[Q] Unlocked to TMO now can't get lte with AT&T

Unlocked D850 for TMO now I can't get LTE with AT&T, TMO LTE works fine. I have both AT&T and TMO sim cards . I'm running Stock KK rooted . I did upgrade to lollipop and still no LTE on AT&T, but lost root so I downgraded back to KK via LG Flash Tool.
I tried a few different APN's with no luck. IDK any help would be appreciated

Which APN's did you try??
I tried the nxtgenphone that was the default one when I put my AT&T sim in. Also tried "phone", this one I get 4g but not lte. I also found one that was either "pto" or "pta" I think it was "pta" this one I get no data at all, same with the "nxtgenphone"

Can an unlocked H950 update to 5.1.1 Lollipop?

I'm not sure if this is meant to be posted here, but I had the LG G Flex 2 H950 for about a week now and found out about the 5.1.1 update shortly after I bought it. Thing is, I bought it unlocked, so I'm not sure if I'm able to update it as OTA notifications do not show up and I'm not using the AT&T carrier (I'm not even sure if that matters).
Anyways, is there a way to update an unlocked H950? I have a Rogers plan in Canada that I am using currently with the phone.
If you are not using ATT and are not in USA, you will never get the OTA to update to 5.1.1
You must use a TOT or KDZ to upgrade the device to 5.1.1 Lollipop, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/guide-lg-g-flex-2-stock-firmware-to-t3037593
You could use an att gophone sim to try and get the update. Gophones have roaming in Canada and mexico, so it should be possible.

D.I.Y. Upgrade Stylo to Nougat

I have the LG K520K carrier-locked (Optus) with MM and I just upgraded to Nougat using LG-Uppercut
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
You can use KDZ files from LG Firmwares.com regardless of nationality, I used the South African KDZ for my phone. The upgrade also unlocked my phone from Optus.
I just learned that Uppercut has a Trojan, use it to upgrade your phone but then delete it and run an ADW scan.

[HELP] LG V20 Unknown Variant

Good day everyone!
so i got an LG V20 for a sale price in AliExpress.
I bought the H910 variant, which is ATT
After 20 days on shipment, i got the phone as described, but after i did a little digging it turns out to be a confusing variant
Here's what i found:
> The phone boots with a Claro animation, Claro is from Puerto Rico, Right?
> on the "about device" the appearing model is an H910PR. PR is, again, puerto rico
> LG Bridge can't identify the model, will try soon on LGUP
To settle things, i looked up the hardware instead...but it just got more confusing
> I ordered an H910 ATT variant, the back label behind the battery of the phone also shows H910
> looked up the IMEI and it shows as H910 ATT LG V20, both IMEIs from the firmware and the back of the phone is the same
> i teardown the phone to look for the board model number of the device, and it says "VS995"...... the board is a Verizon variant
> again, i bought an ATT variant, the model says it is H910, but the back cover of the phone is written Verizon (i know it's not solid proof that this phone is Verizon or not cuz you can swap back covers, but still)
My purpose for this phone is to unlock and root it, but sadly i can't cuz i might end up bricking it for flashing the wrong stuff because of the confusing models
And even just restoring the firmware could be risky
So how can i root this phone?
Will DirtySanta work?
What firmware should i flash in case i need to restore it?
Any kind people out there to help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like you got a H910 with Claro firmware on it, could be a refurb phone
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I'm not surprised that the board says vs995, heck my first v20, a us996 I unlocked through LG (means it was indeed a legit unlocked us996, which I bought new) said vs995 on it inside. The single sim v20s are all nearly identical, mostly its just modem and cpu fuse configuration, note that we can't super easily change the actual modem config now that its actually assembled and fuses are popped, but there is some degree that modem firmware sorta works even with cross flashed firmware).
It might just be that the imei tool used couldn't bother to distinguish h910 and h910pr and just labeled them both ATT.

so basically LG is using the same single sim board but with different modems? That's something

So would it be fine if i flashed a regular ATT firmware on this variant?

Most likely.
Att decided to be special snowflakes and did otas in a way that means theres no firmware files that can be flashed through the regular lg up/lgbridge tools though. So the best way imo to get att firmware is to downgrade to the dec 2016 security patch and root and grab an att rom. If you cant find an old enough h910pr firmware then just follow the regular h910 guide involving crossflashing to h910. Regardless I'd at least follow the bit about dumping your modem related files (because if anything is going to get funky, it will be the cell service)

Follow Phoenix's advice and back up your modem, others who flashed att firmware on the pr variant others had issues with cellular service, also you might want to verify what bands that variant supports to see if it will work with your carrier

LG Bridge or LGUp safe with V500n

Have bought several "refurbished"LG phones from Aliexpress over the years and apart from a G3 have had no problems when flashing/updating firmware by ota, lgup or lg Bridge. At the moment have v500n20x firmware and if i check for updates in settings am told " using latest software version". Lg Bridge tells me v500n20z is available to update and I checked and there is a v500n20z kdz out there. So has anyone successfully updated these ways? Also would not having 20z firmware stop phone from ever updating to Android 11. Am sure years ago i updated G3 using LG Bridge and all seemed ok until i realized no mobile network coverage. Apparently seller must of modified/flashed modem that worked in my country and update put it back to stock. The V50 v500n all checks out in Aida64,CPUZ and imei checker as genuine but thinking of it now ,if i was going to update would LGUP(Uppercut?) be the the safer option baring in mind it's a "refurbished" Aliexpress LgV50

My Korean version LG V500N has already updated to android 11 just one week ago, my device is with "KT mobile" vendor but I'm using it with Telcel and Movistar providers in Mexico without problems, well except OTG connection, my device is unable to use OTG, no matter how many times I connect via OTG and select file transfer in USB mode it stops connection to reconnect after just a second again in power supply mode
