Hello, I checked two Samsung websites. Both do not list the Note PRO 12.2 as compatible with the Gear S. I contacted Samsung. The guy said the same thing. When I asked him the reason, he told me that he just read from the list. In practice, are they fully compatible with each other? Has anybody tried? Please share experience. Thanks.
Hi Everyone,
I would like to buy a Note Edge very soon but i wanted to ask which variant should I get - I do plan on rooting the device asap and flashing various themes so I want the most compatible variant for this. Currently I am now in Australia and the SM-N915G are very much available everywhere, however I did notice slightly more development for the SM-N915FY (EU version) will there be incompatibility between the G & Y versions?
Thanks.

first, NO n915F(Y) rom is not compatible with N915G.
i own an SM-N915G (snapdragon) which i love. as you noticed yourself, there are no custom ROMs for this variant. BUT hey who needs a custom rom when there is Xposed? i customize every thing with it. pretty much all the things that i love about the root is in Xposed.
My friend owns the 915F (which is compatible with 915FY), and he's got the same stuff i got (no custom Rom, only Xposed).
bottom line, i suggest N915G for you because it's Australian. and it's Snapdragon which i like more.
and the official Lollipop is already available for N915G too. :good: :good: it's smooth as hell
As mentioned above, its best to get the variant that is usable in your region for compatibility and service purposes.
I have the SM-N915G model but the Note Edge isn't sold in my country (at least not yet).
If I ever need repairs or service done to my Note Edge, all I need to do is fly to Singapore where I bought the phone from.
And the bonus part, the SM-N915G has an official Lollipop update.
so the sm-n915fy is an octacore?
will it work with lte att on USA?
No F(Y) it's SD-805
Essentially Samsung got sick of people buying grey import phones for cheaper from different regions and instead now make different models WITH THE SAME HARDWARE for different regions.
Unfortunately, you can't flash the ROMs of a different region...
Looks like Sammy is going the way of Apple.... Not so Dev friendly anymore if the ROM for 1 region can't be used on the same hardware but a different model number (region) device...
I can only speak of the FY variant. I bought it in Germany and so far very satisfied. The OS is really fluid, never experienced a hiccup so far, but I dont use facebook or twitter but all other messaging apps are there (z.B whatsapp, viber, skype and fring )with notifications turned on.
I get between 3,5-4 hours SOT depending on LTE Usage.
I'm still on kitkat and don't mind lollipop anyways cause I had the LG G3 before this handset and tried it already last year and can say that ART wasn't that drastic change as Android Hyped it. so I'm waiting for a stable lollipop.
Hope I helped
I live in the U.S. and bought a SM-N915T unlocked using AT&T and so far it's working out well.
I agree with staying with phones for your region. I have read that in the U.S. that you can use a F, FY, or G version unlocked but you may not get 4G LTE and you have to use a SIM card for overseas.
Can i please get some advice? (sorry a bit long but thought i need to provide the background info).
I have been given a Samsung Note 7 as a compensation-related gift by my network operator Vodafone and to cut a very long story short i have almost exhausted all possibilities with Vodafone and Samsung to get it exchanged for a different model or a credit.
I am currently looking at the possibilities of keeping my Note 7 if i feel i can assess (and possibly repair) it privately to confirm the safety implications and any other issues that may come up.
My questions are as follows:
1. Has anyone had success changing the Imei and model number? The reason is to protect myself from network barring and to retain app support. I have a previous Note and can use the imei. My plan was to change the model to G935F that of an S7 Edge. (There are some sites i came across but I wasn’t sure the guides were tested)
2. Can i root it and will i be able to update it regularly from core android?
3. Will the Wifi-calling feature work? Sounds like a small thing but its quite important. I have this feature on my Note 7 already and activated on my account and its very useful to me.
I live in the UK and I am an Engineer by trade. I worked for a cellular phone repair centre a number of years ago that specialised with Samsung and Nokia phones.
Whilst i have some experience and contacts in the industry, my knowledge of the current software/ firmware platforms on the market is limited so i would greatly appreciate any advice you can give.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I am new to the phone and want to know a few things if anyone has a moment of your time available please.
Can you install a custom ROM on this 5g model?
It seems very unclear if I can or not as I cannot see another thread for the device separately so is it the same as the normal 7 pro?
If you root the device what things does it break? I am coming from a Samsung and rooting broke some of the Samsung functions such as Bixby and Samsung pay is this the case for OnePlus?
I have seen that some people turn their sprint model of 5g to the European model why is the European version better?
Hello all,
I have been reading that cricket wireless doesn’t like one plus phones (plus the phones I see on eBay say “doesn’t work with cricket”)
does anyone know if it’s possible to flash a global rom and enable voice over lte manually? And are those the only thing hindering it from working?
I saw on crickets website that the 9 pro is supported however, I want the 9 since it’s a little smaller and cheaper

I have the op9 and running it with a Verizon sim. It uses Volte to connect. I don't believe Cricket has this feature. Not really positive though. I'm having zero issues with my setup though. As far as flashing a global rom I'm unsure of that also. Maybe someone else will chime in with more knowledge than me. But if cricket doesn't have volte through their network . A different build isn't going to enable that feature I wouldn't believe.
Yeah, cricket supports volte. It’s actually owned and operated by AT&T but it’s a “separate” company.
The thing is, is that I’m seeing many people say that it doesn’t work but then some are. Crickets official website says the oneplus 9 pro us version is compatible so I’m just curious if anyone is currently using a Chinese version on cricket.
I know when I was with At&T I was able to use a Xiaomi by manually activating volte through a secret menu so I didn’t know about the oneplus 9 from China.

I tried that guide and I got volte working with the cricket profile however, no wifi calling.
I was able to get wifi calling provisioned to my line and even received a text from cricket saying that I can activate it. However, I'm not sure what profiles I should activate inside of PDC
