OneUI4 comes with hidden installed Swiftkey. - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

So I spoted on my Note 20 Ultra after updating to OneUI 4 beta it comes with Microsoft Swiftkey Keyboard. So question is OneUI moved to swiftkey keyboard or Samsung Keyboard is aka Swiftkey Keyboard?

When I bought my device, it aleeady came preinstalled with Swiftkey although Samsung Keyboard was the default keyboard.

Strange why should be installed two keyboards. One is enought and if user doesn't like default then it is user choice which one to install.

Maybe Microsoft pays Samsung to install Swiftkey to promote their keyboard.

SwiftKey has always been there. I use it and I find it better than Samsung's keyboard

For ny country there isnt any swift keyboard (which sucks,)

In that case, just install it manually (.apk file)......

I don't think that SwiftKey was pre-installed on my S22 Ultra but I've just seen that it has a "Disable" button instead of "Uninstall" in the app info. Only way to deinstall it is through the Play Store i think. I'm using SwiftKey since 2014. and it's the best experience I've had with a keyboard. Samsung has partnered with Microsoft so it isn't strange something like this would happen.

[Q] swype vs shapewriter

Anyone have any feelings on this?
I've tried swype and loved it, is there any benefit of shapewriter?
I prefer Shapewriter. Easier to select alternate words and numbers.
All these keyboards need is a back/forward arrow. Anyone listening?
I prefer Shapewriter because the popup on Swype is annoying. Swype has better sound (I don't use sound, though) and better UI, but that's not enough for me to pick Swype over Shapewriter. They're pretty much the same thing. I don't notice a huge speed difference with either one.
Also Ultrakeyboard is another one, been using this today and prefer it to swype, haven't used shapewriter in a long time to compare, but thought I would offer another option.
I prefer the ShapeWriter final (v3.09) too. I just upgraded to the newest Swype beta the other day, and it's still buggy and quirky. How long does it take to finish it? I haven't tried Ultrakeyboard. I'll look at it.
I installed the latest Swype Beta and also find it buggy, it's been a while since I last tried ShapeWriter but I always found it better then Swype. I haven't tried Ultrakeyboard yet but I'll try this out.
I actually like "Graffiti for Android" very much; which has gotten better at predictive text, almost as good as "StrokeKeyboard". I also find both "Graffiti for Android" and "StrokeKeyboard" faster and more accurate then any of the 'Swype-type' keyboards (Swype/ShapeWriter/Ultrakeyboard).
EDIT: I just installed and tried out "Ultrakeyboard" and it is definitely way better then both "Swype" and "Shapewriter"..."Ultrakeyboard" has to be the best of the 'Swype-Type' keyboards. That said I still prefer "Graffiti for Android".
honestly, its just a personal preference. i've used swype and slideit and i swear by swype. also i had a friend who loves swype and he's used slideit.
so, i would recommend you try all different options and stick with the one you actually like, because everyone will just tell you that whatever they're using is the best

An Update I have installed the following Keyboards:
1. Swype beta
2. Android Keyboard
3. Graffiti
4. SwiftKey Beta
5. Ultra Keyboard
For the Swype-Type Keyboard I find Ultra Keyboard the best.
SwiftKey is the best for predictive text on a typing-type keyboard
and Graffiti is the best for a fun old school Stroke-Type keyboard (the other good option is StrokeKeyboard)
Thanks much for the reviews!

Swype on note 10.1?

I check this tablet @bb today. It does not have Swype.
Any way to instal it?

Here ya go! You can download the installer from here.
http://beta.swype.com/
I have the above installed but have noticed that when trying to use on S note or Polaris, it does not function properly whereby when you Swype words, they don't appear on the app and if you try to delete, it does not do anything.
It works on all other apps but seems to fail on some Samsung optimised apps. Let me know if you have the same issues one installed.
Also just want to let you know that you can use Swype functionality on the standard keyboard that comes with the Note 10.1 and is very accurate too however we cannot have the minimised keyboard like Swype and for this reason, does not feel the same. The editing options are also much better on Swype.
It has a Swype-like feature built in. I've been using it and like it. Especially with the floating mini-keyboard. Just turn on "continuous typing" in the Samsung keyboard settings. I've been playing with T9 predictive typing and I like that too.
found it

Go to their website to install it. I did and it works great.
Is there a way to enable additional languages on top of English and Spanish?
The add languages menu for not seem to work
Ok disregard, out works
Ok typing from Swype now but lost the Samsung multi clipboard...which is useful
Edit: no it is still there this is independent from the keyboard
Does this function exists somewhere in Swype?

I have been using the swype. For almost 2 years on my galaxy s mesmerize for a couple years and love it. I couldn't stand the continuous type on my beautiful new tablet. I have been using the beta swype the past week and find out much more accurate. Is this the closest thing to the swype on my galaxy s? I do like the beta swype , and I'm sure will get used to it, but still prefer the galaxy swype
I tried beta swype and the swype apk from my Galaxy Note. One was super buggy and the other just wouldn't install. I don't particularly like the built-in swype-like (continuous typing) feature in the Samsung keyboard as it's not good with prediction and gives me errors most of the time.
The latest version, Swype 1.3, works great on the Note 10.1. It even allows you to resize the keyboard on the fly! So glad to have Swype once again, and I can now disable continuous text input in the Samsung keyboard.

Do you use S8+ stock keybaord or SwiftKey or Gboard?

Do you use S8+ stock keybaord or SwiftKey or Gboard? if you use different keyboard can you give reason?
Been using SwiftKey for many years now. It almost feels like the stock keyboard for me. I have tested a few others, but I keep coming back to SwiftKey.
Cant specify exactly why, it just feels right.
SwiftKey for sure. Gboard isnt for me.
The stock I like but the question mark in a bad position. I had to go back to SwiftKey and I don't know why it took me so long to do so.
swift all the way it keeps my settings and spellings i cant live with out it...
Swype for me...
Swiftkey for me too, been using it for ages on loads of devices, it's the first app I download on a new phone.
Would like to try Gboard but the not syncing my dictionary due to the samsung security is a deal breaker for me
Samsung stock on S8 plus is pretty good I used Gboard but again jump to Samsung keyboard I hope I can change its white color to back!
Gboard is a king of keyboards for me.
I'm trying out cheetah keyboard for a few days now and I like it so far.

Umm.. you do have sync on Gboard...
Gboard, because it can correct three languages at the same time without having to switch.
I tried swift and liked it but came back to Gboard.

Ummm could you tell me how?
Unless I have missed something, the option to sync my keyboard is greyed out and cannot be enabled. Did some searching and apparently it is a samsung issue

same problem here Gboard can't save sync my words.....seem's like Samsung Knox blocked it
GBoard, because I type quickly and the other keyboards always tend to have some issue keeping up with me, but not GBoard. It's as close to Swiftkey being fast as I'm ever going to get. Also, it's one of the many keyboards that can run on most any device without issues or lag despite a lower-end device.
So I've used Swiftkey for years, but for some reason on my S8 its been causing it to freeze overnight. I didn't think it was the issue but as soon as i removed it, i stopped getting the freezing issue. Been using GBoard and its the closest so far to Swiftkey, but i still really miss it...

gboard because Gif, search and synch with my G-Account
but i prefer smasung keyboard because the clipboard really useful
Swype for me, been using since the beginning of android. Many themes, multi-language support (able to literally change language in 2sec flat), Bilingual, Swype gestures, swiping word prediction is very accurate imo after i tried the others, it is nowhere near Swype.
Con: I just dislike their Nuance/Dragon dictation voice if only it could change it to Google voice.

Gboard synch with my G-Account how?
Gboard, works great for me, light, simple and the stock dark theme that comes with it looks great.
Dictionary sync works great across 2 devices, so I'm a happy camper.

Is there an app or safe apk I can use to get an IOS keyboard?

I have tried using gboard and samsung keyboard but it constantly misspells words and so on. I wanted to try cheetah keyboard among a couple others and they all ask for internet access which I was told to avoid. Does anyone know how to safely get an IOS keyboard on android? If not maybe a GOOD and SAFE IOS launcher. Thanks.
Try SwiftKey keyboard. And no you can't port iOS keyboard.. iOS is iOS and android is Android
