Run the trouble shooting guide in KIES to re-install the drivers . Also, use KIES AIR, that only needs WiFi and you can access files and folders via your pc browser. Hope that helps

Yup that to. BUT, often on the Samsmug site the software version available is one version behind behind that available via online updates Kies.
Tried that
Hi, I have already done all of the above more than 3 times ive removed the drivers, kies and re installed and my computer will always just keep saying usb device not recognized with code 42.
This is what microsoft have to say:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because there is a duplicate device already running in the system. (Code 42)
Recommended resolution
A duplicate device was detected. This error occurs when a bus driver incorrectly creates two identically named sub-processes (known as a bus driver error), or when a device with a serial number is discovered in a new location before it is removed from the old location. You may be able to resolve this problem by restarting your computer.
Restart your computer
Click Start, click Shut Down, and then select Restart in the Shut Down Windows dialog box to restart the computer."
I have to go out just now. I'll take a looky see when I get back.
error 43
oh im sorry its not error code 42 but 43
windows detectded problems with this device....
Do you have a Linux OS under the hand? It would give you a lot more information than Windows does... If you dont have but want to try, you can download the disc image from ubuntu.com or any other distro like linux mint or fedora etc.
Just to get information on your phone you dont have to install it, just starting on the liveCD, plugin the phone in and running comands like dmesg, lsusb and maybe hwinfo would be able to tell you what is happening with your phone.

This is why I suggest you to try to plug it in a linux machine and run those commands, there is obviously a problem with your device and Linux could help you to define what it is since it gives more information on the hardware.
If you are unfamiliar with dmesg output you can create a pastebin and link it here I will try to help with it. The output of lsusb may provide interesting info too. (as hwinfo but I don't think it is available by default in Xubuntu)

well i will try if i can but it will be in a day or two as im packed to the top with assignments
Also I did not mention that but you can access your phone via the wifi network starting an ssh or ftp server on it, the one I use is connect bot from the market. This way you can manage you music and files over the network.

yes i have done it using kies air that works. i will try the ubuntu method as soon as i can. thanks for all your help so far everyone.
Can you confirm that your usb ports on the PC is working with other devices. Its starting to look like a faulty phone. Have you tried a different usb cable, or can you check the current one with another device. We need to exclude all other factors before we conclude it is a faulty phone.
error 43
other devices work yes.
OK, looks like a croaked phone. Last ditch effort. If you go over to the forums at http://www.sevenforums.com/ have a good search for that error 43 code, there might be an answer that I've missed. We could also have a good look at the windows error logs, but I don't hold much hope as you have proven the PC hardware works, and you have checked and cross checked the drivers. All the error logs will show is an expanded view of the error.
I would consider returning the device with a view to a new replacement. Sorry. :-(

I had the same problem and could not figure out why...here is the deal:
Prior to SGS3, I had the old Samsung Galaxy S/Vibrant and was using the USB cable which came with it...then I thought; maybe the USB cable in the box of GS3 is different or superior...i tried it and VOILA! it worked...so that is all I had to do...all these reboots and re-installing drivers was just a waste of time...PS> I am running Win 7 64bit
USB ERROR
I still cant connect with 3 different cables, i am going to do a factory data reset and tell you all how i go in about 15 minutes...

[Q] Developer unlock Lumia 720 on Windows 7

Hello,
I have a question about unlocking Lumia 720 on Windows 7. I can't seem to get past Windows Phone Developer Registration part since my phone is not recognized.
I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit).
Below are the tricks that I've tried so far.
1) I followed the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2377254 but without much luck.
2) I tried installing Windows Phone 8.0 SDK Lite at http://windowsphonehub.in/tutorials/guide-install-windows-phone-8-0-sdk-lite-windows-732bit-64bit/
3) The standalone executable of the registration program couldn't find my phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027902)
4) I have tried different versions of the following software http://windowsphonehub.in/tutorials...eloper-unlock-windows-phone-sideload-10-xaps/ but it shows some kind of error in chinese.
5) I can see my phone listed in the device manager without any errors (on this computer) and I can access the files using Windows Phone manager which I also installed (I tried zune too but it didn't work, obviously)
6) I've tried these steps on three different Windows 7 computers.
7) IpOverUsbSvc is running (I've tried restarting it)
8) I tried downloading the IpOverUsbSvc drivers from catalog.updates.microsoft.com
9) I've tried setting my system time to 1.9.2013 (september the 1st)
10) I have tried renaming my phone, with and without sim card and screen unlocked.
Sadly I don't have an access to Win 8 computer and I can't format the computers I have used.
If you any tricks up your sleeve I'd like to hear them.
Thank you.

Not able to connect to P900 from win 8.1

I've invested the last 10 hours to install the most recent Cyanogen mod on my P900. Unfortunately, I have deleted my cm image file, which I had copied on the P900 by wiping my data from the TWRP menu. And as I am not able to access the device from windows anymore, I don't know how to proceed.
When plugging the usb plug into my notebook, I can hear windows recognizing the P900. And in the device manager, it appears as portable devices > MTP-USB-device. But the command adb device returns no device.
Installing/uninstalling kies and installing the most current samsung usb drivers SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.0.exe didn't help so far.
Thanks for any advice how I could proceed.
G.
Stupid me! Meanwhile, I found out that the device has an external micro SD slot, which one can use to provide files to the device.
Maybe this post helps somebody out there to save time.

Nextbook NXW8QC16G Windows 10

Hi there,
There was a previous discussion on installing other systems on the Nextbook NXW8QC16G (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2956409)
This is specifically installing Windows 10 on this unit.
The latest build of Windows 10 build 10041 works great.
I backed up drivers from Windows 8 using Double Drive 4.1.
I created a system restore disk on a USB stick.
Used Rufus to format usb stick, to FAT32 , for the Windows 10 install, but had to avoid adding the image to the rufus tool as it kept changing the format of the USB stick to NTFS(the UEFI boot doesn't seem to be able to boot from). Manually copied the contents of the ISO to the memory stick and installed Windows 10.
Once in Windows 10, I installed all drivers except the display and network drivers (when I did on previous installs, i would end up with an endless boot).
Rebooted, attached a usb Wifi dongle, ran Windows updates, rebooted, and all, including touch and built in wifi work perfectly.
I am willing to do a driver dump of the current setup if anyone wants to avoid the Windows updates, or doesn't have a USB dongle to get the drivers updated.
Everything seems to be working brilliantly
I would love to have a driver dump for this device.. my friend has 2 of them and her sons have wrecked them.. I got windows reinstalled and was able to get everything but the touchscreen working again
I would also LOVE a dump as my daughter bought 2 of these for my grand-kids for Xmas, and they have ruined them! Thanks!!!

Good day.
Have you tried this with the latest insider preview build? Do you know if the drivers work out of the box yet?
Also, can you please provide a driver dump for me?
Regards,
Ganralf
I have successfully installed Windows 10 build 10074 on my 8" 16GB Nextbook tablet, model NXW8QC16G
You can find the drivers and some other tips on this thread: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_install/installing-windows-10-on-the-nextbook-101-that-is/18a49db3-ad1e-4232-aa44-547409a27518
I posted the following information for what I had to change to get it working on my tablet:
The only problem was that the orientation was off by 90 degrees (display would be portrait while tablet is in landscape mode)
I found a small change int he registry file fixed it for me:
"Orientation"=hex:01,01,00,00,01,01,02
Note the order of the numbers.
Hope this helps people that want to install Win10 on their 8" tablets

Windows phone

Installed drivers a few times. Win 10 shows my 6 as windows phone. Didn't before I reloaded windows.
When you plug the phone, be sure to activate the transfer mode in the phone settings.
Drivers are included in a folder as a mounted device in "computer"
Yeah
I did that I can see the files on the phone but shows as win phone in devices and shows windows driver
A OK.
Is that a problem?

*Win 10 no longer sees the phone period. Under file explorer or in devices. Tried reloading phone and usb drivers numerous times.
Kinda sucks as I can't transfer files, root, twtp etc
So it used to work but now it isn't?
It won't solve your problem but if you need to transfer files you can still use a ftp (numerous apps on the store). Just mount it as a network folder using the local ip the app gives you
I give for now
