oos 10.3.12 update failed - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Does anyone know why when I download the 10.3.12 update from here https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6-6t-oxygenos-10-3-12-july-2021-patches/ it never works and says "no channelog install failed"?

Was that a full install or incremental zip? If it's incremental you might have this problem.

OTA CM13 update fails because of recovery

Hi,
I've got TWRP 3.0.2-0 recovery installed with CM12.1.1 YOG7DAS2K1 and am receiving the OTA update for CM13.0 ZNH0EAS2JK Incremental but the installation fails with an error message in recovery saying it's expecting "YOGDAS2K1" level but finds "YOG4PAS1N0". This happens whether I re-enable the CM Recovery update or not.
I found a thread here on XDA linking to all CM official updates. I flashed the recovery from "cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1-bacon-signed-fastboot" successfully and then tried the update again but it still failed. Again, happens whether I have CM Recovery update enabled or not.
Verifying current system...
system partition has unexpected contents
E : Failed to install @/cache/recovery/block.map

Click to collapse
So now I flashed TWRP again. Does someone know what I should do to install the update ? Preferably without returning to stock first.
Solved
Feeling a bit stupid really...
Right under my post in the list was this post which deals with my problem exactly. I just updated my phone using that guide.

[SOLVED] Best course of action for OTA 13.1-ZNH2KAS254

Hey guys, my OnePlus One is great but my dad's has the modem issue where 4G just switches off periodically and only thing to get it working is to reboot. Tried every fix under the sun and hoping this update will fix, but probably not. We tried flashing Oxygen modem files as he had no issues on that OS but this changed nothing, other than seemingly not allowing us to do the OTA (assuming that that's what's stopping us, read on here that you can't have any system file changes like that if you want to do OTA's). Here's what happens when I try both these methods:
Update from about phone > system update: boots, says "installing system update" and then "error"
Update from stock recovery: "installing system update" then
Verifying current system
System partition has unexpected contents
E: failed to install /sideload/package.zip
All we want at the moment is to get OTA's working seamlessly, can get the radio stuff fixed later.
Can I reflash the cyanogenos radio files and then the OTA will work? Can we flash the system image from the full new ZIP from the cyanogenos site? Want updates to work. Thanks!
Edit: currently travelling and would prefer not to wipe but will if necessary.
Edit: after receiving no replies I flashed the system.img of the new update after finding info that this will update without wiping.

Latest OOS update 10-08-20

Has anyone updated a rooted device with thr latest OOS ?
My twrp is unable to install the zip.
Magisk installed
This has been briefly discussed in the OOS thread. Myself and others have updated via TWRP. You will get an error message but when you reboot, the lastest OOS will be installed (10.3.5). I am using the latest version of BkueSpark as my TWRP.

OxygenOS 11.0.6.7 On Oxygen Updater

I see 11.0.6.7 is on Oxygen Updater but not on the OnePlus site. When I try to manually install it makes it to 85% and then fails. Was this update removed or something? If I try doing a full update it shows 11.0.5.6 as the current firmware.
You are rooted and trying to install the OTA, that will not work. You will need the FULL OTA
Don't install 11.0.6.7. It's a broken beta release. Wait for 11.0.6.8 which is supposed to fix what 11.0.6.7 breaks.

Update to latest OTA through Magisk fails

EDIT: Issue resolved! Thanks, Bill!
I am using my 8T with a stock ROM with an unlocked bootloader and Magisk. As I want to keep the systemless root, last time I did the OTA updates through Magisk so it can patch the boot image before rebooting into the newest update. I know this only works with the full ROM images and not the incremental ones thus I download the full update file through "Oxygen Updater" rather than the official system update. I went into Magisk, to the modules tab, selected "Install from storage", and selected the full OTA file. Once it finished I then installed Magisk again before rebooting. Everything worked great. This latest update, however, keeps failing to unzip in Magisk. All I get in the logs is:
Code:
- Copying zip to temp directory
! Unzip error
I haven't changed anything since the last time I had a successful update this way other than to update the ACC module. I don't really know how to proceed with this other than to wait for the next OTA update. Unfortunately, I didn't do the correct procedure the first time I updated and Magisk did not backup the stock boot image, so I can't really try that. Any thoughts?
Model: KB2005
Current version: 11.0.10.10.KB05AA
Update version: 11.0.11.11.KB05AA (file is ...15.O.29_OTA_0290_all_2110091944... [2.78GiB/2.84GB])
Magisk version: 23.0 (app is also v23.0)
Here are three ways for keeping Magisk for an incremental OTA:
1. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ices-platforms.2239421/page-149#post-84764713
2. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...00-kb2001-kb2003-kb2005.4178675/post-85801253
3. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-rooting-oos-with-twrp.4327417/
And I would never try to install an OTA via Magisk. Simply put the OTA in the root of sdcard and then use the System Updates local upgrade option.

Well, that was simple enough. I guess I got the process confused, somehow combining parts of the process with my old 5T using TWRP and the previous update I did on my 8T.
Thanks for taking the time to grab those links and make a reply! I appreciate it despite the fact that I had a case of the dumb and could have saved you the effort
