Not to sound like a newbie or that im complaining.... But for those of us who dont know how or what the we are supposed to do with your github twrp since there's no instructions their either why not explain here what we need to do to install your twrp thats prebuilt? Or how the hell to build since nowhere in the folder is there a recovery.img or twrp.img at all... I havent done any of this since android 5.0 and all this new gsi stuff is rather confusing for those of us who havent kept up with or dont have experience with building stock roms or even working stock images.... Not to mention building a recovery image on a phone is more complicated then doing so on pc and with termux being dead that makes it more complicated for me as idk know how else I would achieve building such a image from a non rooted device and without a PC.... Sure we could flash your pre-rooted images but dont that defeat the purpose as without a custom recovery it makes flashing gsi's a bit difficult as instead of just booting recovery we got to flash thru fastboot... If that dont brick the device in the end

I was able to OEM unlock the bootloader, Im trying to figure out this twrp. Any help?

Bizarre tri-color screen problem. Can't flash new rom.

I've tried all the different ways of flashing a new rom to my phone however my upload process is always stuck at 0%.
I'm able to boot into my phone's stock ROM after leaving the phone for a few days with the battery disconnected. As soon as I wanna throw in my sim card or try to flash anything to the phone, I get the same problem of unsuccessful flashing.
I've tried flashing via micro sd card, didnt work.
Anybody?

good luck
edit: link
the first two links you've provided are useless.
the second one, i am fully aware of and have studied it and tried it.
what other options are out there other then MTTY and micro sd flashing?
I've tried both without any luck.
Like I said, I cannot flash anything to my phone through regular flashing procedure.
What HardSPL are you running? Hit me up on IM, I could try to help you.

the first is the most important because it states forum rules and you should have posted this question in the proper thread instead of starting a new thread. so you need to go ask this in a flashing thread such as the flashing for newbs.

Ha Ha must have been an early morning l8 night they where meant for me but the principle still stands.
There is a sticky @ the top and threads with relevant info, then post in the relevant thread and not make a new.

It may seem harsh, but this site has almost 1.8 million members, we simply cannot have people starting new threads every time they have got a problem. Especially in the rom development section, which is supposed to be dedicated to the development of new roms, not solving people's phone issues. And especially again, when in the sticky at the top of the page, there is a section dedicated to being stuck in bootloader ( tri-color screen )
It is ironic that the major complaint from new users is that it is too hard to search and find anything on the site. So they instead turn around and start a new thread for their problem, further compounding the problem and cluttering the site with more redundant problems and more redundant posts. And then take open offense when the more senior members who try to curtail this problem by suggesting a little research in lieu of another new thread on an old subject.
I have a similar problem
Hy. My HTC TYTN II is making me hard days. when i restart he blocks in the three colour screen and i have to pray and hope that he will start normaly. And when he finally does it runes as new...till i restart. Could anyone help me. Others said it's a software problem. Ok. what can i do?

Curious, your first post and it is right after two posts by Senior members who pointed out that if you go to the sticky in the Kaiser ROM Development and read the thread about Flashing for Noobs you will find out information that will help you with a problem.
Did you even read the two previous posts?

That's not what he meant. He meant in this thread:
1) ask questions in post 1
2) use a thread title that describes the problem / question

Yes you need a file to install a custom recovery. It's called an .img file and you install this by using fastboot commands and the Android SDK while in fastboot mode. Head to general and check out the sticky by rootSU. You access recovery by holding power + down while your Nexus 5 is off, if you don't install a custom recovery such as TWRP or CWM you will be on stock recovery and you won't be able to do much. Use the volume buttons to cycle through the options until you see Recovery and tap the power button.
If this didn't help, please be more descriptive as rootSU said.

@rootSU sounds like this is a job for the Sticky! @amongmyselves please click the link in rootSU's SIG and read the sticky about fastboot/adb. Everything you need is in the stickies
Also as a big big hint. When you first root your device you *WILL* lose all your data on your sd partition. So if you've made any changes, etc., be prepared to lose it. Also all your pictures and whatnot. I would suggest doing a copy/paste using your usb cable to like your computer before you root/unlock bootloader. I made that mistake the hard way and feel this should really be in big red letters on the root thread. lol

well go to sticky thread on how to root and stuff in general section and most important create a backup of efs before trying anything so the first thing after getting recovery in get efs and keep it safe in ur pc

No, unlocking the bootloader is what wipes. You can unlock the bootloader but not flash a recovery nor root. Just as there are methods to root without unlocking the bootloader.

[Completed] [Q] XtreStoLite install not working

I've spent a couple days trying to figure out why my install is giving me so much trouble. With less than 10 posts I can't post in the active thread, and the Q&A thread gets no attention. I'm running a stock, previously unmodded (though used) Galaxy S5 G900T T-Mobile version, checking both the internally reported model number as well as the sticker in the battery compartment. It has been functional for over a year but getting slow due to too many apps.
I've reflashed, redownloaded, tried different SD cards, cables, computers, etc. I'm at least on my 20th flash. I've read some people having similar problems, but in the Q&A thread it's just people with no clue talking to each other.
I've even downloaded the same file (pointlessly, with the same hash and all) from multiple mirrors.
The phone hangs on the "starting apps" screen, IF I wipe dalvik and pull battery. Anything else hangs on the "samsung fireworks" boot animation.
CM12 went on just fine, as best I can tell I'm rooted. The other questions in the Q&A thread are, at best, incomprehensible and not providing ANY technical information or even a real question, I can see why they don't get a careful response - but I'm trying to approach this logically and carefully and just plain don't know where to turn. If there were some way I could record some data of use for someone more knowledgeable to look at, I'd be all too happy to do it.
I did just PM Edgar directly, so this may help - but I've got some 16 hours of seat time watching this phone not quite boot up (except on cm12) and I'd really like to flash something beyond the stock ROM. (as a total aside, does anyone know if the latest nightly CM12 build needs the boot animation patch applied or has it been incorporated?)
Thanks!
Hi there,
You already founded the right place for this questions so please wait there an answer.
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.
Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.

OTA Software Update Storage Location

Hi all,
I can't seem to update my Realme Q using the phones software update, so I am trying to install it using TWRP (which I have installed, and can't seem to get rid of, which I'm happy with).
Any idea where the download is located so I can update it manually?
Thanks.
U cant update the phone if you have a modified recovery
Must be completely stock

How about you just answer the guy's question? The guy asks a question but gets an answer that isn't his answer!
I'd like to know the location too actually, I'm running TWRP and my system is currently downloading the latest update realmeUI C.02 and I don't want the phone updating itself.
If you know the location it would be helpful.

First aren't you a bit rude?
Second on this time of the post im still not aware that you can flash .ozip on twrp
Third if you want to download it manualy here this guy provide's the firmware https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-5-pro/how-to/stock-firmware-boot-recovery-vbmeta-t4006615
Next time watch your words
Robstir said:
Firstly you can flash an ozip with several versions and derivatives of current TWRP's at the moment, secondly a question needs an answer, an answer to what's being asked, so how about you learn to phrase things better, I don't know the location but... blah blah blah - I'll say what I like, no watching any words Mr keyboard warrior!

Okay, I understand a lot of people are under a lot of stress nowadays but all I see here is just a silly quibble, no forum rule violations (maybe 2.3, mildly). And amongst the arguing, answers are being provided. Should I close @motherface's thread because the two of you can't agree? That hardly seems fair. Just keep it civil and show some kindness to one another.
@motherface I'm terribly sorry about this situation. I will continue to monitor this thread to mediate any further drama if needed but I'm sure everyone has got it out of their system by now.
Stay safe all
