Stock Android 10 vs. Android 11 - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Has Somebody relevant experiences at Pixel 4a with both A10 & A11?
I'd like to have a one time set phone what is rooted and will not be updated for the nearly future, so based one of the final stock version of A10 or A11.
I have a preconception that newer firmwares with the new services requires more system resource.
But maybe there is not too much demand differences between A10 and A11.
After the daily good performance the secondary demand is rootability. Maybe with Magisk that's easy at both Android version...
What do You think or suggest? Thanks!

If you want to root and limit resource usage you might be better off with something like LineageOS.

Should I wait Android 8 to root my S7?

Hello everyone my name is Ali and I am new to XDA. Hope this forum will help me to increase my Android knowledge.
My question is simple. Should I wait Android 8 to root my S7 or should I root my S7 now? Thanks in advance.
Hi. I am also new. In my opinion, rooting now or rooting later will depend on what you want to achieve. I rooted very recently coz I want to gain more control to my phone and I want to try the new roms available here. If you root later, then there is a possibility that the new rom (assuming that you would like to install a custom rom) will have some bugs. So it will take a couple of updates to stabilize it.
It's really your preference but Android P is much different than 7.0/7.1. It has support for multi-screen devices as well as foldable displays. Also it will have hidden control of signal strength show controlled by the carrier. Developers will eventually get in there but if you want to enjoy root I say root now. There's loads of stable stuff for 7.0, even Xposed is operational on 7.0 and 7.1.
I'm using stock S7 rom. (exynos) But i would like to root and put Lineage OS. Because i live pure android. Is Lineage OS 14.1 stable for daily use?

Can all GSI ROMs be flashed on Android 8.0?

Hi guys.
I'm just wondering whether all GSI ROMs can run on Android 8.0 or if there are GSI's that run only on Android 8.1 and up.
As one who lives in an area where the internet speed is so fast ,
and where bandwidth is a thing,
I would really appreciate it if someone would tell me whether some GSI ROMs work only with higher Android versions.
Currently I'm using Lenovo S5 with Android 8.0. It has ZUI 3.7 which is pretty nice that I have to resort to custom ROMs and my only hope is GSI's since there has been a low number of developers for this phone and I'm not one.
Hope this question gets answers. :fingers-crossed:

Upgrading to Android 10 question

A little information first -
Original Device Configuration: One Plus 7 Pro Nebula Blue Purchased From T-Mobile - Stock Firmware
Current Device Config: Flashed To Oxygen OS International Version - 9.5.11 - Running With Root, Custom Kernel and TWRP
=======================================================================================================================
I was thinking about upgrading to Android 10 (International version), but I see that there are (were?) a lot of problems with that release. Is that still the case? and if not, what is the best method for me to follow if I want to wipe everything and start fresh on Android 10 (International version not TMobile)?Or is recommended to use one of the custom OxygenOS/Android 10 roms for bug fixes, stability and battery life improvements?
I've actually been running this phone stock with root and a custom kernel and have loved it to the point where I didnt feel the need for a custom rom, but I'm not opposed to it if it means a better Android 10 experiences VS whats available from OP.

[ONE UI] [2.0] Samsung A8 2018

I welcome everyone, I have a question, namely, should I expect the ONE UI 2 port?
I checked several sources. One stated that the A8 will get official Android 10 in August 2020.
But I could not find any other source to prove this fact. So I assume, it's still a "maybe".
If you hope for a port by developers here it's the same answer. The A8 is a not so common device and therefore we don't have much developers. Most of them already moved to other devices.
A8 one ui 2
TeamExyKings maybe go port android q?
The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 smartphone already has Android Q, but the processors and other characteristics are completely similar to ours ..
We'll see.
At the end I'm also using this device because of its good camera. That's why I won't flash any custom Rom like Los since the camera driver wasn't published by Samsung which means any custom Rom comes with a lack of photo quality.
Thats why I'm still hoping (at least a bit) for an official update from Samsung.
There won't be an official update and Prashant is working on 2.0 port so wait for it, the A8 you see on Android 10 list is A8S
Should i wait for the port on our device???
Are you in a hurry? I mean 9 is working great so far. And it is still getting security updates.
Since I rooted my A8 a while back I'm stuck on February 2019 security update on Pie. Any updates regarding the 2.0 port mentioned above?
Please Make A Custom Rom For A8+ 2018 Which Is One Ui 2.5 , 2.1 or 2.0 . Please Port Any Rom Out Of These
It's a shame. Even older devices like the J6 received android 10 with one ui 2 from Samsung. But not the A series. Samsung simply don't care about their customers.

did anyone noticed that both Qdroid one UI 2.1 and FusionX one UI 2.5 just vanished from XDA?
Isn't it up?
Lots of things disappeared after the migration to new servers

Lineage OS for Samsung Tab4, 7 inch, T231, 3G

Guys, I am new to this forum. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (7 inch) T231 is running on very old Android KitKat version 4.4.2. This is the last official OS update received. Many apps are not supported on this old android.
Please provide a stable Lineage OS version, ROM file link and whole process to install.
I will be ok with installing Lineage OS version 13 and above (i.e. Marshmallow 6 and above), which ever is most stable.
Thank you in advance.

Since you are new, a few words...
People may understand your request different, like one understands "is there some out there who can help me and how can I help..." and others may understand "give me that ROM, you are there to provide me stuff..." So better be slightly "overpolite".
Developers and development teams just share their work on XDA and improve it based on the feedback the users or other developers give them. We can be happy, that XDA is a big development hub and have to be very respectful. :good:
The Tab 4 is a very old device, in my case I just use it as a small power bank. Display resolution, RAM, system speed... however, developing may be suspended and you cannot expect newer custom ROM releases.
I will explain quickly because Galaxy tab 4 7.0 variants don't get support.
8.0 and 10.1 models have SD400 (msm8226) SoC, 7.0 has a Marvell for the wifi variant and an Exynos for 3G and LTE variants. And it's easier to work on qcom-powered devices
I'm gonna go ahead an do what nobody else here would and answer your question. And it indeed works because I did it just last night. Just follow the link below
