So here is what I am stuck:
I have a SM-G9208 international edition. I have been working around and finally managed to get TWRP flashed using ODIN and boot into recovery. the problem is that the touch screen does not work for some reason.
So I am looking for a recovery that does not require touch screen. I was hoping to find a recovery that I can flash through ODIN and only uses physical buttons. Does any know where I can find such a thing?
Hey mate. I was searching for Philz for some time - go for it http://arter97.com/browse/exynos7420/kernel/4.3/. This guy has it for probably all models. And buttons are apparently working.
On the other hand you flashed the correct TWRP?

How many versions of TWRP exists? I only found one version on the official website:
https://dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/
the last file (twrp-2.8.7.1-zeroflte.img.tar) is the one that actually successfully boots into recovery but after that no-touch problem exists. the rest do not work.

Could try OTG cable with a mouse.

I never thought of that. Does TWRP support mouse out of the box or special build of TWRP is needed?

Yep, TWRP supports it. Should be fine. Had to do it on a G2 with a broke screen

It indeed worked. now I can actually do things in TWRP using USB OTG mouse. But there is a new problem: once I use mouse in TWRP, the phone gets stuck in a boot loop after I exit TWRP The only fix is to flash the full image using ODIN
For whoever that may come across this:
TWRP does allow you to work through adb command shell. boot into recovery, attach to your laptop and do:
adb devices
once you get a response do:
adb shell
and then you can do all kind of stuff like:
twrp install filename
twrp backup
twrp restore
I have the same problem but instead like a dumb ass I installed twrp twice and it messed up my screen each time I touch to the right it touches to the left and left is right. So does anybody have a costum recovery or a stock recovery for SM-G920T1 or SM-G920T
I have a huge problem. After having a lot of issues rooting my device, I downgraded to COS11s and was finally able to root and install TWRP.
After that I tried to install Sultan's latest build, which failed. I then installed the latest CM12.1 Nightly (which is what he recommends if the installtion failes) and right after that his build, which worked - finally. I installed Gapps and rebooted.
I noticed I hadn't installed supersu and wanted to reboot to recovery to do so - but now it just won't boot into recovery! My phone turns on and boots straight to the lockscreen. I tried the button combination, the advanced reboot menu - everything. It just won't boot into recovery. I even reinstalled the recovery via fastboot (which supposedily was successful), but the problem remains.
Flashify doesn't even show an installed recovery!
HELP!

Tried using adb yet? If you haven't, give it a try. If you don't have it set up, you can find several threads on how to do it, from full installs to small zip files. Considering you have fastboot working I assume abd also. Make sure USB debugging is on, plug your phone up and allow USB debugging when the prompt is displayed on your phone. Then adb reboot recovery.
Not familiar with what build you are on, some require you to enable root access mode from developer options, might check that also.

Thanks for you answer. I have adb set up. USB debugging is on. I will try adb reboot recovery. The weird thing is, it doesn't even boot into stock recovery (My first thought was that the phone replaced twrp with CM recovery somehow).
That's a good point, I will turn on root access and try again.

Another option, if nothing else seems to work is start over. I generally use nexus devices and flash factory images, looks like you can do that also on the one..
Hello,
I have the same problem. I unlocked my OPO, flashed the TWRP 2.8.7.0 and everything went good and smooth. Then I flashed CM12.1 and it worked. Now I wanted to downgrade TWRP to the TWRP 2.8.6.0 because of some issues with the latest version and after flashing the older version it will not boot to recovery at all...
Please help.
Thank you
EDIT: SOLVED!!
Okay, so I managed to get it back working again.
How I proceded:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541 and do everything that is said in the 3rd point of the first OP post. (+download the file for your OPO - either for 16GB or 64GB model - after you have it downloaded unpack it)
2. flash all the files listed in the 3rd point of the first OP post
3. boot in the OS, enable developer settings and enable USB debugging and allow it
4. get back in the fastboot mode and flash either TWRP 2.8.6.1 or later versions (because of Lollipop compatibility)
5. enjoy!
God bless you.
Hey,
My Htc pico has been stuck on teamwin (TWRP) recovery splash screen. I messed up
What causes this ?
I have installed Latest TWRP 3.0.2 from TWRP website.
What Other issues ?
- Volume Down button broken
- Cannot boot to fastboot mode, when i connect the phone from pc it automatically boots the TWRP (broken) recovery and hangs on teamwin splash screen
What i tried ?
I tried booting it to bootloader mode from pc by entering adb reboot bootloader. DIDNT WORKED.
I tried making a bootable TWRP recovery but its not working. Followed this guide http://androidforums.com/threads/gu...d-or-twrp-bootable-sd-card-06-04-2013.327798/
Can anybody provide me with a solution
Issue Resolved:
Update: Keep sending adb reboot bootloader command to phone while it reboots to recovery mode when you connect USB cable.
Make sure you have ADB Tools version 1.0.32 or later.
Thanking you an infinite number of times:good::good::good::good::good::good::good:. I had the same issue with my Pico. I lost every hope......but finally you arrived I changed to yannou90 recovery from TWRP. Now everything is working fine on CM9 :good::good::good:
By the way.....i'm guessing what could have caused the issue .....A corrupted TWRP ??

All you have to do is Keep sending adb reboot bootloader command to phone while it reboots to recovery mode when you connect USB cable.
Make sure you have ADB Tools version 1.0.32 or later.
GET ADB TOOLS 1.0.36 here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/tool-updated-adb-version-1-0-32-fastboot-t2932160
When I run Adb reboot boot loader I just get a black screen tried flashing cm10 unofficial rom all went well except the wifi broke so I’m trying to get back. I have another family member with the same device so I have access to boot Img recovery and most other files but I can’t really do anything with them. I have the google USB drivers and rockchip drivers installed so I’m not sure what it could be.
Hello.
I can boot into fastboot or twrp but in 40sec in reboots to normal phone. I cant access the internal memory through mtp even if i unlock my phone. I had it boot to adb mode once and i got the main things off, but i want to do a nandroid backup thru adb twrp it started rebooting.... any suggestions ? The mhl tv adapter didn't work.
SOLVED - I had to boot up recovery without USB cable connected.
