Enough said really. If you don't know about GravityBox module, you can use it to perform a good amount customization on menus, button actions, lock screen, etc. For example, 30 volume step mod, circle battery with percentage, randomization of pin numbers on lockscreen, extended power menu with reboot options/screenshot/screen recording, etc.
Grab the regular (NOT the non FBE version).
It can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gravitybox-v7-0-0-tweak-box-android-t3653953
If you don't have Xposed systemless installed, download and install the sdk25 version (download zip and add module from magisk manager) from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
As always, Xposed systemless framework enabled will cause SafetyNet to fail. So if you want to use Snapchat, Android Pay, Pokemon GO, Mario GO, new versions of Netflix, etc.; you'll have to disable the framework and then reboot currently. This hasn't been an issue for me so far!
Have you had any luck with any Magisk's modules? I can't get them to work. I can't get any black out apps to work via TRWP flashing either. It's gotta have sitting to do with the a/b partition, right?

The Xposed framework systemless v88.2 is the only module I actually have in magisk. Most magisk modules don't seem to have been updated for the magisk systemless 14+ betas.
Ok, after a couple of reboots, I got a few of them to work. BusyBox, Greenify, and the black themed injected YouTube back ground playback (which is amazing BTW) are all working now. Although, my phone doesn't pass safetynet now.
Does status bar colouring work on GravityBox on the Essential? I ask because colouring the status bar black across all system and apps would basically give an illusion of equal top and bottom bezels but with light up notifications and icons which imo would look pretty cool and hide the camera notch.

You need to install the xposed framework apk as well located in the attachments of the xposed systemless thread in order to enable and manage xposed modules. Found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268 and called XposedInstaller_3.1.4_Magisk.apk

I have a question for ya. Do u know where to find the recent app settings in gravity box. I can't find them. I want to switch to bottom right. It's been so long since I've used it and it's changed. Thanks
This is great, thanks for the headsup. Being able to use GB+xp makes running stock an awesome experience AND I get to use the 360 cam.
The cam is really the catz azz .
don't use AP as my cc app works regardless.

I dont know i just installed over a rooted phone like always. Just not all themes are working for one plus 6, but it at least appear after reboot in overlay manager tab. On dp 3 nothing appears..
There is no speacial instructions for substratum, it installs from a playstore and if you're rooted it will work. Install a theme, configure an overlays, install it, reboot device, after reboot go to overlay manager tab select needed overlays, press Enable it.

OnePlus navbar is different to stock Android. Themes tend not to work on it.
I'm using Substratum on 5.1.9 pretty successfully but the process for applying themes is more convoluted with the latest security patches. Swift Dark has good instructions included (see pic), but I can't get its inbuilt accent colours to apply

Nope, it says that since the march security patch you have to select overlays, build and enable, reboot, enable overlays again, then reboot again to apply properly

Substratum work on rooted p devices i check in multiple themes but in Android p i can't able to use it without root if i root my device banking apps wouldn't work for me.In Android oreo i used it without root thanks to rootless theming.
I am using Substratum with Swift Black Substratum Theme on Android Pie DP3. Also do not try using systemUI related overlay as it will cause SystemUI Crash. You need to be rooted and TWRP recovery installed.
1. Always Backup.
2. Compile the app overlays in Substratum.
3. Boot into TWRP
4. Mount System Partition.
5. Goto Advanced and File manager.
6. Copy/Move the compiled overlays from /sdcard/.substratum to /system/system/app
7. Reboot the phone. Enable the overlays in Substratum.
P.S: If you accidentally stuck on SystemUI crash, just boot into TWRP file manager and delete the overlay from /system/system/app.
I have read it in Substratum thread. And it works perfectly
Happy Theming

Oh thanks for clarifying
Any one tried substratum theme on Android pie open beta with success? If yes than explain how?
Edit: Works well now. Forget to uninstall Andromeda.
1.)Install substratum (uninstall Andromeda)
2.)Select theme (theming systemui and Android system should avoid it may cause crashes)
3.)Build & Enable
4.)Reboot
4.)Overlay manager
5.)Enable.
Enjoy Black Theme. (Or white or dark)
(Tested with Swift Black)

Happened to me on 5.1.11. All you have to do is go to the accent color. Switch it to something different then switch it back. IDK if it'll work for PIE but I would try that. Just flashed over to Pie and I'm just now getting up everything so I'm going to try myself.

Same here. Able to see overlay installed but nothing in overlay manager.
Edit : old post . OP edited.
What did you pick in substratum for android version? Oxygen OS android 8? Or "others?"
It's still not working for me unfortunately, did an accent color change and I've actually never had Andromeda installed at all. Coming from stable Oreo build...
Thought Substratum was blocked in Pie...
Subs is working fine for me with pitch black. Followed the same procedure as in the OP.

You don't need all this steps! I'm on Open beta 1 Pie, installed latest substratum beta from telegram channel and belo, mono/art are working great. Off course i'm rooted, you need only to build & compile theme, then reboot then apply it :good:
Without Root you can't use Substratum on Pie right, please change the topic of this thread its misleading!

On oxygen os yes, in hydrogen beta 3 we still need these steps. Cuz i tried to download latest beta from telegram beta chat, but after installing overlays it not apear in overlay manager, after reboot aswell, just nothing is there.
I found hydrogen os more stable in this beta race so for a while im sticking with it. But it is so annoying to disable everything, reboot, then overlays and all that **** steps
Hello Everyone!
It's been a while since i surf in here, just wanted to give a tutorial about how to install Xposed Framework in this Redmi Note 5, check this out ( do with your own risk! backup is a must, tested in the latest Pixel Experience ROM)
Before you proceed, you need to have Magisk installed and make sure its working in your device. Now lets install Xposed.
First Step:
- Download EdXposed Installer.apk and EdXposed Magisk zip module Here
- Download RiruCore Magisk zip Module Here
Second Step:
- First, install the EdXposed Installer first.
- Then, Flash the RiruCore magisk module.
- Lastly, Flash the EdXposed Magisk module then reboot.
Third Step:
- Open the EdXposed app and see if the status is green, that means the xposed framework is now working on your device, and you can proceed to download and install xposed module you want. (Note: this is still in beta, so that means not all Xposed Module will work 100%, install with caution or you can check in Here to see the list of what working and what not so far.)
-Enjoy.
Sorry if some of you already know on how to do this, i just wanted to share it with you guys, since i haven't see any of similar thread like this.
Have a good day, hope this one helps :good:
needy guide
Thanks for that...
But..
If have ore supported xposed please share us.

Tried this on my whyred running Pixel Experience Pie ROM. Worked as expected. Of the modules I tested, some are working fine, some aren't. GravityBox developer is working on a Pie release, waiting for that!

As of now with magisk 23.0 on Android 11 I'm able to hide everything g-pay all banking credit card apps working. Magisk is changing in Android 12 so I'm unsure. But I believe there are still some modules we can use to hide su access in magisk canary beta for 12.
There are several modules for Magisk that allow for basic. I have been using them since I bought the phone on release day, and have been able to use all apps. I would recommend sticking to Magisk v23 instead of the newer version, as hide has been removed (for now). You will get conflicting advice on this, and will most likely have to make a decision to move to a12 or keep hide down the line.
Lmk if you would like my list or modules.

I have no intention of ever updating to Android 12 so this won't matter. My oneplus 5T has been on Android 8.1 for years (mainly because I wanted that sweet sweet taste of the original rovo89 Xposed framework) and it has worked fine but it's clearly nearing the end of its life and has a slightly broken screen.
OP9 LE2110 with OOS 11.2.8.8.LE25BA rooted with Magisk 23. Working apart of banking app. G Pay is ok
Everything is working great with latest Magisk Alpha, Universal SafetyNet Fix and Zygisk enabled with Deny list (New MagiskHide)
