my locked phone need vpn in order to verify password - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, I carelessly wipe out all data without log out Mi account first. Now my phone is locked in Chinese language and it needs to verify password online.
I remember my password and can log in from other phone browser with vpn. I don't want to reset my password. What should I do?
TIA
Edit: I got it by connected to operator wifi.

[Q] Bootloader & recovery security

Is there a way how to set a password or PIN lock for the bootloader or at least the recovery? There's been a lot of break ins in my area lately and when someone steals my phone, I wanna make sure that it will be rendered completely useless (Including IMEI blacklist) and non-recoverable.Is there a way how can be bootloader & recovery locked so a thief can't access the recovery without a password or a PIN lock and thus not able to reset the phone to factory settings?
So far, any anti-theft software I've seen doesn't have this ability and can be easily removed by factory data reset

I believe, but not sure, that TWRP has a PIN code system
You should try Cerberus or avast!, with root they can lock into the system which means the thief has to reflash an FTF file
EDIT
Nope, TWRP doesn't have PIN protection. If you want to secure your phone, some tips:
1. Make sure the on/off menu cannot be opened when the phone is locked.
2. Make sure your data is always on
3. Use CyanogenMod Account / Cerberus / avast! AntiTheft
x. If you phone gets stolen, use one of the above programs to lock and wipe your device.

How to fool Googles Security on a used bought Moto G?

Hi guys, i hope you can help me out here.
a Friend of mine is a taxi driver and had a guest who forgot his money and paid with his Moto G 2015 8GB.
As a friend of good deals, my friend now wants his father to use this Smartphone since it offers enough for his needs.
I already set it up from the scratch, but google now wants me to login with the first account data from the previous owner, which im afraid-, we wont be able to obtain any more.
Id install Cyanogenmod without Gapps to ignore the Google Questioning, but i need to check the "Oem bootloader unlock" option, which i cant, cause i cant setup the smartphone any more.
I hope anyone of you can help me? The Phone it not stolen, so as far as it is possible, please help me!

Goto stock recovery and using vol.down+power key u will be in fast boot mode using vol down chose recovery mode and press power key to enter into stock recovery. If u see a dead android just press power key first and holding it press vol. Up then just scroll down to factory data reset and now every g account will remove. Now set it up
A factory reset will probably not help. Moto G implements the new Factory Reset Protection feature which Google did introduce with Android 5.1. This check for the password of the last Google account registered on the device will survive a factory reset.
To my knowledge there is a way to circumvent the Factory Reset Protection on some Samsung devices due to a faulty implementation by Samsung (this was in the news a few days ago).
But this will probably not help with the Moto G.
Just reflash the stock firmware and you will be good I hope
You can't do anything with stock firmware, you can't unlock bootloader. The new system protection is exactly for that purpose. If your reflash the firmware via fastboot, at first boot prompts you to login with any google account used before in the phone.
The only way to revert the locked status is login with google asociated account and wipe from the settings menu once the phone has been unlocked.
i tried the stock firmware reflash as well.
you so are telling me there is no way to get a working firmware on this phone without going actualy in the developer options and activate bootloader thingie?
i mean google did a good job on that part. Still sucks though, but thanks for the answer

Yes, you have no option. To unlock bootloader you need to turn on the oem unlock permission in settings and actually you can't enter in that setting.

When you reflash the stock firmware via fastboot it clear all data & cache. When boots with clean system it prompts again to activate the phone.
For one side is nice to see that this works... Too bad for you... I guess you already googled it right?

[HELP] "Forgot password" option not available on lock screen after reboot

Okay so I got this Honor 6x running on Nougat BLN-L22 (Indian version) and I forgot my PIN. Now I looked up on youtube and found a few videos where you can recover/reset your password using google account circumventing the hard reset option.
But it turns out that my lock screen doesn't have any such option.
Can someone please help? Is this bug or something?

Because it ask for a new setup with email account, fp, pin etc aftwr reset.

Ok so phone after reset don't remember fp, pin etc... if somebody steall your phone can easily make factory reset... I think for this is FRP lock, because if u put another sim to phone and another email adress, phone/google remember which email was before on phone and will send you sms or email with verification code on adress which was on phone before

Havent tested with any other email or sim so may be if I insert a new one, it may ask for FP or PIN.

Question about FRP, Factory Reset Protection

As we know, Android has a security feature FRP, Factory Reset Protection.
Once FRP is activated, it prevents use of a device after a factory data reset, until we log in using a Google username and password previously set up on the device.
But now, if the internet connection, both mobile data and WLAN, is not available for my device at all for some reason, is it possible for me to use that device again? I think FRP perhaps requires internet connection to verify my google username and password.
Thank you for any ideas in advance.
So you can't start the device?

google lock

Hello. I have a samsung galaxy j3 2016 device in my hand. Google play account forgotten.
I reset it with factory reset. Now the device does not turn on, because of the google account.
How can we open the device with custom rom or original rom?
Reset your Google account password on different phone or device like a computer.
If you also forgot the username for your Google account, go to https://accounts.google.com/signin/usernamerecovery?hl=en. Just like in resetting your Google password, you’ll need to enter the recovery email of your forgotten account.
Once you’ve done any of the two procedures above, try to do FRP unlock again using the new password.
If there’s no way to unlock FRP using the first method, then the best shot for you is to let someone flash the system software in order to bypass Google Account Verification FRP.

If ADB got sucessfully enabled on phone then you can bypass the FRP-lock via ADB:
