Any ROMs have an ambient mode? - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't let this tablet go just yet.... Other than a digital photo frame, I thought I might try it as a smart screen in the kitchen. Further to that, does any rom have ambient mode ported?
Thanks

[Q] Camera brightness issue Gingerbread

I am having this issue using the camera app on my Sense 3.0 ROM for the Evo.
I've noticed this on all Gingerbread based ROMs.
The camera app does this thing where it increases the brightness upon clicking on the app, and reduces it after exiting.
This is problematic for me, because I am a college student who uses my phone to take pictures of presentations in class. It is distracting for other students, especially in a dimly lit PowerPoint setting, to see a bright phone lifted up so that I can take a picture.
There are already enough idiots out there with their Macs on full brightness, I don't want to be part of that problem.
Same thing happens to my Desire : screen goes full bright when in Camera.
I have tried digging in the camera settings to see if there is a way to turn it off, but I cannot seem to do so.
Do you know of any way to turn that off.
I'm sure this is helpful when you are outdoors and suddenly need to grab a picture, but it isn't in my case.

It's not an issue it's built in to Gingerbread, just like the TV off animation...Google probably figured you'll need max brightness to use the cam, to help with viewing the screen. There's nothing you can do, if you change the brightness in settings, it doesn't change the cam setting.
But you can turn off animations if you want to.

Yeah, but the camera thing can't be toggled, perhaps you can ask a dev to take a look into the source code, there should be information on how to change the brightness there.
LOL, I don't have enough posts to post in a dev thread.

Custom Vibration and Ambient Brightness

All,
Trying to make the S2 work, I really like it, and I had some questions (although there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic here). First, is there a program to create custom vibration patterns for alerts? For some of mine, (At Bat is a great example) there are no vibration alerts at all. It's there, but it doesn't alert me to it. Baseball season and all, it would be nice to get something, anything, when there is a score change. There are some other apps as well, and I can't find any setting in the Gear app. Is it possible?
Battery life is a struggle for me. I've disabled WiFi, and dialed the screen brightness to 4, but I want a watch to be a watch, so I use ambient mode. I think one of the challenges is ambient mode is brighter than the active watch face. I think I read here there are no user settings for us, but I wanted to check. You could reduce the screen brightness by half and it would still be fine for me. Coming from AW, it seems a basic setting.
Any help would be appreciated!

No brightness setting for dim mode in Android Wear. On my LG-R dim mode is brighter than active mode

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I have a Moto360 2nd gen, and that flat tire everyone moans about works pretty well as a sensor, so it scales the brightness so I don't have to. Without a sensor, I guess you'd be in the same boat.

Disabling ambient mode dimming

Hello, new user here, I got a Watch 2 Sport after a few years with a LG G Watch R.
I was surprised to see that the screen seems to have 4 modes, instead of the canonical 2 modes (ambient mode and interactive mode): after a few seconds of inactivity in interactive mode, for a second the screen dims while still in interactive mode, then transitions to ambient mode, while still being dimmed. When woken up again, it "undims" itself while still in ambient mode for a second, then transitions into interactive mode. Picture explanation: https://i.imgur.com/0mUcIyb.jpg
The main problem I have with this is that the "dimmed ambient mode" is really dim, and basically makes the ambient mode useless except in very dark environments... Does anyone know of a way to disable the dimming or, at least, set the brightness level of this dimmed mode? It seems to be unaffected by the screen brightness settings...
I use a custom watch face, so even if the solution involves changing some code in the watch face it would still be very welcome; however, I have not found any mention of this "feature" in the android wear documentation...

which custom face app do you use? i've used watchmaker, but that doesn't seem to dim - just pauses the second hand. thus, I'm stuck using the stock watch faces, as the dimmed look is classier/more practical, but the regular faces are not very good.
I don't use anything like watchmaker, I use a watch face that I developed from scratch in Android Studio... By the way, I tried installing Watchmaker and I tried one of the free watch faces, and it does, indeed, dim (https://i.imgur.com/q3pGRWi.jpg), so I'm not sure what you mean.

i'll send some screenshots later this week. but I'd like the watchmaker face to dim like stock.

so yes, technically, you are correct - it does dim. I guess I meant for it to transition to ambient mode like stock. does the one that you developed to that? i've been looking for a watch face like stock, but with a more legible calendar widget.

Ambient Mode?

What are the odds that ambient mode gets ported into OPO ROMs? I'd love to start using my phone as a Google hub of sorts.
It looks like Ambient Mode is built into the Google app. Do you think it could be turned on for OPO just by editing build.prop?

rotate the AOD? + what is sunlight-booster?

heya good day!
i am working on reusing this second hand xperia 5 ii as a car dash computer.
getting pretty close. I've managed to rotate apple music and edit it's scaling to be fit for landscape use.
i also need to try and get the always on display rotated.
but i cant seem to find the package or whatever is responsible for the AOD
in setting's it's called ambient display. but even with those search tag's i couldn't find the process..
does anyone know what the package name is for sony's AOD? or perhaps know how to modify the AOD to be usable in landscape?
while searching i did find something interesting. a package called "Sunlight-booster"
i did notice whenever i have my brightness maxed. and i then move the phone into a bright light. the display boosts the brightness.
is there a way to get that extra bit of brightness on the normal brightness slider? or to manually activate the extreme brightness?
since this will be mounted in a car's dash. the sensor might never actually face direct sunlight. while the screen could still be hard to see. so I'd like to make it a tad more sensitive.
Thank you in advance!
