What I'm trying to do is open an app using it's protocol with nfc. An example would be google.
chrome://history for example
But how can I find the protocol url without it being already availible?
I read an article here and this kinda seems like it but looking into many of my applications, non of them have a 'assetlink.json' or 'AndroidManifest.xml' file to tell the app to open the program with a link. Do I have to sniff the protocol links somehow? Any links to tools or posts would be appreciated
Not sure where to put this as 'Networking' didn't seem like the right place...
All Android apps have an AndroidManifest.xml it is in the APK. I could create a scanner that scans all apps for them.
Is there a specific app you are looking at?
I have added deep links to my app (Alliance Shield) if you would like to see what apps have deep links. The update should be hitting the play store next week, if you want the beta version ask and I will post a link
*Free registration required to use the app, also ads in the app, if you send me your username I will turn them off for you.

terrific? Does not work? Or what?
He/she means that it's working great.
Been using this for awhile now, i think it was like 1.1. This is the best brightness adjuster for Android, period. Something that shouldve been included by Google by default.
I have absolutely no issues with it. At first I would accidentally trigger it when pulling down notifications but once I changed it to be top left, i just pull down from the center or right side and no longer have issues.
Great great app. Surprised you've kept it free. Definitely would be worth paying for.

You can donate me. There is a button in the settings of Display Brightness
I will do.
Also, just noticed a bug with the latest release. When it starts up, it's causing auto brightness to be turned on.
Turn autob off. Set db to auto start, restart phone, autob is on. Turn autob off, launch db, autob is on.
Running on 4.0.3

What happend to your app? I can't find it in the playstore anymore.
Google blocked my account and removed all my apps from Play market.
All appeals was useless. Google is confident in its infallibility
This was my favorite screen dimmer. I have the apk saved but I hate that Google has removed it from the store. What happened?
My developer site was hacked and used to show porno banner.
I removed all links from all applications to that site. But Google blocked my 4 applications as violation Sexually Explicit Content
I don't understand why they blocked only 4 apps, but did not blocket other 15.
And after appeals google blocked my developer account.

This was one of my favorite apps. I just got a Pixel 2 and looked for this and was depressed that I couldn't find it. There's nothing else like it on the market and it is so damn useful.

Thanks a lot for the upload. It´s the best brightness App

I tried doing this. They were unsympathetic, and would give me no information. They would not tell me why you were banned either.
There is nothing else on the Play store that does what your app did. I'm glad you posted this so I can still access it and recommend it to other people.
Exactly what I was looking for. Great app! Thanks

I already had v5.1 installed - is the one you attached to the first post different? I tried all the donation links in the app I already have, but they all seem to rely on your domain - which seems to have been taken over by a spammer. If you don't fix that somehow, then nobody can donate and I strongly doubt Google will restore your apps if they link to that domain.
A pity, as I've realized how much I use your app (since I couldn't find it in Google Play anymore) and you certainly deserve a donation for creating something so useful. It's absolutely one of the very first things I install on every new Android device I get. Thank you for being so generous by uploading your app here for free.

Google must have gotten tired of this and changed things. Your instructions no longer match what appears on their site. I managed to get to an offer of a phone call from them in ten minutes, but haven't done that yet. Might try it later, but I'd be surprised if it helped much.

If you're phone is rooted you can try AdFree: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5iaWd0aW5jYW4uYW5kcm9pZC5hZGZyZWUiXQ..
This is by far the most effective adblocking app.
I use AdAway from the Play Store, does the job for me. Any ad blocker will do though, as long as you're rooted.
Also, if the app doesn't require the Internet then you can turn the data connection off when using it. I used to do that with Angry Birds before I rooted my phone.

use adaway.. it's simple and very user friendly.. Ads also annoy me, we share the same prob.. so glad if it could help you out..
Are these apps for free? I want to remove the annoying ads as well.
The ads are there to support developer.
If you really want to remove them, the easiest way is to use your phone offline whenever you are using the add supported app

but, if I use my tablet offline, there's not much that I can do with it since a lot of apps require data plan to run
re:
The best ad blocker is ''AD Blocker Trial'' try it all, it's free on play store and doesn't require root acsses, that's simple ya...
Use a firewall (e.g. Droidwall), set filtering to "whitelist" and only allow those applications that really must have internet access. That will not only block ads but also prevent apps from phoning home other sensitive data. Of course, you need a rooted device for this.
Try Adfree friend.. you can download in play store!
i have try it
Some roms have it built in
Find a rom that has ad blocker already in the list of extras.
play store has removed ad removing apps?
Hmm, it looks like the ad removing apps are gone from the play store (which I guess I understand from googles point of view - they probably get a few pennies for these ads also).. Is there another place to get these? Amazon app store has "ad-blocker pro", but the 3 reviews all say it doesn't work..
Is there non-store place for some of these.. We can load a rom yet with ads removed for the LG Motion 4G, but removing the ads would be good enough for me

Ah indeed.. Apparently I'm too much of a newbie to allowed to post links, but google "pcmag" and "ad-block" and I guess you'll see the article.. I do see that the apps are available on f-droid (which is an open source apps store that I can't post a link to either - google is usually your friend here)...

You can try to download and use Lucky Patcher, very usefull app. It can help you.
You can download Adblock plus from their official website because google has pulled these adblocking apps from play store or you can use the lucky patcher if you have a rooted device. Hope it helps!

For AdAway, check F-Droid. AdFree can be found at the Adfree Android Homepage.
As both work using a modified /etc/hosts file, one could also manipulate that manually. But that would be quite a hazzle :silly:
I remember there was one app that worked by disabling the ad modules themselves -- which would be much more interesting to me. I just cannot figure out which app that was. Any hints?

Is anyone else annoyed when they go to look through apps? Say you open an app page and look at it but want to go back to the recent list of searched apps, but then it goes to the app store home, and you have to type in the same search again to look at the others.
Where can we suggest things to google that they actually wilk see and respond to? If they want to be at the top of their game simple stuff like this should be fixed, its such a simple thing.

I can see how it can come across as spam as I have 0 post history but it isn't - it actually works. Give it ago, nothing to lose.
This is the best tool of its kind and it really works. Thanks OP for this wonderful thing. Even there is a binary for windows on the website.
This looks rather interesting.
However, as you point out in your own website "you shouldn’t trust random binaries on the Internet and thus the C# source code is available if you wish to build it your self", it would be great to know how this works.
The C# app is just a wrapper for your web app. It doesn't show how it's done, so it doesn't allay any fears other than running the windows app. You still don't know anything about the apk that's downloaded.
Great idea though.
Exactly.
However I've downloaded a few small files and they match with the ones I already had.
I won't share how it's done but the APK is directly downloaded from the Play Store as if you were browsing it your self. Feel free to do MD5/SHA1 checksum comparisons of the apk from the play store and of the apk downloaded via this tool.

Do you miss traditional wheel-style volume rockers? Or are the volume buttons on your device broken? Are you always hitting the wrong one? Try VolumeSlider, the volume button replacer. Control up to four different volume streams* on the same screen by simply sliding your finger up or down the edges of the screen. It's that easy.
*Controlling 2 or 4 streams simultaneously requires the ad-free, paid version (just a buck!). Free version allows controlling one stream on the left or right side. Free version contains banner and interstitial ads and will indicate when an interstitial ad is about to be shown.
Install from the Play Store or download the apk below

Why you take it down from play store?

@clownFace - Is there any way you could upload the full version here? I've purchased it back in the day and it was amazing!!! Unfortunately after installing a custom ROM a couple of weeks ago I've had to give up on it because it's not available in the Play Store/XDA anymore. I understand if you don't want to support it anymore, but if you don't expect any $$ from it anyway, can you please share the full version so we can use it? At least as long as it works in its current form. Cheers
