Have to reboot every 2-3 days - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

My upload/download seems to hang every few days and won't work until I reboot the phone. Seems to be both on cell and wifi. I notice it on the Play Store, apps that connect to the internet, and websites. Anybody else having this problem? Any suggestions as to what might be going wrong? Thanks!

Captivate and Microcell Data Issue

I have 2 Microcells, one at my home and one at my office. It seems on both of them that I have a problem connecting to data about 50% of the time. Once I connect, it seems to work fine for a bit. But getting that initial connection can take some time on occasion. I don't ever recall having an issue like this with my Tilt 2.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
I have this issue with my device in general. It will say its connected but applications can't use the data. I at times need to either toggle wifi or airplane mode to get it to work correctly. This is incredibly annoying.
I just bought a micro tower and noticed this issue with captivate... haven't had time to look in to the problem... sometimes I can't access websites without refreshing several times, and sending data, ie pictures to gmail...
Update
Today I stopped in an AT&T store to see about possibly trying to exchange my phone for a new one to see if this was the issue.
The store rep called tech support, and what they said they did was they pushed an over-the-air update to both my microcells and my Captivate. When I got home, I power cycled my phone and microcell. Once the microcell regained connection, I restarted the phone again to be safe. I have been browsing the Android Market for about 30 minutes now, and have not had to refresh for data one time. Before I was lucky to go 5 minutes before the data cut out and I had to try and refresh several times. This seems to have fixed the problem.
AT&T tech support is to follow up with me on Monday to see if the issue is fixed. Seems for now that it is.

Captivate WiFi issue?

My captivate has a problem. It'll connect to WiFi no problem. Unfortunatly, after a while (could be anywhere from long 30 seconds to a few minutes) the WiFi stops sending data. I have to disable/reenable wifi to get it to work again. It still says connected to network, it just won't receive data.
Anyone know of this happening, have a fix, or maybe what I should look for that might be causing this issue?
I disabled recently installed running apps, no help.
I did try a speedfix last night, and it was unsuccessful, and I uninstalled it. Didn't test enough after that to know for sure if it was the issue, but I don't think so.
It was like, I was going through google reader, started a youtube vid, paused it, restarted it, and it wasn't loading. Just wouldn't load. That's when I think the problem started, and I haven't installed anything since then, that i haven't disabled/uninstalled.
Have you tried flashing the stock OS. Maybe this will help. My wifi has been solid so far but i will see if i get a problem like yours. Try reflashing. If it doesn't work post back.

I have the exact same issue on enterprise class cisco wifi APs. The only difference is the symptom is immediate, and not after an interval of time.

I'm thinking of this, but I don't know...
I have my music on my computer, I have my .apk's in a folder and my market synced with appbrain. Anything else I need to do? Will appbrain reset, and make me go find and reinstall everything?
What about the apps that I paid for, what happens to them?
Would be my first flash, and I'm thinking about flashing one of those I9000 roms, but that would be a last ditch effort. I really hope to avoid this.

It's an AT&T U-verse router, and only started a few hours ago, as near as I can tell.
I experience the same phenomenon of dropped wifi, and it occurs at any AP, but I have an interesting twist.
One time out of twenty when I start wifi, the 3g icon doesn't go away, but stays up on the status line with my wifi icon. On those rare occasions, my wifi stays solid for days. Unfortunately, it's random and rare.
same issue
My Wifi stops sending data and the 3G still shows. Sometimes restarting the router helps and sometimes nothing helps.
For anyone that might find this later, turns out (after two rom flashes) it was the router. I found this out when connecting my laptop to it. Surprised the captivate didn't admit it lost connection though.
I wish that were the case for me. My Captivate stays connected, but stops receiving at many different APs--Home, Starbucks, airport. I need a solution or a Scotch.

I had this exact problem, I tried a factory reset and it was still broken. I exchanged my phone and now it works perfectly holding a signal (except for enterprise 802.1x ap's which are known to be broken). (Also if you run dd-wrt check your logs for "deauthenticated due to local deauth", there is a problem with the wpa/wpa2 modules in either android or dd-wrt that they are not compatible with each other).
I actually found this searching for a solution to my own issue with WiFi. I actually fixed it while I was reading this. Unfortunately I have AT&T DSL with 2wire Modem. I went into the setting and setup MAC filtering and assigned it it's own IP. It has worked flawlessly for the past hour. I know this probably will not help when at other locations but at least at home I have a good connection.

Same router type as mine that lost it originally. Interesting, wonder if there is a connection? Or random coincidence.
I'm having a wifi issue as well, but not to the extent others have.
I connect fine, but it appears as though my data download speed is capped at <2mbps for both wifi and 3g?
My wife's iPhone is getting download speeds of over 10mbps on the same wifi network and >3mbps over 3g.
Is it worth flashing back to stock? or is this a known issue?
I'm running stock JH3 with SRE 1.2.1a with lagfix
I have this same issue and it's really random. Running JH2, sometimes it works on wifi, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes disabling\re-enabling wifi fixes it, but rebooting the phone always fixes it. Really frustrating...

[Q] A couple of issues regarding 3G

Hi there.
Just got a new HTC Titan on WP7.5, and it has come to my attention that annoyingly, whenever I try to download anything from the Marketplace through 3G, it sticks on the "Downloading..." screen. However, when I attempt to do this via WiFi, it downloads without trouble. I've had a look at a couple of threads with this same problem and there doesn't seem to be a true fix available for Windows Phone users. I've tried hard resetting the handset to no avail, and it's worth noting that the content I'm attempting to download is under 20mb.
Secondly, I seem to be having a problem connecting to Facebook/WLM Chat; on 3G, it connects successfully, displays online contacts and receives messages. Only problem being that, given about 30 seconds, it will randomly disconnect me. This leads me to have to resync both my Facebook and Live account for the chat to work again... for another 30 seconds.
Again, this works flawlessly when done through Wi-Fi - so you're most likely thinking that it's down to the network, right? Well, the browser works just fine on 3G at all times, so I'm unsure whether to blame the ISP for this one.
Any help would strongly be appreciated.

Can no-one actually offer any type of solution here?

Anyone having trouble with WiFi?

So I've noticed that my tablet would often struggle connecting to my WiFi while my other devices are not. One particular app that shows this is YouTube where I would get a connection error every time. Other apps like Chrome would randomly not load a page cause of my connection. I know it has nothing to do with my router so does anyone have a fix or experiencing the same thing?
I started to notice the same problem a couple of weeks ago. It occurs specially with google play store and with chrome brower.
I thought it is only me with this error.
I am thinking about reflashing the stock rom.
My device is p-901 (3G) version.
Yes, the play store gives me the same problem too. But I'm not even rooted so I don't know what's causing this new tablet to be like this.

[6039s] Google Play (I think) wakelock issue

I can't figure this out to save my life. 6039s Android 6. No root. No special mods. Nothing. Bone stock.
In the middle of the day today I suddenly started getting a horrendous wakelock. I thought it was a Google Play issue but it turned out that it's some kind of mobile data issue.
My LTE connection isn't working right. It's slow for some apps and non existent for others.
For instance my sports score app loads at 2G speeds. My web browser seems to work okay. But my t mobile tuesday's app gives me a big warning that I'm not connected to the internet at all. And the Google Play app gives me all kinds of warning that I need to have background data enabled to use Play, but background data IS enabled.
Making matters worse, when this issue is happening my phone enters a miserable and unstoppable wake lock that drains the battery so fast it hard to even charge it. And it saps up the system resources to heavily that the phone slows down to a crawl and can't be used for anything else. Not to mention the phone gets insanely hot from the excess processing. Could a tower issue that's causing a connection problem cause such a wakelock?
I tried doing a reset of the radio connections in settings, but I don't think it actually did anything because all my settings and connections were still there. Still had my wifi password, BT connections, etc.
I tried wiping cache in recovery but it didn't work. Says it did it. But on reboot I didn't get the "app 1 of 82 is updating". So I don't think it actually did that either.
I cannot figure this out to save my life.
I thought maybe it was a tower issue. But my wife has the exact same phone and it's working fine. I called T Mobile and they said they are having a tower problem near my house, but still...wife's phone is fine. And I've seen this problem now in 3 different locations across about a 5-6 mile range. So I have to have been on more than 1 tower in that time.
When I turn on wifi and have a wifi connection the problem goes away entirely. That's telling me that the problem is the system getting upset that it doesn't have a solid internet connection. Changing the connection to 3G or 2G does not solve the issue.
The problem lasted the whole second half of yesterday, was fine overnight while I left wifi on, was fine on day 2 when I was back to 4G networks, and then suddenly is back again.
Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
Is there some server android is trying to stay in constant contact with that I can block the connection to? Perhaps limit background data to something? I can't figure out what.
This update was irrelevant. Turned out to be a red herring. Still having the problem.
Nevermind this update. STill having the problem
I give up. I'm about to throw the phone against a wall to smash it. The system has become totally loused up. Whenever it goes into these goofy wakelock states the system is so overtaxed that everything takes forever to process. Nothing solves it.
And its' getting worse. Now I have oddly limited connectivity.
T Mobile's tech support was useless. They had me thinking it was a tower issue. That was 3 days ago. Now suddenly they have no records of a tower issue in my area over the last week.
I can make voice calls. But I cant' send text messages. I can use my web browser to search the internet, but not SOME apps that need data like a weather app or Google Play. Other apps work fine to pull data.
Yet it says I have an LTE connection the whole time.
This is the single weirdest issue I've ever seen on Android.
What in the hell could have just jumped in out of nowhere and started causing these issues?
