Hi, so whenever I flash TWRP after installing my ROM, my data directory gets corrupted. When I try to mount it, it says "Structure needs cleaning". I've attempted to format it, and reinstall, but nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this?
When I open TWRP, it doesn't ask for my device password, doesn't show me any of the files in /sdcard.

I am not new to ROM's I have dabbled here and there with my phones and the xoom. I followed the directions to a t for the Omni 4.4.2. I did the first part for putting bigPart TWRP on my xoom. I have the recovery on there and I can find my SD card with the rom and other files on there needed but it will not load after I install everything. The internal storage still shows at 0. I get the Omni bootloader and then a message from google pops up saying encryption unsuccessful and I need to perform a factory reset. When I try that it just brings me back to recovery. I don't know what I did wrong but the only thing that works is recovery. It's like nothing at all is on the internal storage of the xoom. I have tried to copy the files from my sd card over to internal and install, same thing. When I go back to check the files I copied to internal they are gone. The files I have on the sd card are there but it won't load the files on the internal storage to set up android on there. I can't even go back to an old restore cause I was using cwm recovery and the those restore files aren't recognized. I'm at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't even get my computer to see so I can push the files over to it and I am pretty rusty with ADB to try and set that up.
I just tried to push the original twrp 2630 through adb and it flashed, I tried to reboot into recovery and it just staid at the twrp screen. Ughhh I'm getting so frustrated cause I had the xoom working perfectly on JB before I started messing around. Any help would be great, Even getting me back to stock and I can take it from there.

trying to give as much info as I can. I got the original twrp 2630 running, flash twrp big part, followed next step to to wipe everything except sdcard, this is what I got:
Updating partition details...
E:unable to mount '/system'
E:unable to mount '/cache'
E:failed to wipe dalvik
updating partition details...
E:unable to mount '/system'
E:unable to mount '/cache'
So, I wanted to install a custom ROM, but somewhere along the way something went wrong and I got stuck in a bootloop, I've been reading up on some threads and I followed some steps that were supposed to fix it, but I feel like I'm in even more trouble now (Well, my phone is still alive so I still have hope but yeah..)
Anyways, I'm using Philz custom recovery now, I tried to do a wipe to install a new or stock ROM, at first it said the wipe was succesful, so I tried installing the ROM, but during the install I kept getting:
E: Error mounting /data
It did say the installation was succesful, but after I rebooted it kept trying to wipe eventhough I did not ask for this.
Got another mount error and said Wipe Failed.
Now when I try to sideload stock ROM I get errors like:
Formatting Cache
Formatting /sd-exxt
E: Uknown volume for path /sd-ex
(I also don't know why it's doing that since this phone has no SD card) I got the Falcon edition with the internal storage. Also when my computer recognizes my phone and I want to open the phone folder, there is no longer an Internal Storage folder.
Anyways after those errors it says Data Wipe Complete, Wiping System, Now flash new ROM
But nothing flashes properly it seems due to the mounting error. I've looked for solution, but I can only seem to find threads that involve Samsung
and when I find a solution video it has something to do with either taking your battery out of your phone (which you can't do with this phone) or something
with your SD card (which this phone doesn't have).
So yeah, I'm running out of ideas here and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.

The phone has a virtual SD card.
I had a similar issue. Try flashing TWRP recovery and go to wipe > format data (THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA) then reboot recovery. Worth a shot if you're not able to use your phone. You can copy over SD card contents to a computer first via TWRP by mounting MTP, or use USB OTG..
Girlfriends Nexus 5 was started crashing whenever /data is accessed, from what I can perceive. I tried going into TWRP and wiping for a clean install of Pure Nexus, but it says unable to access /data folders and unable to mount /system and /persist. TWRP will say wipe success at top, but the phone will restart into android just fine. If I try to access Apps under settings it crashes, as well as other actions that seem to access /data. I can view /data files in TWRP file manager, though.
Currently attempting the restore nexus tool, but I'm open to any suggestions as to fix it.
Try flashing a stock rom manually in fastboot. Flash userdata.img last. After flashing userdata, immediately boot into stock recovery, perform a full wipe, and reboot.
The computer doesn't acknowledge the phone is connected in Fastboot mode, I'm wondering if it's because of Win10, going to try it on the Win7 desktop and see what happens.
Was able to fix it on the Win7 computer, problem solved!
Can't flash anything through recovery. (failed to mount "/cpefs" (Invalid Response)
I recently got this phone and I've been trying to install a custom rom, however, I can't seem to do anything while using TWRP. For some reason the file explorer shows no files and no /storage folder. It also says that the /system partition weights 0MB. I've already tried formatting the /data partition from EXT4 to extFAT, but it won't let me because it cannot mount the "/cpefs" partition, which I've been unable to find any information about.
I can flash the stock firmware trough ODIN, and I can flash the recovery. The internal storage works fine, but nothing shows up when I open TWRP.
I've tried formatting the data partition, repairing it, changing the partition format, wiping, installing a custom rom, installing superSU. But it won't allow me to do any of those things. Either "/data" can't be mounted, or "/cpefs" can't be mounted while formatting /data.

Which phone you're using?
J7 Pro?
Secondly make sure to enable OEM unlock options from the stock ROM's Developer option!
Thirdly check the recovery patches etc of the desired recovery's webiste (you're using) and flash it through the recovery if you're facing the problem!
It'll work, mostly some users said they fixed this by the above mentioned step!
If no luck, maybe someone will sort it out for ya, soon!
Good Luck! :good:

Thanks for your reply. The model of the phone is SM-J710MN. The OEM unlock option is enabled, otherwise I wouldn't be able to flash the recovery. I am trying to use TWRP. Where would I find a recovery patch for this model?. Everything works fine in the recovery, but it won't let me wipe/format/repair or change ANY partition. It can't mount anything, and the error that I see the most often is that it cannot mount the /cpefs partition.

try flashing a lower version of the same frimware you've already installed e.g if the latest is nougat 7.1.1 with the recent security update, try flashing with another nougat version that is lower to the recent one's security patch #
Hi guys,
so the problem is that i cant flash SuperSu thats located on my phone memory because the TWRP is showing 0 MB,also i am unable to mount the storage in TWRP. I tried different solutions that i found on this forum( set a lock pattern,PIN,wipe/format data, change file system ) but none have worked, TWRP newer even asks for a password. Also when i try to format the data in TWRP i get the "unable to mount data,system..." error. Is there another way to flash SuperSU without TWRP, because i also tried sideloading it but it failed?
I'm betting your device is encrypted. Which is always am issue.
Any solutions i could try ?
bump?
