How To Guide Remap assistant button - Sony Xperia 5 III

I did not make this, I just compiled the latest version (higher than 0.6.0) (which hasn't been done yet):

You need to execute this after installing if you want to remap (the app walks you through this):
adb shell pm grant xyz.ivaniskandar.shouko android.permission.READ_LOGS
If you need adb, turn on developer options, enable usb debugging and download this:

No, it will flicker up for a short period of time since i think the software uses the assistant activation as a trigger for your action.

I have the video pro app installed and if I set the assistant button to open the app, it crashes the app completely I have uninstall and reinstall it for it to work again.

Tried it out on Android 12 on the Xperia 5 III. Works well but the google assistant still pops up. Is there a way to disable that all together?

I have the Xperia 1 iii. I used this to remap the button = https://github.com/ivaniskandar/shouko/releases/tag/0.1.0
It works on Android 12. However, I never use any assistant so I also used ADB to "uninstall" the Google Assistant and this way it never even tries to pop up at all. Works great!

What command did you use?

Didn't work for me on Android 12. I set it to launch Google Maps, but the button did nothing after that, even with an unlocked screen. It also kept randomly asking for superuser access (after the initial setup). Uninstalled and rebooted and the button worked again (Assistant).

then thats your issue, your device isnt corrected properly, make sure Debug mode is enabled in developer options and the phone shows up in device manager with a driver.

do u have any live communicator like facebook messenger to asist in real time and help me with it?

Hi all,
I have received my new Xperia 5III last week and just tested this way to remap the button on Android 12.
With the latest version of the app (0.7.1)
GitHub - ivaniskandar/shouko: Xpand the feature set of your Android!
Xpand the feature set of your Android! Contribute to ivaniskandar/shouko development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
and these adb commands:
adb shell pm grant xyz.ivaniskandar.shouko android.permission.READ_LOGS
adb shell pm grant xyz.ivaniskandar.shouko android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
it works but displays the Google Assistant popup.
Since I don't use the Google app nor Google Lens, I simply disabled the Google app and it works as intended for me!
Thumbs up

Actually, if you disable the Google app from the settings that popup will be gone and you remap and use the key freely

I can't believe that it's so simple to get rid of this annoying popup :O Thanks and since the Google app is down let's clear the bloatware

It stopped working for me since updating to android 13

You need to have usb debugging enabled.
Enable usb debugging via recovery:
Code:
Adb shell
echo "persist.service.adb.enable=1" >>/system/build.prop
echo "persist.service.debuggable=1" >>/system/build.prop
echo "persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage,adb" >>/system/build.prop"
reboot

The [email protected] app should surely work with ubuntu cause its an java jar file, but the visual basic application you can try to run with whine i suppose.
Thanks! This will come in handy on my girlfriend's Skyrocket with a shattered screen.
Would love to try this app.
Sadly I can't acquire a connection via Wifi. I certainly enabled
all the needed options on my device (LG Optimus 4X HD [p880]),
but as soon as I click on the adb connection button a cmd window
comes up with the path C:\User\MyName\Downloads\Tools (probably the path where it expect adb to be)
and if I move via "cd" to my adb and run it nothing happens.
On second try I was able to change the path via the [email protected] part of the app
but still nothing happens when I hit the button besides the cmd window coming up.
Will try the usb way now.
EDIT: USB way works perfectly fine :good:
Thanks for this!
thank you very much! data recovery should now be easy

thanks for the tool mate! i hope to see it cross compiled for linux soon aswell
Very nice! Works great. I have a suggestion, if it's even possible, a few months back I cracked the screen and digitizer at the same time. Turning the screen on would make the phone go haywire since it was registering multiple "touches" from the broken screen/digitizer. Anyway to implement this with the screen completely turned off? Just curious.
is there away for the tool to work if usb debugging wasn't enabled on my broken phone???

Apart from many other installers widely available on XDA, they all had two things missing; ability to fetch latest version automatically and be really small in size. Well, I have loads of free time so I started working on this small nifty installer for ADB and Fastboot for Windows. What sets it apart from the all other installers?
** FEATURES **
Installer entirely coded in C++ and uses default Win32 APIs
Compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows later than Windows XP
Really small size (146 kB installer + 1 MB adb / fastboot zip)
Latest version of ADB downloaded automatically from Github Repository and installed system-wide
Seamless install of ADB/Fastboot drivers (Google only for now)
Fully Open Source
** REQUIREMENTS **
Microsoft Windows Vista or later
Active Internet connection
Administrative privileges
** DOWNLOADS **
installer-version-1.2-stable: https://github.com/hackslashX/ADB-F...ster/versions/adb_fastboot_installer-1.2s.exe (146 kB size; adb package will be downloaded separately)
** SOURCE CODE **
For all my Open Source software fans: https://github.com/hackslashX/ADB-Fastboot-Installer-for-Windows/tree/master/source
ADB version update 1.0.39-r3db08f2c6889-android has been successfully pushed to the GitHub repository. Simply rerun the installer to automatically download and install the latest version.
Great, thank you... you saved me

i just want to access my adb shell for my nougat device on my pc win7.

It installs it to C:\Windows\adb.exe.
Did you run the installer as administrator and did the installation completed successfully. You also must be connected to internet during installation.
your installer is recognised as a trojan: https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/...45688791ea9abed7b75386e0/analysis/1505028376/

I'll test it on Bitdefender today to check if it is really the case. The only reason why antivirus detects it as a suspicious file is because it copies all files to Windows directory

Yep, can be easily done. I'll implement this functionality in the weekends.
Hi there, I just wanted to stop by and say thanks for developing this. All the other quick installers seem to be abandoned, and the newest versions of adb do actually make a difference. For example, it used to be that a pull would skip files with certain characters, and I believe they've ironed that out now. I am going to download this and give it a shot asap.
Thanks again.

I've already added support for installation on non Windows directory and updating the Path variable system-wide to allow using adb from any command prompt.
What's left now is to add support for downloading and installing drivers on the go. I already have silent packages for Huawei, Samsung and Google drivers. Will add the support for it too as soon as I get free this Friday after my exams.
New update 0.3-b
- Remove installation of adb directly to Windows directory.
- Installed now in C:\hcX-af directory with system-wide PATH variable automatically updated so that you can run adb from anywhere
- Updated adb and fastboot version
Download Link:https://github.com/hackslashX/ADB-F...ster/versions/adb_fastboot_installer-0.3b.exe
After installation if you're unable to use adb, please logoff or reboot your PC for changes to take affect.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: What will I have to do if I get an update to Andromeda from Play Store?
A: Reboot your device, then rerun your desktop client. This ensures the background service is using the latest code!
Q: What happens if Substratum loads up to a blurry window saying "falling back to rooted mode"?
A: This means that Andromeda's client does not want to serve you, meaning that you probably are running an unlicensed/modified copy.
Q: I am pressing the Substratum icon but it closes immediately! What gives?!
A: Rerun the Andromeda client and try again.
Q: If I reboot, will I lose this connection with the Andromeda Desktop client?
A: Yes, to keep the device safe, Google has ensured that elevated privileges using the shell will be completely disabled at boot.
Q: If I reboot, will my overlays remain enabled/disabled as I left them before I rebooted?
A: Yes
Q: Are systemwide fonts supported?
A: No
Q: Are bootanimations themable?
A: No
Q: What does it mean if it says "Connected" but Substratum keeps closing abruptly?
A: Your connection is not fully opened, so a reboot will be required. Reboot, and then rerun Andromeda to fix this!
Q: Sometimes when I unplug, it will disconnect Andromeda! What gives?
A: This is a bug with ADB and certain devices and computers. You can try another architecture like Windows 10, or Mac OS X, but some custom ROMs may interfere with this, as @MishaalRahman confirmed, certain hacked together ROMs may cause the shell to close almost every time.
Q: What will I need to provide if I run into a crash?
A: A full logcat, obtainable using this guide (unrooted): https://www.xda-developers.com/guide-sending-a-logcat-to-help-debug-your-favorite-app/

I also have a Pixel if that helps, but not telegram, I'd love to test.
I too would love to test with the pixel if this isn't already available!
P.S. I'm fairly new to telegram, so I can't quite figure out where to DM you... haha

The substratum on the play store is currently v823. Andromeda requires v839, which isn't released yet.

Best app for disabling

Hi guys so package disable pro no longer work and I’ve just factory reset my phone for a clean start what is the best app to use now or is there nothing about that use to be as good as pdp
thanks
I have switched to CCWSE App Manager when Package Disabler Pro stopped working. Seems to do a good job.

CCSWE App Manager was designed for users who want disable applications and packages to improve performance. It also allows you to hide icons for applications they do not use without uninstalling the entire application. You can also hide icons for stock system applications which will allow you to...

No, you just have to give it administrative privileges. I have several old root apps on my Ultra that you just do a couple of adb commands to get them to work. The best thing about CCSWE is that you can disable and reenable on the fly.

There used to be before they changed the forum all around. I disable most all the carrier bloat, bixby, dex wearables and several other. Doing it with the app instead of adb you can just reenable on the fly if it borks something else you use.
Looks like we've all been screwed again. Lost his license, wish there was a reliable disabler,
Gotta have root, all other disabling solutions are temporary or not as stable and permanent as root.
Went with this one, not on the play store but is working.
Home - Package Disabler
The only NON-root solution that let’s you disable any unwanted packages that come pre-installed / installed with your phone / tablet.

i hope you are aware that it's at mercy of Samsung Knox policy just as ccswe and can be disabled without a moment's notice. That said, wishing you it last you a long time

I know but it's all there is and I really don't want to root.
Sigh, sucks he lost his license
The Cloud Disabler from Package Disabler is still working on my Note 10+ and Note 20 Ultra, link in post 10 of this thread.
I'm using PDP on my N20U Snapdragon and it's working perfectly. Really makes a difference!

Question MIUI 12.5 Playback controls issue

Hello,
Recently I've upgraded from MIUI 12.0.5 to MIUI 12.5.1. After upgrade, I'm not able to close playback control window (for example VLC or Voice Audiobook Player):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Playback control window pretends to disappear when I swipe it (to the right or to the left):
but the there's empty space after that and I can swipe it back in opposite direction. The only way to close it permanently is to force stop the application.
It looks like an issue with MIUI 12.5.1.
Any ideas how to fix it? Does anyone have the same issue?
Thanks in advance!
Same issue here!
Thanks! I've already sent an issue report to POCO (Xiaomi) via Feedback in MIUI. I think everybody should do the same to bring developers attention to this issue.
How did you installed 12.5? I still didn't receive update for mine, It says latest version is MIUI Global 12.0.2 by the way do you mean 12.0.5 or 12.5?

You have to install the zip manually, but only if you have a european region ROM. If not, you'll have to unlock the bootloader first, flash the european 12.0.6.0 ROM, and then update to 12.5.1

I'm still on waiting period to unlock my bootloader, I believe 6 days left for it. I've looked mostly everywhere if there is any way to bypass that stupid waiting time but I couldn't find any way to do, once I unlock my bootloader I believe I'll install Indonesian ROM to get rid of from google apps etc.

WTF!!!
Just sell your Poco and buy a Huawei P40 PRO... Goodbye Google!
I'm not sure it is a bug. It is just typical bad Miui implementation of aosp and they are using old android11 source https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/...etely-dismissed-after-the-december-patch/?amp
IMO it is a bug because it worked correctly on Android 11 with MIUI 12.0.5.
bro its stable beta version. w8 for updates and it fix.do you clear cathe after updating? reset factory do that. maybe help
another thing. pls give antutu benchmark score so and we can compare performance. thanks
As it was discussed on the 4pda.ru, this behavior could be fixed via adb shell command:
Code:
settings put secure qs_media_resumption 0
Don't forget to allow "USB debugging (Security settings)".

Thanks a lot, will also try this method.
It's way easier to solve it by updating "MIUI notifications", You can solve it by simply installing this apk.
Xiaomi Notifications 1.1.4.14 (arm64-v8a + arm + arm-v7a) (Android 9.0+) APK Download by Xiaomi Inc. - APKMirror
Xiaomi Notifications 1.1.4.14 (arm64-v8a + arm + arm-v7a) (Android 9.0+) APK Download by Xiaomi Inc. - APKMirror Free and safe Android APK downloads

It's an official release by Xiaomi so don't worry about it, it's safe.

Unfortunately, updating the app did not help in my case. After exiting Spotify, the playback controls are still displayed.

I tried a few ADB versions and USB debugging was also activated, but unfortunately I got the following error message every time.
Same Problem here, reportet. Any news about ADB settings (working?)?
I did in this way and it works for me:
1. allow "USB debugging".
2. allow "USB debugging (Security settings)".
3. start adb shell with a command:
Code:
adb shell
4. run a configuration command:
Code:
settings put secure qs_media_resumption 0
5. exit from adb shell.
