Question How to restore my X3 pro to factory defaults? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hi,
I bought an X3 pro with a global rom, but as I really need a call recorder I have installed the xiaomi 12.5.1 rom. I'm really not an expert on phones but somehow I managed to do it. Also for whatever reasons I had the magisk manager installed as well which I have never really wanted to use.
I was pretty happy with the phone when on one day (ironically a day after I have just checked if my phone is rooted) my phone said I can't use NFC payments anymore. So I have decided to try some magic and fix the problem myself. Again, I'm not an expert but as far as I understood I have a problem with safety-net which I have managed to solve by installing magisk and setting up modules as I have seen on youtube.
Now my phone passes the safety-net check and my phone in the play app says its certified but I still can't pay with NFC and some of the banking apps are not working anymore which is pretty bad for me.
So the question I have in escence: how can I really restore my phone to the factory default 12.5.1 eu rom? I mean I dont need TWRP or anything unlocked, I'd just like to be a regular joe without superuser rights.
Thanks a lot for your help.
ps: not sure if that matters, but if I hit the update button or I'd like to perform a factory reset on my phone then it boots into TWRP.

Uninstall Magisk or Use Magiskhide also your Banking app hide it on the Magiskhide and playstore,

Just MiFlash stock ROM.

Thanks for responding. I have tried hiding Magisk, but that didnt help me with my banking apps. Then I have uninstalled it which made things even worse cause some other programs started to complain. As the phone was not rooted anymore (I guess) I thought it can't be anything except the unlocked bootloader so I had the genius idea to type something like 'adb oem lock' which immediately bricked my phone saying 'the system is destroyed'.
I was very lucky that I remembered that xiaomi unlocker tool which opened the bootloader and that magically still worked and my phone booted to TWRP. From there I just installed an EU ROM and now everything works perfectly fine.
So overall I spent about 20h with unlocking, intalling a new ROM, rooting etc and then another 10 with reinstalling the original ROM plus reinstalling my apps again! Kudos to me going back to square one

I have the newer Model LGL16C/4.4.2/Baseband version M8610B-AAAANAZM-1.0.6060/Kernel version 3.4.0+/Build KOT49I.L16CV11a/Software version L16CV11a/"Lucky". Service provider is Tracfone, aka Crapfone. Attempts to root with Kingroot as well as Kingoroot failed, including several apps which claim to root your phone. I paid less than $10 US dollars for this phone and rooting it isn't high on my priority list, however rooting the damn thing has presented a bit of a challenge.
A working guide to rooting this phone would be great.

Hey so i spent forever trying ro find a root that would work on this. Or a custom ROM anything really. Try going into McAfee Security, setting up an account, go to settings and disable the lock down device option. That was the problem for me at least McAfee was blocking any root from installing. From there i rooted my lucky with kingroot one click root. Hope this helps!
The Easiest Way To Root Your LG Lucky Without a PC
Easy way to install SuperSU on your LG Lucky
Just follow directions
Use KingRoot 4.5.0 app - google KingRoot apk all versions. Download and install apk.
Google replace kingroot with supersu. There will be a few sites popup, Mediafire is where the original .zip file is hosted. You can even search "how to replace/remove kingroot with supersu" here on XDA for more info.
Once you have downloaded the .zip file be sure to extract it to your INTERNAL sd, the script in the zip will not work from your external sd.
Open the extracted file and copy the mrw file to the internal storage, the path should look like /storage/emulated/0/mrw.
Now go to the play store, download and install Terminal Emulator. I use the one by Jack Palevich as it is only 551kb and easy to use.
Open the terminal emulator and type "su" in order to grant super user permission to the emulator,
On the next line type "/system/bin/sh - /storage/emulated/0/mrw/root.sh" and press enter.
Now the script will run and open up SuperSU automatically. Install binary when prompted with the "normal" option. Choose yes when it asks if you want to delete other superuser apps. (this removes kingroot).
Before rebooting phone, go into the settings of SuperSU and enable pro mode, change icon if you wish, enable survival mode, enable su during boot. I think you have to restart app at this point, can't remember as I did this months ago. Then restart the SuperSU app, go back into settings to Install SuperSU into system. Reboot phone,
When phone reboots, this is when Kingroot is finally uninstalled. Your phone will still be rooted with SuperSU. At this point you may wish to update SuperSU as this is version 2.46 and the newest version is 2.71 Beta. You can get the newest version of SuperSU from the thread here on XDA.
(thanks MrWolf for the script to make the change and thank you Chainfire for SuperSU, FlashFire, CF.lumen, etc...)
LGL-16C successfully (so far) rooted using Kingoroot.exe (latest version). Had to change from mtp to camera on USB then was recognized. Have SuperSU 2.72, SuperSU Pro, BusyBox Pro, and Xposed installed with Xblast and Lucky Patcher running. No custom recovery or roms available and I have searched hi and lo. Was a Net10 $15 phone with nothing to lose, so...will try more stuff out another day and post again.

Hi. Could you tell me how you installed supersu after rooting with kingroot? Thanks
Well I have root and supersu installed but it won't update binary. Any help out there? Thanks
Hey everybody. I did it!! Just root with kingroot 4.5 and replace kinguser with super sume. Worked great. All kingroot stuff is gone!! Ive rebooted 3 times to make sure and all is good.
Well if anyone is interested in looking at the source code, lg support has downloads available for nearly every phone they've ever made.
http://opensource.lge.com/osList/list?m=Mc001&s=Sc002
The file for the LGL16C is on page 2. Every thing seems to be listed alphabetically so it's easy to locate.
I still have my lucky and actually use it often although I no longer have it activated.
@ cecnwv,
Thanks for the link. Using Ares 11 and got "IP banned for 6 hours, try again later" after dbl tppng yellow icon. I did something wrong. Not at my PC. (unfortunately)
Thanks for any enlightenment,

Has anyone made a complete backup of their system apps using Titanium Backup? Being that one can't use fastboot/download mode (this phone has it locked out and a special USB cable is required) so my backup options were limited. I thought I did a full backup with Titanium Backup, but apparently lost it as I only found a small partial one on my PC.
Issue is I had uninstalled some bloatware and integrated updates for a few apps. But after factory resetting the phone it is behaving a bit odd. The notification bar doesn't really work anymore (apps still able to use sound/vibration to make a notification, but nothing appears in the notification bar) and I am unable to call the phone because it never rings and it immediately goes to voice mail. So the phone app is borked too.
Plus soft button to the right of the home button (I forget what it's called) doesn't bring up the app history anymore so I can't close background apps. (the volume buttons also don't really do anything anymore. Normally using them causes the volume bar for ringtone to appear and if using a media app, the volume bar for media audio comes up instead. But now nothing happens).
The phone is in a pretty broken state and even doing app updates from Play Store doesn't work anymore. Was gonna try and look around if someone has some app/data backup of the system apps installed. This is a TracFone branded phone and is currently running Android 4.4.2 (Kernel version 3.4.0+). Which is the last Android update they made for this phone.
Perhaps there's a single service/app that is responsible for notifications/volume bar that is borked. But I have no idea which system app is broken so a full app restore is my next best option.
The first thing wrong I noticed after resetting it was that the intial setup screen would return everytime I rebooted the phone. (only way i could get that to stop was freezing it in Titanium Backup). So maybe related to that app somehow. I don't recall ever uninstalling/merging update data for that perticular app though so it's probably a side effect of a different app going haywire.
EDIT:
Ok looks like I resolved the issue. I just removed the LGStartupWizard.apk then did a factory reset via Volume Down+Power button combo. It boots straight to home menu now and everything works. I guess the LG setup wizard thing got borked somehow. No more setup wizard but verious things like google account and whatnot can be configured manually via settings so no real loss.
All the missing things like the app history button, lock screen, notification bar, etc are now working as a result of resetting after removing LGSetupWizard.apk.

Awesome, this worked for me too, though the issue wasn't exactly the same. When I got the phone it had already been rooted with Kingo at some point and I noticed after resetting it that I had similar problems (it may have had the issues before the factory reset too, I just didn't notice one way or the other). Anyway, I was getting slightly different misbehavior. No recents key, yes, but also no response from the Home key. Pull-down notifications bar was mostly working, but with no visible notifications and I couldn't press the Setup "gear" in top right. My volume buttons and Play Store were fine, though, but I'd noticed that when I tried further factory resets (from the menu, not via hard reset) that it wasn't "really" resetting, as any downloaded files/etc. remained on the phone. I'd tried freezing LGSetupWizard already, but as you noted, that doesn't fix it for whatever reason. Deleting altogether does. Yay. I do wonder what the hell is happening during the root or reset that triggers this problem, though. It behaves as if Setup Wizard was just never completed, so you remain "locked out" of most of the same functions that are unavailable during setup normally. Oh well.
Anyway, as old ten-dollars-or-less type phones go, this isn't the worst I've ever used by a long shot. Heck, it's arguably better than a few other slightly bigger/newer/pricier crap-phones out there! (Looking at you, ZTE Legacy/Quest...) FWIW, I had "ripped" all of the APKs from /system/app and /priv-app for some reason back when I first got this thing, so if they'd be of use to anyone I'll be happy to upload all or individual files. Hell, if anyone can tell me how to do a full ROM dump I'd be happy to do that too, because there's definitely still no official stock image available online that I could find a trace of. (Granted, I don't know if there'd be any way to utilize a non-official backup image anyway or turn it into a flashable KDZ, but that's not my point...)
Thank you, I got my lucky rooted! I'm wondering if anyone ever found any custom ROMs or recoveries for this device. It seems like this was never popular for any of that, but thought I'd ask. Thanks.

[HELP] Honor 8 rooted on Nougat, but can't delete system apps!

Hi guys. First of all sorry if i'm writing in the wrong section. I have a problem with my Honor 8 (FRD-L09) updated to Nougat. Today i've decided to unlock the bootloader and root it. I managed to unlock the phone via Huawei official unlock bootloader method, then i've pushed the latest twrp (3.1.0-1-frd) by cmd. All was going fine. After that i've probably downloaded an old version of Superuser, the phh SuperUser r275 and installed it. I've downloaded Phh's Supersu application from playstore, installed busybox (by Jrummy) and i was able to use various apps that required supersu just fine. But i faced a lot of problems when trying to uninstall system apps. For example, i wished to uninstall "Maps" with System app remover and it shows me that the app was correctly uninstalled and in fact it disappeared from the list, then i rebooted and the app was still there! Tried again with System app remover with the same app and this time even if the app showed "successfully uninstalled" it was still there. Then i tried Root Essentials, Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, SD Maid but i was unlucky with them all. Always problems and errors. In particular, Root Explorer, after mounted the system for r/w, shows "unable to delete the file". These problems appears with all the system apps. I don't know what's going on, i've never had this problems with my old S2 plus. Hope some of you can help me. What i have to do? Uninstall phh's superuser? If yes how can i do it? Can't find any uninstaller zip around the web. Or i need to install "SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815-EMUI5.0" attached in the TWRP post? Can i overwrite phh's superuser script with this? Is safe? Will it work? I'm very desperate, please help me.
P.S. I basically followed this guide: "http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-honor-8-nougat-twrp-phh-superuser/" but using the new twrp. Don't ask me why...i can't explain why i did this stupid thing.
Rooting the honor 8 just sucks. It's pretty much a crapshoot.
Try the TWRP and special SuperSU from this thread, and let me know if it works.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/twrp-t3566563
I'm in the same boat, I rooted nougat before but didn't actually have r/w permissions. So I've been waiting to re-root until huawei patched their bugs, but it doesn't seem like that will happen.
Best of luck.

Barclays Mobile App NOT working on Rooted S8

Hello there
I am running a custom ROM on my Galaxy S8 and it is rooted using Magisk rather than SuperSU. SnapChat works fine with Magisk as it does not detect the root, however I've tried everything with the Barclays Mobile App but I just get stuck on the first screen and nothing happens afterwards.
At first it used to ask me to grant it root permissions and of course I did, but it has never actually worked.
I am not completely sure, but I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that my device is rooted.
Can someone please shed some light on this? I really need to get this application working as it is important for me. Do I have to go back to completely stock in order to use this application?
Thanks!
yes, it doesn't work on rooted devices. One of the ways that it tries to detect root is by trying to get root, as it happened in you case. By granting it root access, you marked your phone as rooted, and disabled the app. In case you were wondering, it has many other ways to detect root. It used to work with magisk hide, but I tried just today, and it seems that they can detect it too, as I can't use it anymore. By the way, your phone is flagged as rooted, and you will either have to do a factory reset to get it working, or call Barclays, but I think that there is no way to get it working. If you find out how to get it to work, please share it.

OOS and Magisk loosing root

Hi there,
I like OxygenOS but there is a problem that's really annoying to me.
I'm rooted with the latest magisk canary build, however everytime when I don't use the phone for some time, for example when I'm going to sleep and the phone is loading,
I keep loosing root access with magisk.
On a terminal it's always telling me that the daemon is not running and Magisk Manager tells me that I'm not rooted.
However to fix this, I just need to reboot the phone and I'm good to go again.
This is extremely annoying, because I'm using the Input Power Control module to limit the maximum charge amount for the battery.
However if the Magisk daemon is getting killed, this module doesn't work anymore either so it's ignoring the aforementioned maximum charge amount.
I saw in the xXx ROM thread that there was a possible fix for this included, however it has been removed again since it did not work.
On OOS I'm mostly running with SmurfKernel and the xXx and Renove ICE roms but they don't seem to help with this problem.
On custom roms I don't have this issue as they seem to be less aggressive at killing background tasks than OOS.
Does anyone else have this problem or an idea on how to prevent the loss of the root access? It seems OOS is killing the magisk daemon, is there any way to prevent this?
I think I used to have a similar issue where one of my A/B slots was rooted but the other was not. So if magisk was not working then a reboot (which I believe switches to the other slot) would fix the problem until the phone either shut off or restarted (this would cause the slot to switch back to the broken one).
The only recommendation I have is to back up your data, factory reset the device, and re-do the whole process. If anyone else has some good ideas I'd try those first.

Thanks for the recommendation, however I have reset my OP7Pro countless times already and that is the one problem that seems to persist over every reset. I don't know if its a problem of Magisk or OOS, but I believe it's OOS related,
cause the Magisk daemon is getting killed and I don't think that Magisk is killing itself

Rooted or unrooted? Im desperate for a solution

Hi guys. Im really hoping someone can help me here. This is my first post here so dont hate.
So I've been using this op6 since a year now.
My main issue- Unrooted but cant use some apps and games. They all crash because im supposedly rooted.
Tried installing the mario kart tour today. Had a similar issue with pokemon go so had to stop playing. Some banking apps refuse to work (axis bank). And most importantly Fortnite. This was the first app i tried installing on my phone after buying it. Crashed right after i jumped from the bus.
Confirmed facts about my phone to make this a faster process:
Unrooted (checked on root checker)
Developer options switched off
Oem locked
Passed safety net check from the app on playstore
Bought from the official oneplus store. Brand new out of the box.
Receiving latest OTA updates.
No supersu installed
Latest security patch updated via ota
Any information regarding this would be highly appreciated. I have nowhere else i would be able to explain this scenario.
Thanks
Try to install Magisk (if rooted) and select app or game in "Magisk hide" to say your smartphone is not rooted
If not rooted look if you're installed last update of Android système webview in Google play store.
I'm not rooted. Infact my bootloader is still locked. Magisk wont work right?
Im wondering what exactly could be triggering the false positive on these games.
Android system webview is disabled
Maybe a Magisk folder is still on your device. Search for "Magisk" folder in file manager and if you find anything, delete it.
Nah buddy! No magisk was ever installed on the device. A deep search for such a folder yielded no results.
Someone help please!
Try turning off developer options. I've seen some apps which refuse to work with them on (Marrow). Just an idea

Ok you need to figure out if you have an app that is causing this installed. I recommend you do a factory reset, do not install any backups or apps when you go through initial setup, and then install and try any of your "problem apps" one at a time to see if they work.

Thanks man. I thought that was gonna be a last resort thing. Might as well try it if nothing else is going to work out.
