I didn't plan to write any Q&As but it seems necessary to drop some notes here. (Last updated: 2021-11-29)
Q: How to flash?
A: Extract the boot.img using payload dumper, flash it into your device via fastboot then reboot into recovery. ADB sideload the firmware, reboot to recovery and sideload again to ensure that both slots have been updated. Lastly, wipe the userdata partition and reboot to system.
Q: Root solution?
A: The canary variant of Magisk is recommended. Download and rename this file to .zip, then sideload it in recovery. Reboot to system and install the original app-debug.apk file.
Q: How to preserve Magisk after an OTA?
A: Install the OTA but do not reboot immediately. Open the Magisk app and tap the `Install to inactive slot` option.
Q: Custom kernel?
A: Play at your own risk. The only supported alternative is NeptuneKernel.
Q: Ah! It's extremely laggy after a reboot, halp!
A: Open the camera app and tell me if it's resolved.
Q: Soft reboots on Netflix? (#325)
A: Choose a color mode other than `Saturated` to activate HDR normally.
Q: Why can't I find this feature...balabala...I saw it on Arrow 11.0
A: Please, wait for ArrowOS team to bring them back.
Q: Bug! Here's a bug!
A: Upload the log or, describe the steps to reproduce, in detail.
Q: Any support group?
A: Here.
Downloading now!! Thank you
So far so good !! Smooth and responsive. Trying to figure out the green dot top right corner?

Its always the same for me for most roms
go to bootloader
fastboot boot twrp.zip
format in trwp
reboot to bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img ( taken from payload dumper tool )
reboot recovery
format
adb sideload rom.zip
reboot rom
For root I flashed magisk23 patched boot after setup was complete
probably a couple of redundant steps but for the most part it works for me
Wait, I thought twrp doesn't work for A12 OP7P yet and that we had to use Arrow recovery?

Simply flash boot IMG from fastboot, then reboot to recovery, from recovery sideload the rom zip then factory reset (format data) and boot system. Be sure to have oxygen 11.0.3.1 or latest on both slots before flash. For magisk use latest magisk canary patching boot IMG and flashing it from fastboot.
Please give me the recovery boot.img link.

@raj_jdja Hi, I installed this build of October 2, 2019 of Arrows OS 10, performed a complete cleaning of all the wipes, installed in the following order: Arrows OS, gapps BETA nano from your link, Magisk 19.3, I restarted and the phone, stay on logo MI, and restarts, goes to bootloop.
you can fix the bug, Arrow OS is the best.

Use this Magisk version : https://www19.zippyshare.com/v/ri6FcIbe/file.html
Are there any crucial buggs in this ROM? I would like to try it, but I won't want to waste time if it has any crucial bugs.

has anyone managed to make edxposed work with this rom? I've read that people are managing to install it on android 10, but I haven't been able to so far (bootloop).

I would like to solve the problem, because once installed it remains on the "MI" logo, installing magisk 19.5 BETA should work?

What I can tell you is that Magisk 19.3 does not work with Android 10 and 19.5 does work. I have not tried to install this build, I would have to look at what version of recovery (compatible with "sar") and firmware it has installed.
Twrp ( sar )

I installed this build in the following order:
1) full wipe
2) Arrow OS 10 ROM of 2 October 2019
3) gapps NANO - BETA
4) magisk 19.3
everything correctly.
Restart the phone and stay on the "MI" logo and restart, now I have put Arrow OS Android 9 back.
thanks for the TWRP recovery, I use the OrangeFox 10
Click to collapse
As I mentioned earlier magisk 19.3 is not valid for android 10.
I would proceed in this way to see what the bootloop produces.
1) full wipes and format data, restart in recovery.
2) install ROM
3) reboot system (to check for bootloop)
4) if the system started well, restart in recovey
5) install gapps, wipe dalvik and cache.
6) reboot system (to check for bootloop)
7) if the system started well, restart in recovey
8) install magisk "19.5", wipe dalvik and cache.
9) reboot system.
This way you will know what the bootloop produces.
And if that doesn't work, I would try the twrp that I linked to earlier.

Install rom > boot it > flash gapps > boot > disable 'android setup'
$$$
Is it stable?
You're stuck on bootloop because the original ROM you had (the one you're switching from) is not MIUIV10.3.1 PIEMIXM or Above. Download it from the MIUI Forum (just google it). Flash it first and don't use the magisk version 14 among others suggested here, use Magisk Canary Version. This should fix all your problems.

Nice to see a few extra features for a first build. I flashed latest SmurfKernel 3.1.1, so far so good.
It's awesome
Hi
I installed the rom, by following the steps given in op. For me the mobile data doesn't work at all. The auto brightness jumps non stop for no reason. (Slightly lighted room)
Apart from these major issues, the rom is nice, feels smooth, thanks for making it.
I was on OB3 unencrypted internal storage, TWRP 70, and Magisk 20.1. I clean flashed this build and it's working very well. In fact, hats off to the developer, this may be the best Q custom ROM yet. Also successfully restored OB03 and restored back to this build.
The only bug I see is if you cast to a wireless display object it will cause the system to reboot.
Thanks Dev for all your hard work!

Thanks dev from your work.!

Now I have lineageOS android 10 rom with TWRP recovery.

4.wipe cache / dalvik
5.flash ROM
6.flash gapps
7.flash magestik
8.reboot recovery

Is these steps correct for the flash?

I prefer KudProject edition instead of original TWRP (original caused me problems with installing newer ROMS): https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...recovery-pitchblack-recovery-project-t4120269
PitchBlack Recovery is there (based on TWRP), but I am not sure whether it support TWRP backups.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-kudproject-s-unofficial-twrp-3-t4107121
You can flash firstly KudProject, make a backup and try to install latest ROM. Also you said that you weren't doing any canges for 3 years. You should update firmware because newer ROMS may be incompatible with older firmware and cause problems with WiFi or mobile data. You will find it there: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/mido/
Thanks @Atexor.
I want to change rom because with my rom that I currently have lineageOS17.1 unofficial I have problems making the video call. It goes into a loop and I have to restart the device

Yes, I did that, both clean flash by wiping everything and also dirty flash from 7.2. It still does the same thing so I am not sure what is wrong

Yes did that too and it's still the same.

Okay I looked at another thread of yours that said to format before installing, and it worked
Thanks for the amazing work, all set up and working amazingly so far.
My only issue was user error. I tried to install NikGapps Omni but kept rebooting to twrp. Working fine with NikGapps Core.

Hi Jack,
Thanks for keeping my daughter's Sunfish alive cheers,
Sébastien.
Dears, could you please clarify clean installation?
Should I flash Bliss-v16.3-sunfish-OFFICIAL-gapps-Fastboot-20230113.zip by fastboot update -w zipname?
OR Bliss-v16.3-sunfish-OFFICIAL-gapps-20230114.zip???

Hello,
Wow, this is weird. This phone has no mods, no root, nothing. It used to work on stock Google firmware the day before I install it. That's why I thought it was a bug... Well, my daughter's got all her apps installed now. So she'll leave with it.
Cheers,
Sébastien.

First post, Downloads - BlissRoms Recovery Boot Image
Is that the recovery image or kernel?
I am currently running Bliss Android 11 (BlissRoms 14.7). If I go into Settings>System>Bliss Updater I can download it but not install it from the UI. The OP implies I can dirty flash v16.3 (A13) over v14.7 (A11).
I'm not planning to do it soon, but just want to confirm I can flash 16.3 over 14.7?
Thank you BlissROM v16.4 for pixel4a released today.
I updated from v16.3 by Dirty Flash method.
(I got boot.img file from payload.bin by Payload Dumper)
The most notable changes are the following points, and
Play Integrity API Checker/YASNAC check passed without Magisk and USNF module.
"Updated PixelPropsUtils to make SafetyNet working again"
I like New QS Panel Styles(Icon shape, Transparency).

Am I correct to assume "BlissRoms Factory zip" is the "Bliss-v16.3-sunfish-OFFICIAL-gapps-Fastboot-20230113.zip" image? and then use the OTA to update to 16.4?

Not recommended to take that huge leap without wiping data. you might encounter terrible bugs since you are upgrading over 2 generation worth of Android Upgrade

FYI I am attempting building the ROM from source. I have a really weird thing where the prebuilt webview.apk is only 134 bytes from a repo sync; every time. I checked the google source targeted by the manifest, and manually downloaded that at around 55MB (and placed it in the local source), but then it fails at 80%. I have previously been using the Telegram Build Bliss channel, but now its at a point I think I will need to document the error more and explain how the repo sync fails for webview.apk. I am hoping that any repo sync fix, also fixes the other fail. I think I got a fail at around 90%, its not always the same when it fails.
However, by chance I have developed a pretty bad cold/flu that worsened today and it has totally wiped me out, so building may be pushed aside. I'm pretty sure its not COVID (I think I have a spare RAT test lying around somewhere), no cough, my lungs feel fine and I got 100% oxygen saturation earlier today. But it has really developed quickly later in the day and wiped me out, whatever it is
