Can you tell me the rom + kernel for best battery life? I use the stock rom + stock kernel, but drain the battery fast sorry for bad english
I would recommend any kernel with deep idle. Glados or matrix

if you are rooted i would highly suggest using pete alfonso's latest ics rom (1/2/2012) combined with eugene's lastest kernel (speedy 3). i have it 200/800 smartass v2 and for me the battery life is pretty good. also, i have calibrated the battery resulting in stellar performance.
Which rom is the best? Thaiz?:good:
For me,only the stock was good.

I pretty sure that the kernel is handling the battery so best battery life I had while using:
1. The Promethius Kernel Version 1.4+ (the + is for v21e baseband)
2. ThiaiZ V0.6 Kernel
I must also note that the performance with both of the kernels is amazing. Very recommended.

i am goin for rooting and custom rom with kernal falshing .
what do u recomend for overall performence rom with least bugs...?
performance matters me first i can manage battery problm
First, if you already haven't, install v21e baseband or kdz (kdz is easier to install imo) because the kernels mentioned above work only with that baseband.
I recommend the same roms as the kernels, try both and find out witch suits you the best (they are both stable as they are LG based roms)

Best is the 21E stock ROM and the custom ROMs that are based on that.
My vote is for Thaiz 2.8 (currently), I use setcpu to clock down during screen off also to save more power.
Let's post here best battery life combos. It may be very useful to those who can't decide what custom rom or/and kernel to flash .

Well... my Kernel/ROM combination may not be the best battery life, but i love it.
ROM: WanamLITE v1.5
Kernel: Perseus ALPHA v3.4
A clean ROM with samsung features still apparent. Kernel has overclock and sound tweaks available. Battery life is slightly enhanced due to lack of bloatware.
** Note ** Camera firmware fix will need to be flashed..
Which Custom ROM you guys feel gives the best battery backup for Osprey ??
Resurrection remix ...on moderate use..5 1/2 SOT

For just battery considered? CM12.1 with a solid minimalistic kernel of it must be an aftermarket one, the stock rom is probably the best though (add a solid kernel and tweak it its even better).
But for a featured ROM, Turbo with Squid kernel using Lionfish governor gave me the best battery, although it wasn't really noticeably different, those were the numbers GSAM gave me.
TBH, no rom itself is the cause of poor battery life, ever single ROM for the G3 uses the exact same base of CM12.1 for Lollipop and CM13 for Marshmallow for all aftermarket Roms, in general, if one ROM has a problem or strength, they all do. The only device tree we have is CM based, so other than a few customizations and toolchain selection, all roms for this device are the same.
