Hey guys,
I've decided to root for the first time in my life on my HTC U11+. Everything went fine and I unlocked the phone. But now, I'm stuck in this weird loop. I'm currently on the latest Pie version (the final one that the device got), and I cannot find a TWRP for it! I've seen people saying that there aren't any for Pie (or that they are not working), so I wanted to downgrade the version of the device. I downloaded the HTCDev Info Tool, but it just says "Can not get root permission!". So it looks like I need TWRP to downgrade, but I can't get a TWRP for my version! I don't understand many of the stuff, but I know that S-on. I would like to install Magisk, so if there's a way around this entire thing please help me. Thanks.

I'm used to samsung so please bear with me...
I just came across an at&t one x that is running 1.85 with the hboot 1.9.000
I am kind of confused as to how to go about rooting/unlocking (if possible) this phone
it seems the xfactor/motochopper methods of rooting (which are in the noob friendly toolkit) are not available for this firmware version. All I see is this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709296
Most importantly, as I profoundly despise sense, I just want to unlock the boot loader, put a custom recovery on and get some Cm 10.1 on here.
I have read methods which require some hex editing, changing the cid to 111111111, etc...
My question is what is the best way to get a custom recovery on this phone now, as some of these methods seem really old (2012)
i'm just confused because it seems i have a pretty old firmware version and i don't want to break anything.

absolutely nevermind, i figured everything out.
Hi,
As you've already imagined, I'm not any god-alike person in XDA. I don't know a lot about android developing. Yes, I am an amateur. (Although not a beginner) I'm just in a bit of trouble here and would love to have someone to help me.
Anyway, I've been using an HTC One [(M7_UL), (PN0710000)] for about 3 weeks now. And I've already tortured it a lot (not physically! ) I've unlocked the bootloader, installed CWM custom recovery, installed the 2.17.401.1 stock ROM posted by mike1986. (believe me, this guy is awesome!!)
Now I want to get back to COMPLETELY STOCK so that I can get OTA updates again and remove the "TAMPERED" mark from my device's bootlocker menu. So I relocked my bootloader, downloaded an RUU (RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe) and tried to install it. The interesting part is, this RUU is for "x.xx.401.x" based devices only. But mine was a SIM-Unlocked Vodafone UK (x.xx.161.x) based device out of the box. So, As I imagined right from the beginning, I couldn't install this RUU. I got the "ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR". But I also noticed that the .401 and the .161 variants have many similarities. Such as they are both M7_UL devices and their model numbers are same too (PN0710000). Honestly, I don't like Vodafone (I don't know why I bought it from them) and right now, I want the PURE STOCK ROM, not any career-branded ROM. So, I though if it was possible for me to install a "x.xx.401.x" based RUU in my device. And if it is possible in any way (there SHOULD be a way, right?), how do I do it? Please help me. And if you need any other information in order to answer my question, I'm ready to answer.
Thanks a lot....
Alright so I rooted my phone around February and installed CM12.1 but because I want to get a replacement from HTC due to my friend dropping my phone and cracking the screen, so I need to unroot the device so I can use the warranty. Looking around there are some methods but they seem to not work correctly for my phone. And because I am a total dingus, I accidentally relocked the bootloader and now I can't reflash a custom recovery. I have tried installing RUUs from different threads on this site via hboot but they seem to not work. I don't know if anyone can help me if you can I really would appreciate it and would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. The CID is VZW__001 and the main OS on the bootloader says 3.28.605.4 but the box says 1.55.605.2 so I don't know which one is the correct one so if someone could clear something up and give me a link to a correct RUU for my phone that would be amazing. Thanks in advance
Have you tried re unlocking the boot loader?

Hey, how is it going? Some months ago, I received an used HTC ONE M8 Harman/Kardon edition. It was almost new. The thing is that since I got it, it has a custom rom (Bad Boyz Sprint ONE M8 Harman v2.1 ART).
I recently want to update to Sense 7.0 (currently 6.0) and also update android to 5.0 (currently 4.4.4), but I just can't from the update software section. If I press to verify updates, it just never appears to find something. I think it has to be something related with the fact that it is not the original rom. The phone was bought in US but I'm not in the US. I'm just worried that the ROM was installed in order to function out of the US, I mean, with other network.
So, I'm asking if you think that uninstalling the custom ROM may affect negatively to my phone.
Hi.
It is a Sprint based ROM, so going back to stock shouldn't affect it.
You could run the RUU that is available on the official US HTC website. But please realize that Sense 7 isn't out yet. If you go back to stock you will get the update via OTA when it is available.
Here is a link for the Sprint Harman/Kardon RUU. Scroll down to the manual update instructions and read them. The RUU download is at the end of them.
All data on your phone will be erased, so make a backup of anything important to you.
Also, if you are S-On, you will have to relock your bootloader first. If S-Off it is not necessary. You can check if you are S-Off by booting to your bootloader (turn off your phone, then boot it by holding power+vol. down).
If you are S-Off, it will say at the top under where it says ***unlocked***.
If not you will have to use ADB/fastboot to relock it with this command:
fastboot oem lock
Then run the RUU, and you will be stock Lollipop.

Wow, really appreciate this! So, once I've done that and no more, will the phone be free of the custom ROM? And what about the root stuff, will it be gone as well?

Can't get my phone recognized in HTC Sync Manager, as the process of the manual update indicates. I already toggled debug usb, re-installed software, selected mode on the phone, etc. And nothing seems to happen. Can't find either the solution online. And the Sync manager is at the last update.
Hi all
I bought a phone. I did the 6.25.605.3 update. The phone is stock factory, never rooted etc... Now, I would like to install the Viper rom. The phone is S-On and bootloader is locked. I tried different method ( Htcdev... ) but impossible to unlock the bootloader. someone could help me, please.
Thks
Since you are now on MarshMallow Android 6.0, SunShine will no longer work (Software S-OFF exploit - $25).
Now you are like us M9 users have been since day1, it's a heck of a lot better than nothing though.
You will need to ship your device to an owner of a Java Card, or XTC2Clip.
See thread here for who has one and to post.

Thank you. It's a very bad news. I'm living Madagascar.... Maybe any member find a solution soon ....
