How To Guide Switch from EEA to Global (or other region) without unlocking bootloader - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hello Community,
I wanted to make this post because there is some wrong information or insufficient information regarding that switching regions betweens roms requires you to unlock the bootloader.
I found a way it works, I updated from MIUI 12.5.2.0 EEA to 12.5.4.0 (then to 12.5.5.0 ota) Global Stable using XiaomiToolV2 (unofficial Tool).
These are the following Steps:
1. Download XiaomiToolV2
2. I did download the rom from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/vayu/ (while the tool checks the files integrity, download with your own risk)
3. Enable Developer Options and then USB Debugging
4. Open XiomiToolV2 and select your device first, then follow the instructions and after that boot to recovery and select MiAssistant
5. In XiomiToolV2 select Local MIUI/Rom Option and add your file (Incase it doesnt allow you to add the file put the in file name and open)
6. It should verify the file now and pushes it on the device (this can take a while, be patient and dont restart the device on your own
After reaching 100% the phone should reboot automatically to the system

Hi @Areasu, when you switch regions using this method, does it wipe your data? I relock bootloader using std oem method after flashing rom of different region, data is always wiped.

My data wasnt wiped it installed like an update

Non-stop error.

So you do not need to unlock the bootloader? I understand that XiomiToolV2 is to be installed on the computer and the phone should be connected to the computer, right?

Yes, but in the tool the option Official Xiaomi Rom it tells me *Requirements: Unlocked Bootloader*. But when I use Local ZIP File method it works.
I see you had ghost touch issue, some people said it disappeared on 12.5.5.0

I still have this touch problem. Though it had been quiet for the past week

I understand that you have updated MIUI 12.5.2.0 EEA to 12.5.4.0 with xiaomitoolv2 and the update to 12.5.5.0 appeared on the phone just like that?

It may also be possible to download 12.5.4.0 Global to the phone and install via ota through the option select the update package

yes I did that. I got OTA update 12.5.5.0 and im using it right now.

yes it does work

I was able to install rom Global 12.5.5.0 as you wrote, except that I had to do wipe data because the system would not start and it kept going back to recovery. Only after the wipe date did it work

Thank you so much for posting this, it was really fast and easy to understand. I really didn't want to be on EU but thought I'd have to unlock bootloader and wipe my data so I'm glad this worked. (^‿^)
Ps: I used the recovery rom not the fastboot rom maybe you should specify what you used.

Okay from what I understand fastboot might wipe your data so I just wanted to make sure people don't get the wrong one and lose all their data.

I think yes, recovery didnt wipe my data. Im not even sure if fastboot roms from other regions will allow flash. This guide is only for flashing recovery roms from different regions. (google says fastboot rom requires unlocked bootloader)

I followed your instructions and changed from EEA to GLOBAL using the latest, RECOVERY, official ROM for my POCO X3 PRO.

Hi everyone! I am getting an ERROR in my Poco X3 Pro
I tried to do the same using XiaomiTool V20.7.28 (latest), from 12.5.4.0 EEA to 12.5.7.0 GLOBAL as the updater suggested. But for some reason I am getting this adb "sideload error status 1" like this image. My battery is 98%. Any ideas?

The "Unlock" link just disappeared from the EMUI site and direct links give a 404.

Does this also remove Carrier Branding like Funky Huawei does? I'm moving to a Vodaphone contract but originally put a Three SIM in, so has those settings and branding (also with WiFi calling)

i so need stock recovery back. cant install any updates via twrp, dload method, or normal ota update. always get "zip corrupted" (twrp) or "software installation failed" (dload/ota)

Is TWRP out for the OP7 yet? Or is this AIO tool basically still a work in progress (not all functions operational yet)?
I don't see the OnePlus 7 posted on TWRP's official website. Or on xda for that matter. I can find a couple dodgy "how to root" guides for the OP7, but they just look like clickbait. One just links to the TWRP main page (instead of an actual file download specific to the OP7). Another actually contains links for the OP6! Not just deceptive, but can possibly cause folks problems!

Hi, this tool has all function ready for op7 and op7 pro ( i'm only waiting for the branded unlock bootloader procedure). Actually for what i know there is not a twrp available, but in all cases the tool allow you to flash a third part twrp.img and not only the twrps in the list (I can update the twrp list without updating the tool, so when a new working twrp will be released i will add it in the twrp list). The other functions, like reboots, bootloader unlock,or apk installer/uninstaller are perfectly working because they are a bit generic. For the root is the same problem, the tool use the twrp to root the device so without it you can't root the device with the tool. This tool is available for all others OnePlus devices and i'm official TWRP maintainer for Op6 and Op6T, so when a stock rom will be released i will start also to work on the TWRP and the others features.

You should ask to oneplus or you can try to use the msmtool for gm1913 or gm1917.
Your is the chinese version, so you should search for hydrogeng os msmtool

(Guide) Relock Bootloader/Back To Stock.

This guide is for those who are on unlocked bootloader/custom roms and want to go back to realme UI 1.0 and relock
Needless to say, me, and the makers of realme flash-tool and TWRP/other recoveries wouldn't be responsible for any damage caused to your device. Having said that, this method has been tested and should be fine for realme UI 1.0.
First things first, if you are on custom rom or on rooted stock rom you need to revert to unmodified stock rom.
*Warning :-Make absolutely sure that you are not relocking by flashing an older version, always flash the current or newer i:e If you unlocked while being on version A.19 make sure to flash A.19 and/or newer versions and not A.17. While I'm not sure if this will result in a brick or not and have no intentions of trying, this may result in a hardbrick.*
Links to firmware (RMX2061/EUxxxxxxx.ozip). Search for realme 6pro from the list.
IN.- https://www.realme.com/in/support/software-update
EU.- https://www.realme.com/eu/support/software-update
*Do not lock bootloader while on custom rom.*
*Do not lock bootloader if you're rooted.*
*Do not lock bootloader with any custom partitions even vbmeta with disabled verity and verification.*
IF YOU DO SO YOU'LL END UP WITH A BRICK WHICH CAN ONLY BE FIXED AT A SERVICE CENTER. YOUR PHONE WILL DISPLAY AN ERROR MESSAGE SAYING PARTITONS ARE CORRUPT/DAMAGED.
Backup your stuff before proceeding.
There are three ways to revert to stock:
1. Using RFT (Realme Flashtool) by @sayaoks :-
Instructions provided on the thread.

2. Using TWRP (use the latest from the recovery section).
*Wipe>Format Data> type yes> format
*Reboot>reboot to recovery
*Install > Select .ozip> Swipe to flash
*Reboot
Do not select disable-vbmeta or avb_patcher or anything of that sort.

3. Using stock recovery.
From system:- To flash using stock recovery, download and put the .ozip in the root of storage and from realme file manager tap on it. It will start Flashing in the stock recovery.
From recovery:- Download and put the .ozip in the root of storage, then reboot to recovery.
Your Language> Install from storage> enter password(only if you have one)> Phone/SDcard and then select the .ozip.
Any custom recovery.img/boot.img should now be replaced with stock.
After flashing is successful and the device has booted to stock rom reboot to the bootloader.
If you want to be extra careful, and used RFT or TWRP/Custom Recovery to flash stock rom, you can flash the fw again using stock recovery after the phone has booted up(steps mentioned above).
Connect the phone to PC and enter command
Code:
fastboot flashing lock
Now on the phone select lock bootloader with the help of volume up and power buttons.

Wait for it to complete... and you will boot into the OS with a locked bootloader.

A35 is the latest version for IN firmware. Latest for EU is A28, which is up on realme EU website.
If you want A35 firmware just visit the Indian downloads page.
And yes you can update to a newer version than whatever you unlocked on and then lock on the newer version. Make sure everything is just stock meaning no twrp,patched boot and/or custom recovery.

Don't have a brick to use the rmx2061 model? instead of device 2063, what method do you recommend.

Well I know someone having Indonesian/Indian model and locking on the EU firmware. It didn't brick but not sure what will happen in the future when an OTA drops.
Lock on the same firmware as the device, like eu device with eu fw and so on (just to be safe).
You can use any methods to get to stock, just to be extra sure, when the phone boots up after flashing stock and before locking, put the fw in the root storage of the phone and re-flash again with the stock recovery. And then proceed to lock.

thanks to carry out the process and start correctly, I got an update of only 300 mb ls which gave me an error, but soon the same RMX2063a1135 came out but 3.5 gb which if it was installed and now I am as I started, without root or magisk, The question is, since the most recent was installed via ota, can I close the bootloader?

Yes but you must use the latest Android 10 image, seem realme blocks to downgrade to older version than this

You can use RUI 2.0 to lock. Just be sure that all partitions are stock. Use the .ozips made by @ctapchuk

How To Guide RUI 3.0 Easy Rooting Guide - On GT NEO 2

Download this zip file from here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xk1yBp5EDCZbl3i3jMtOhjfaVtTCQqYB/view?usp=sharing and copy the boot.img file to platform-tools folder.
Then open the terminal and cd to the platform-tools folder.
Then, shut down your device and hold the vol up + vol down + power button together to boot this device into fastboot mode.
First, you need to run

to check if your device is properly connected to the bootloader interface. If it shows something then your device is properly connected, If not, try to install the device driver, change the cable, or boot into the bootloader mode again.
If your device is connected properly, then you will see a screen like this:

- it is necessary to have the bootloader unlocked before flash (instructions on how to unlock the bootloader can be found in the video in the post above or here on the forum)
- after flash just install Magisk manager
no data loss, tested and functional

If your bootloader is already unlocked, no data loss. but If your device bootloader is not unlocked, then unlocking your device data will be erased.

You need not flash anything extra than flashing customized boot.img. Just simply follow this step and your device will be rooted.

Help...After flashing boot image and rebooted , Wifi is not scanning the networks and I am unable to take calls but 4g(internet) is working fine. Please reply me for any fix. I followed the exact steps you mentioned. My Device Realme Gt neo 2 UI 3.0

In my case, all is fine.
You can try backup data and then reset your device through recovery.

Thanks for the reply . Any way I reverted back to previous state by flashing stock boot image and firmeware. Now everthing works fine. I will think about rooting later..

Removed root and updated to RMX3370_11_C.04 is it safe to reflash root image on this version?

I just tried this and it worked for me...

Meanwhile I realised that my wifi and my phone don't work anymore... I have no idea if this boot image is the cause.

No solution so far. I think first everything was fine, after flashing the magisk boot image it's gone worse... But I'm not sure.

I do not recommend updating on RMX3370_11_C.0. After flashing boot image (without Magisk) wifi no longer working.

I flashed clean firmware and lock bl i am done moding this device only adb debloat.. And after clean flash netflix still wont open login screen...

It's global respectively EU. But I start from scratch yesterday. I flashed twrp, format data and flashed magisk. But other people need your patched boot image. Thanks for providing.

i received a notification around 3 weeks ago that my device has an update to 13.0.1.0 official rom
i tried once to download it and every time i download around 2 gb of rom it just restart and nothing happened and tells me to redownload i download it 3 times and no good
today for no reason i tried to update it and phone went into loop
here what i tried
tried to unlock using mi unlock - fastboot oem unlock = no use
tried to flash using XiaoMi tool cant find surya model
tried to use mi flash it says cant install in locked state
tried to use mi pcsuite cannot verify rom signiture
also noticed that the fastboot logo has changed from the bunny to orange fastboot logo

If the bootloader is locked none of these tools will work.
Maybe Mi pcsuite but you say "problem signature".
Mi pcsuite (Miphone assistant) must be used from recovery.
Where did you download the rom and which one?
Have you tried erasing the data from recovery?

the file was from the phone itself the official rom miui 13.0.1.0.sjgmixm
how i know the name because my wife has same phone her phone didnt accept the file but my phone did update it
my wife's phone gave her that error in file signature and ask to redownload it
i had this issue but i don't know why it accepted it yesterday i thought they fixed the issue
i erased the data still caught in loop
recovery and fastboot works but no sign for booting up
mi assistant from recovery doesn't read the phone asks to connect the device when trying to update flash
r.flash it asked to try normal before switch or couldn't retrieve rom signature

Are you sure of the version of your phone?
Have you tried with Mi assistant version 4?
Maybe based on what was displayed on the phone, it's always written global even if you have another version of rom like EEA (for Europe or others).
What matters are the penultimate 2 letters.
EUXM=EEA Europe
MIXM=Global
TRXM=Turkey
RUXM=Russia
INXM=India
JPXM=Japan
IDXM=Indonesia
TWXM=Taiwan
CNXM=China
DEV=Public Beta

It's a global, you must try with this version of rom,12.5.8.0

i have undless bootloop after downgrade from android 13 to 10, everything locked, can't access to recovery, just fastboot and when flashing i have always error : can't flash coz phone is in locked state , i can't found any solution
any help for that or any trick to bypass locked state and install recovery
