How to Install Windows 10 on Your PC
There are several ways to install Windows 10 on your PC, whether you’re upgrading from Windows 7 or 8, installing a new operating system from scratch, or reinstalling a fresh version of Windows 10. There are still ways to get a free Windows 10 upgrade license, too.

Any possible way to flash new ROM on 64-bit OS?

As the question asks, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and I fail to flash my device.. I'm guessing it's because I'm on 64-bit Windows 7, as when I was running a 32-bit OS, it ran fine.. Any thoughts?
It's not the OS. I've flashed from several computers running 64-bit Win 7, both build 7000, 7100 and RTM. Most likely you haven't let it set up the proper drivers first - first time you flash you can get a failed because the OS hasn't finished installing the HTC USB Sync-something before the flash application times out.
Also as I'm typing this, the official updater is running updating to the newest norwegian ROM. This is done on a Delll XPS 1530mm running Win 7 Enterprise x64. It took a while before it installed the HTC USB Sync-drivers, but it didn't timeout.
Hope this helps you figure out what's wrong with your flashing routines!
i use window 7 ultimate x64 and have no problem flashing roms, make sure u have the HTC USB Sync Drivers Installed, Also the Nessessary Quallcomm ones, put your device into bootloader and connect it to your pc, it should then retreve the nessessary drivers from windows update
If you still cant flash a rom after that, rename the .NBH file to RAPHIMG.NBH copy it tho the root of your storage card, then hold vol down while pressing the reset button, then just follow the instructions to flash the rom from your sd card

VMWare and Captivate

Is the Captivate not able to see the Captivate when it is plugged into the computer? I have windows 7 running via VM Ware on my Mac, Because that is all I have, and it won't see the phone. I want to use the Odin Stock restore but if it won't recognize my phone I guess I can't use it.
Chris
What version of vmware? Not sure on the mac, but is there an option for it to pass usb through to the vm? Did you install the drivers in the win7 vm for the captivate? More details would be helpful.
Yeah I installed the drivers on win 7 in VMWare, Its on a mac. Its VMWare Fusion3. When I plug it in my Comp asks me would you like to mount in OSX or windows and I click Windows and it just won't mount. So if I try it with debugging mode on It will mount onto the Mac no matter if I select OSX or windows. So i'm just wondering if the samsung USB can't connect through VMWare.
do you have the android sdk installed on your Win 7 VM?
The reason I ask is because you could run "adb devices" in a command prompt on the vm to see if the VM is seeing the device at all.
it sounds like it may be a bit easier to just boot camp your mac if you have access to you windows 7 disk, just create a small partition that you can go back to in times of need

[WIP] Create Windows To Go Drive on Android

Hi All,
I've been wanting to create a Windows To Go Drive on my Android so that I can simply plug in my phone into any PC i want and voila, my own Windows 8.1!
I've only had limited success so far.
What I Used:
Sprint Galaxy Nexus (Rooted, 4.3)
DriveDroid
Sony Vaio Laptop running Windows 8 (Win7 and below dont have latest DISM or Diskpart) (Capable of UEFI booting)
What I Did:
1. Used DriveDroid to create a 10GB image file. It made the file, so i'm guessing that the internal sdcard of the Nexus is not FAT32. No Partition Table and no File System (Yet)
2. Plugged in the phone. Recognized it as a USB Drive.
3. Used Diskpart to clean drive, create primary partition, format as ntfs and set active
4. Extracted install.wim from Windows 8.1 Disc
5. Used DISM to copy image onto Blank USB Drive (Took around 2 hours)
**It's better to use DISM in comparison to ImageX, since ImageX is older and has mixed results
6. Used BCDBoot to copy boot files onto USB Drive
7. Rebooted. UEFI Boot Failed (Didnt even attempt to recognize the drive)
8. Legacy Boot worked! Reached Windows Boot Manager
9. Reaches the Windows 8 Boot Logo and the Spinning Circle
From here though, it just keeps spinning on and on and on.....doesn't stop spinning but doesn't go further than that either.
While it does that, there is
a) No HDD activity
b) No response from Num Lock and Caps Lock key lights
c) No BSOD or response when the phone is unplugged
It's like it doesn't care. Just keeps spinning

Acer a500 tab powers on but no display and Windows XP, 7 or Peppermint OS(Linux distr

Like the title says, Acer a500 powers on but no display(black screen). In addition, when connected via USB to Windows XP, 7 or a Linux distro called Peppermint, it is not recognized. I've installed ALL the correct drivers(including older versions) and nothing. This means, if the pc or laptop doesn't load the drivers, I can't use this device at all! Not rooted. Original ICS stock ROM.
