn't fix anything. I also can't use the default launcher as it just continually crashes, but the pixel launcher works fine.

hmmm. i'll take a look. tbh i restored stock like a week back to get updated libs and then my ISP was having all types of issues , one thing lead to another. blah blah blah.. i'm back now though
does this have pocket mode? or check proximity sensor before wakeup?N im happy your back
Also I dont seem to get the same signal as on aosip or oos not sure why switched it to global and im on the new sim
Great ROM so far! Just got one thing to add. Anyone seeing low WiFi signal? My house isn't big at all but when I'm in the kitchen, which is about 20 ft away form the router, it'll keep switching between data and wifi because it says the signal is poor. My gf's stock pixel is at full bars in the kitchen. Any thoughts? Also, I reflashed and still same issue.
I've been watching this therad ever since you released it, and it looks to keep getting better,, so kudos to you man! I have the T-Mobile variant on the Mint netowork, so I'm always afraid to try anything but I haven't done much research on if you can flash it to a T-Mobile device. Let me know, thanks!

I have the same phone, also went from t-mobile to mint. You have to get oneplus to unlock the bootloader, and then you can follow the flash instructions for the rom (Probably want to do the backup as well, although that wouldn't work for me). If you try it, hopefully you don't have the issues I had with notifications/ringtones.

Does this mean PE recovery is available for us as well? Also thanks for building all these!
Does SD card work fine on this rom? It looks like the other two LineageOS roms have problems.
Think im gonna nut. Thank you so much OP
Boots up and runs like a dream. I used the .51 boot images and was on it before flashing
magisk patched from .51 works for magisk without having to use TWRP. Works great! Does anyone know if we can port Side Sense over to this ROM?
The only bug Ive found is that if you rotate the device to landscape, it doesnt want to rotate back to portrait without turning the screen on and off

I am using daily the previous build for 3 days and its PERFECT bro thank you so much. Viper4android works, battery life slightly better than stock, no bugs or issues and the most important: It fixed my proximity sensor issues. It started "blinking" about a month ago, making calls and listening to voice messages very annoying (screen would be blinking randomly). After I flashed the stock 11 version and it wasnt fixed, I was sure it was a hardware issue with many reports of it being faulty on 5 ii and 1 ii on forums and reddit, but now I suspect its a combination of proximity/light sensor calibration. The automatic brightness on your rom works much better than stock and I suspect the proximity sensor uses the light sensor at the same time. I tried all root solutions on the market claiming to recalibrate the sensor but no luck. Now its working as intended with your rom!
Is it safe to dirty flash the updated version? Will I need to wipe data?
Thanks again for single handedly creating so many ROMs for the best phone (in hardware) in the market. I was really considering to sell my 5ii because of the issues and software bugs, but now I have hope again it will be great using Lineage/Pixel Experience.

I can confirm LDAC is NOT working currently, It doesn't broadcast song information to my car stereo when hooked to bluetooth.
Flashed my device with latest build and works great. No flaws and runs smoothly. Thanks for your great job. Awesome!!!

Hello! Is it possible to reduce haptic feedback (touch vibration) with this rom? Can you please check?

No, it is not possible. It just have the option to enable/disable touch vibration but not the chance to reduce vibration when enabled.
two minor issues.
1) nowhere to disable one sim card out of the two.
2) there is no option for 5GHz in the settings of hotspot.
overall it runs smoothly. thank you!
Would really love to use this officially from the PE server without having to flash odm. How did you get the stock camera as well @ken442266 ? I thought there is only paclages to flash for photo pro and cinema pro? Could you maybe link a working version of the normals stock cam as well? Would really appreciate that? Also, is safetynet working?
It would also be great to have exfat support since that is just a few kernel tweaks

Hey man thanks for your reply
That is nice, so this will become official without SODP base? Would really love to see that happen.
Does safetynet work on this ROM to install Netflix and Google Pay and stuff like that? And how is the battery life @120hz compared to stock @120hz?
Sorry for asking that much but I am really interested in this ROM and appreciate your hard work on it
And I am really looking forward to stock Dolby Atmos thanks for implementing that as well
One last one: is 21w fast charging supported and if H.S. is on board as well are you going to implement the Game Enhancer too and how is the camera performance with the stock apps compared to the stock ROM itself?

It will always be UNOFFICIAL. I'm still a student and will have less time to update it when I go to school. And about safetynet . idk. Cause I don't use it. battery life is fine (60hz up to 10h screen on time, Which is same as stock based on my usage). Everything you expect is almost the same as stock.

All of that is really great to hear, thanks a lot. If you have not touched anything sfetynet related the nit will very likely not work since it has to be fixed manually. That should not be too hard and if you like and have got the time some day you can have a look into it
