[Q] How to link facebook photos to contacts with Android 2.3 gingerbread?

join the contacts first then edit contact and tap on the foto either facebook or skype and select "use this photo"
Hi Korvinc. The thing is actually how to join the contacts? It easy to change the photo but how do I actually join my contacts with facebook and skype contacts?
Open contact > choose edit from option menu > choose join from the option menu. that's I mean.
Or I actually don't understand what you need.

hey
is there a way to do the same thing on android 2.2.???i have darkstones superram
Have you tried downloading the Facebook for Android by Facebook?
Go to your Settings > Accounts and Sync > Add Facebook account
Sync your contact with existing friends or all friends then that should link them if their email info matches with their contacts in your Google Contacts address book.
Guys i figured it out. On gingerbread just go to the contact u want to link and go to edit, once u in that window hit the menu button again, the link option should pop up aswell as the unlink option.
hey, thanks for this! been trying to figure it out for days.

lMessaging Picture ID

Is there a way to get the Facebook icons to show up as the caller id picture in the messaging app. Works fine on my previous Android phoned. Got the contacts linked to there Facebook profile and it shows there Facebook picture in the phonebook but not in the messaging app for some reason.
In the contact file listing where you can see all the merged google and Facebook info if you long press on the displayed Facebook picture and select 'use this picture' it should change to that Facebook user's current profile picture.

You could also download the app "SyncMyPix" this did the trick for me!

[Q] How to Stop HTC Calendar Synching Facebook Events

Hi guys,
My Facebook calendar events, including birthdays, keep getting displayed in my HTC calendar. Is there anyway to stop this?
I have tried the following:
1) Settings - Accounts and Sync - Facebook for HTC Sense - Sync Calendar (unticked)
2) HTC Calendar - Settings - Apply Settings to - untick facebook
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Try launching the calendar app ; you have an arrow pointing down on the top right corner of the screen. Click on it, untick Facebook. It should do the trick...

That is also my suggestion, too bad I only read it now after I have searched for so long.
Is there anybody who knows how I can get my facebook contact out of the list when I choose telephone. I managed to get them out of my contacts but thats probably a different list...
Thanks!
You mean all your Facebook friends show up in your contacts list? I believe that is something you can fix in the Facebook app settings : you have to set it so that it synsmcs only with your contacts with a phone number. You can also set it to not sync at all, if that suits you better.

I did that and it works when I go to my contacts list. The problem is that when I choose the telephone button there is a different, bigger list and there they all are..
launch the android facebook app then keep hitting the back button until you get to the page where it says notification at the bottom, click the menu button then settings, at the very bottom where it says other settings select that and choose don't sync then close the app. If your facebook contacts still appear on your phone then you have to go to menu>>settings>>Accounts and sync, then delete all facebook accounts. Launch the facebook android app again and re-enter your user ID and password. Do the same for the friend stream widget if you use that. This should erase all facebook contacts from your phone.

[How-To] Get The Latest Facebook UI (With Updates)

Hey everyone, the new Facebook UI is out for alpha testers! If you want to get the new Facebook UI and get all the Play Store updates once they come out, follow the steps below.
I know there are some posts that give the APK, this method allows you to get the latest updates from Facebook itself without you having to sideload the new APK everyday.
First you want to ensure that you aren’t part of a beta testing group for Facebook. If you are, head to the beta tester Google Group and click on the settings. Here, simply choose to leave the group.
Now you want to become an alpha tester, which you can do by joining this Google Group. On your internet browser, click on link to the Alpha Tester Group and then choose ‘join group’.
Ensure that the information on the popup window is correct, like your display name and email address. Choose to join this group.
Now, as part of the alpha testers group, you will be brought to a welcome page. Follow the instructions to get the new UI.
Visit this link and click Become a Tester.
Uninstall the Facebook app on your device by going into the settings of your device, then Manage applications, swipe to All, and scroll down until you find Facebook. Tap on the app and select uninstall.
Open the Play Store app in your browser and re-install Facebook by choosing Update or Install.
Turn on automatic updates, because they will be updating alpha multiple times per week.
Log into Facebook on your phone after installation.
Note: If you don’t see the new UI on your phone, you might just need to go back into the Settings and the Facebook App info page under Applications Manager, and then Clear data.

Maybe it doesn't have permissions set properly?
Or, maybe you need verify that the "draw over other apps" setting is set to allow messenger to draw over other apps.
