I just got my HTC Inspire about 2 days ago and just rooted it to run CM7. I was using the latest stable release and noticed when I sent MMS it would just hang on sending. I then updated to the new nightlies thinking that maybe they would have fixed it in there but no luck. Anyone else experience this issue? I would like all the help since I am new to the android scene. (backstory I had a MotoRazor for 4 years)

For the last week or two, many of the nightlies have had known MMS issues. Your best bet is to go back to 7.0.3 and troubleshoot the problem. I'm assuming you did a full wipe before installing it. I'm not aware of any MMS issues with the stable releases, so the problem may be something specific to your situation or local cell network issues. Something else worth trying is sending MMS messages with a 3rd party SMS app (such as Handcent, Go SMS, ChompSMS, etc) to see if the problem occurs with those apps as well.
I reflashed 7.0.3 multiple times and yes I wiped everything and it still hangs on sending. I tried GO sms and the stock messaging still no luck. I am going to see restore my first backup (fresh rooted stock ROM) and see if that does anything
Edit:
So I restored to the stock ROM and everything works, and re-flashed again to the CM 7.0.3 and MMS didn't work. I then downloaded the radio from here and that didn't fix then I changed my APN according to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042553 and still no luck.
Anyone else having these issues?
You have to reset your APN settings and your data HAS to be on. Had the same problem with mine. Rooted inspire 4g running cm7 rom. But not anymore. Except that I can't send when I'm 'only' using my phones wifi signal and my data turned off. But that's not biggie for me..
Wow... I literally was just going to update this thread saying i just figured that out. Thanks for the help tho
I am running CM7.1.0 which I flashed a couple of days ago. I am having the same issue with MMS getting hung on sending. I have updated the APNs from the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1042553 and still nothing. I also am not on wifi on the phone and showing good h+ signal.
Can anybody help me?
Hi Guys!
I am having strange problem with my DS.
I cannot connect to my Google account,Facebook App is not working and...
Well to cut the story short pretty much any app that requires connection to the internet+credentials will not connect.Amazon appstore,Tweetcaster,Tweetdroid,Friendcaster...you name it...the only one that works is official Twitter App(weird).
When I'm tring set up my Google account all I'm getting is "Cannot establish reliable connection..." I know I am connected to the internet cos I'm writing this post on my phone.browsing internet is the only thing I can do.
Now I was searching net for this problem and the only suggestion was HARD Reset.I can rule that out cos I went even further.I flashed 5 different ROMs and problem still persist.
Next thing on my mind was there is something wrong with my carrier.Nope.rang them up and they claim all is ok on their side.I'm on 3UK and I have iPhone4 as well on 3 UK.on iPhone4 everything works flawlessly so I swapped SIM cards.guess what...the same thing on DESIRE S.
I am no noob and I went through literally all the platforms being able to solve 99% of my problems on my own but this one seems to be bigger than me.
If anyone came across this problem before or knows the answer please help.
Thank you in advance.

Okay, lets try to solve this one quickly.
First, some history...
When did this start happening?
Was everthing working well initially, and then suddenly this problem popped up, or has it been like this from the beginning?
Have you recently done any kind of modding or flashing to your phone prior to this?
Then, some diagnostic tests.
Do you have wifi?
If you do, Can you connect?
If you can, do your apps work well with the wifi connection?
Hi
Sorry i forgot to state this in first post.
Yes I have wifi and I when I'm connected to it everything works great.can connect to anything.
I did flash few ROMs while trying to fix this problem.no luck there.
And yes.it all started all of a sudden.before I was one happy DS owner.

Could you please go to Setting> Wireless & Networks> Mobile Networks and check if toggling Network mode helps?
Also make sure that you've selected the correct Access Point Name (The APN should say www)
Let me know what happens.
Nope.tried switching mobile networks on/off.nothing.airplane mode on/off also no luck.APN is right and I can confirm that cos I can browse Internet.it seems that downloading is fine but as soon I try "send something out" like email or tokens to connect to certain services it fails.

Must say i'm at a loss here. Usually whenever i have issues like this, going through the steps mentioned above rectifies it.
Sorry brother, i'm out of ideas here. Will try asking around for more. I hope someone with a better understanding of this will be able to help you out.
Best of luck!!
Thank you anyway.in this case any advise is good.i bet it's something stupid.
Have you tried different kernels? (Clutching at straws (but worth a punt)).
When you wipe before a clean install what do you do? Try the link in my sigi.
Any progress with your problem? If not I suggest you pm ben_pyett or olyloh or lowveld.
They're very good with this stuff and very helpful...

Hi guys.sorry I have been off the forum for a while.
This is totally strange.i found out that this is happening only at certain place.when I am at work problem is there but as soon as I get home everything works fine.it must be something related to cell I am connected to while in my work area.my colleague told me he is suffering from the same thing.he has HTC Desire HD and custom ROM on board and he is also 3UK customer.but what I don't understand at all is that my iPhone works like a charm using the same network.obviously I called customer service again and they claim there is nothing wrong with the network.
Thank you for all your suggestions guys.
Anyone else have flaky 3G mobile data after upgrading to MaximusHD rom?
I noticed when 3G works, it works fine, but it would lose network connection very randomly.
WOrking fine one minute and then not working the next.
Any ideas?
Posting here since I don't have 10 posts yet.

well I noticed webpages were sometimes not loading, just kind of stuck there not loading. This was on the default internet browser.
But I also noticed that I could have internet on a different app, say tapatalk. So, I installed titanium backup, froze internet browser and installed a different one from the play store. One Browser is the one I have chose.
Been a day and haven't had a single issue since.
I'm having this issue across all programs, not just the browser. I didn't even install the default browser to begin with. Darn. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

i am currently using Resurrection Remix 5.0.2 but was using cm12 nightlys before. The problem is that
the data connection is good but once i loose the connection there is an exclamation mark next to the
signal bar so i presume thats the data lost. It then wont connect again untill i reboot the phone.I have tried
switching on and off data but still no joy..This never happened on kitkat. I thought the problem was CM
related hence why i tried the RR rom but exactly the same is happening. Someone sugested that it could be
the sim card but im not so sure as it works fine before lollipop.I surely can't be the only one experiencing
this? but by the same token i can't find any info on it either ..maybe says something!!
Hope someone can help as i want to stay on lollipop i do like it, maybe the official release will sort it out.
Thank you

It's a ROM issue (radio.img). I was facing same problem on earlier builds of BlissPop ROM, but not no issues..
If you are getting exclamation mark in 2 or more ROMs, then there is problem with your sim-card or the network operator.
I suggest you to contact your concerned network operator and take his help for the same. (If you are facing same issue on 2 or more ROMs, try out Stock ROM CM11s)
Thank you for your reply, so would it be possible to flash a modem from kitkat or would there be compatibility issues with that?

did you check your network type and apn settings
So here is the latest update. I replaced the sim card on Saturday, the problem is is still there. I checked me APN settings they are three UK so that's ok. I've tried cm12,resurrection, blispop and now I'm on sabermod. I'm thinking this oneplus doesn't like lollipop, looks like I will have to revert to kitkat for just now until the official release comes out but I can't see that fixing the problem either as I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem.
Thank you for your help folks

I'm also with Three and have lost my data connection. They replaced the sim on Tuesday and I'm sure it worked until the old number swapped to the new sim. I have a 321 simcard on order and I'll try that once it arrives. My phone is still running Kitkat.
I had no problems with kitkat, if it lost the connection it automatically connected again when I was back in an area with a signal. But this has got me beat, a new sim card and too many roms to count but still the same problem. I am a lorry driver and cover the whole of Scotland and signal is patchy at best and it's annoying to find out later on in the day that data was off and you didn't receive any messages or emails.. Some of them important..

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm from Spain.
I've discovered that if i set network type to LTE it seems to work right.
Today I've moved from blisspop to temasek.
The 3g reconnect doesn't work, as always.
I turn data and wifi off when I sleep so tomorrow I will confirm if LTE works also with temasek.
my connection has always been set on LTE but never makes any difference
At the weekend I installed the official OxygenOs, I have been driving all day and had to reboot the phone 4 times because of this problem, I did half wish that when an official release came it would maybe sort out the problem but no joy. So I can only think it's to do with the oneplus. I'm at a loss now and seriously don't want to go back to kitkat but it looks like this will be the only solution to the problem..

I've tested this night again and if I set network to LTE.
The test I've done is.
- Turn off data and wifi before to sleep.
- Turn off only data when I woke up.
The connection was successful almost inmediately.
Greetings. I ran into similar issue with the CM12s update.
Once I lose the mobile signal for whatever reason, the data connection is not restored. Only way to regain it, is by restarting the phone (haven't tested airplane mode). Sometimes even if I leave WiFi on for long time (overnight), I will not have data connection after turning off the WiFi. I use HSPA connection only, not LTE.
I can not recall having this issue on KitKat. Issue was on the first CM12s update and remains on the second one, both were installed clean, so clean install of the ROM will not fix it. I am not using any custom ROMs or kernels, only TWRP recovery.
Has anyone had such issue and maybe found a solution to this?

Did you ever get this sorted? I've been having this issue, luckily I always have Wi-Fi at home/uni but there are times when it just won't find a Data connection. This happened right after the CM12 update :/

Well decided to a bit of searching, if you go into Settings -> Mobile Network Settings -> Network Operators and manually choose the network rather than the Auto Search option, it seems to have worked for me for the time being.
I am on the same boat as OP. The problems started after updating to Lollipop.
If anyone has found a solution, please let me know. I read about someone installing a 44S modem, but I'm unsure if this will permanently change system files (I wouldn't want it to) and I'm therefore hesitant.
Did you recently update to the newest cm13 and discovered that there was no cellular data reception? That happened to me recently and went 4 days going crazy trying to find a solution. Tried changing the DNS, even clean flashed the ROM, even switched apns, nothing worked. Finally found a solution and wanted to share with those who are also having this issue

I made this video to show you how I fixed this problem... [emoji119] enjoy
