Google assistant when screen is turned off - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

As the title says, is there a way to say "ok google" and wake up the phone when the screen is turned off ?
It works when it's locked but not when the screen is off.
I've tried to search all over the internet and the forum and i couldn't find a solution.

[Q] is it possible to remove Lock screen?

hi all
ive checked alot of forums and threads and cant seem to get a 100% answer.
i love my defy, however since its got a physical button on top that turns on the unit, and then to turn off the screen u click it again. simple
it may sound picky, but i dont want to click the power button to turn off, also i dont wanna wear out the power button.
ive tried plenty of apps that do "screen off" function however they just lock the defy instead of turning off the screen.
just wanted to know is it possible to have no lock screen for android?
ive found a good app called "invisible lock widget" which is a hidden icon that u click to lock. is it possible to make it just turn off screen.
or does anyone have suggestions please???
Btw this probably should be in general . .. .
Froyo's 'slide to unlock screen' cant be turned off easily from a settings option.
Anywho, the way around it is this https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock.
"No Lock", which can be found in Market, can disable the lock screen.
I'm using a Chinese app 一键锁屏, which can turn off the screen by a tap on the icon. But it requires root.
I use "No Lock", works great
thanks all
thanks all for your replies.
i have tried "no lock" before i posted this thread. ive tried alot of those no lock screen apps and none of them do what i want.
when i use no lock, it just stops me from using any app that can turn off screen.
well, i guess there cant be much done.
if anyone else has any advice it would be much appreciated, other wise thank you all.
I'm not sure I've read this thread correctly but I'm quite happy for the screen to time out and turn off the screen, but I don't want to have to swipe to turn it back on. pressing the power button should be the only action. to revive the homescreen.
would no lock achieve this?

the thing i want to do is make it so that i can turn off my phone with an icon instead of using the power button. i found apps to do that however they dont turn off my screen, instead they lock my phone so the screen is still on but locked.
i just want it to turn off as if i was using my power button.
"no lock" app stops my phone from going into lock screen at all, however it stops all the other apps from functioning.
maybe if i could change the time that the lock screen stays on would be good enough for me.

When the screen is turned off, most apps will be stopped by design of the android system. Do you mean "no lock" turns off screen and some apps which the power button doesn't? Can you name some of these apps?

sorry, when i mean stop functioning. im talking about the other screen off apps.
when i have "no lock" activated it stops the screen off apps from working.
basically i just wanna do turn off the screen of the phone just like i do when i click the power button but have the option to use an app.
but from what ive read other androids like sgs it works fine yet for my defy it doesnt.
does anyone else have that problem?

[Q] OK Google from lockscreen doesn't unlock phone or wake screen

So I just bought a Bluetooth kit of my car and long pressing the play button is supposed to access Google Now voice prompt. Google Now turns on once I press the button however it doesn't wake my screen or open on google now on the screen.
It's pretty irritating because I can do voice commands but nothing shows on the screen while I'm doing it.
For a side issue, I've had problems getting the kit to auto connect with my phone once I turn my car on. I have to manually go into the settings and connect to the device everytime I'm in my car which is also mildly irritating.
Now I don't know if these issues are TouchWiz, lollipop, or device related but I could do some things to try to find out like try other phones on the kit, try other voice command kits with my phone etc.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered these issues and if you were able fix them. Or if you have any suggestions for me.

I think that you have to allow google now to launch using the "ok google" hot word from any screen in the settings of google now.

Did you train your voice?
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
I think this is actually a feature that OP is describing. When you press the bluetooth button or long press the headset button and the device is locked, it activates a hands-free all-audio search so that if your phone is in your pocket you can still give it voice commands without having to touch the screen. The "OK Google" voice command is different, it wakes the device and goes to the voice command screen (which sounds like is what OP wants).
In regards to this I can't get the long press on the headset button to activate voice search. I have google now installed and the settings set to activate with headset, where it warns that this will allow commands to be given while the device is locked. I'm on cleanROM Lite 1.1, but I've tried on my wife's non-rooted phone and also on my galaxy s4 running a touchwiz lollipop rom with no luck. It did work fine on cyanogenmod on my s4.

OK Google with screen off?

Hi guys, if the smartphone is not charging and the screen is off, does the hot word "OK Google" work?
Nope

Can't train OK Google voice model after updating to 10.3

Well, as the title says. It's a weird one really. Whenever I get to the screen where it asks me to say "OK Google" I can say it a hundred times and it just won't register. Weirdly enough, the phrase works just fine to trigger search when I'm in the google app. Just won't let me train it to work with screen off.
same, the screen keep on flashing
Now I can only wake up google asssitant by pressing the power button for 0.5 sec.. (as set up)

"Hey Google" on locked screen (unplugged phone)?

Is there a way to activate Google Assistant by just saying "Hey Google" while the screen is locked and the phone is unplugged?
I know it's possible to call Google Assistant while the phone is plugged in, even on a locked screen, but wondering if it can be done when the phone is unplugged, too.
