I just noticed I can't upload video clips recorded with HEVC format and share from gallery to Instagram stories, it won't upload, trying with the S21 it works no problem, if I disable HEVC it works, can someone else try and confirm this is the case? I don't know if Samsung or Instagram is to blame. Thanks

They might have forgotten the "shim code" to convert it on the fly.

Likely the phone. Check permissions. Maybe the hevc version.
I won't let Instagram run on my phone... or fb, WhatsApp etc. Security risk.
If it can't be logged on the browser and needs a "special" app to use it, no go. Trashware.

You could notify Instagram and see if they can do anything about it.
It's typically not something you can fix on your own, since it's a file format that has to be supported by the app. Trolls will be trolls, though.

You could try with them, but there's a pretty good chance they will give you the boilerplate "not all apps support this format" explanation.

It could be as silly as a mimetype update. I was looking to see if there are any reports about an update to the format or anything like that, but most sources are dated enough to still say Facebook and friends don't support the format at all.

yeah, I mean it's works great with the S21 and both have same software so it must be something that easily can be fixed, anyway I contacted Instagram about it through the app, we'll see what stupid answer I get back.

Alright. I'll keep looking around. I know I ended up giving up on it because it wasn't supported in Signal and I didn't have the motivation.

I see, it saves 50% space recording with HEVC compared to old format so I've used it since Samsung offered that option and it worked with no problem sharing clips to Instagram stories.
I tried with another Flip3 and exact same problem.
it's now working with latest update.

There were some kernel updates for hevc, but it may have also been a typo

You can't. The version on the Note is customized to support multi-view. Samsung has to push the update out or provide a discrete link on Play just for Note owners.

I can't do multi-view in mine...
I have Polaris, s note, video player, gallery and web browser, there is no option for Photoshop.

Oops. Neither can I. Obviously I haven't used it very much. The answer may be the same though if Samsung's had Adobe make modifications to work with S-Note and the non-standard clipboard. The fact that Play doesn't recognize we have it installed means something funky is going on in the background. Same thing applies to Polaris.

That's bizarre - Polaris was included on my Prime and it updated from Play just fine... I wonder what Sammie did...

I'm thinking about calling Samsung customer service tomorrow and asking when and how we are receiving the update. Not even trough Samsung own market there is an option for an update.
Good luck with that, I have received nothing but the run around for the past week.

I had the same issue a few times. Music stops, and if I click pause and play again, it just plays for a milisecond, and then silence again. I wanted to write here about that issue, but it happened 3-4 times in two months. Closing and opening the app which was playing sound solves the problem for me.
I've flashed a newer stock rom in odin, but the bug was still present. But that's definitely a software bug, samsung should know about it.

For me its happen every day. I try different stock rom and nothing. I thinking send it to rma. Its a stupid fault for high end phones.

Try installing south east europe rom, XXU1BPH1 version, it didn't happen to me since that (august) update
Or if u are tired of flashing, send it to samsung, very stupid flaw, I agree!

I have the XXU1BPH1. The phone install september security update but nothing new. I believe the solution is send for rma but i think its a hard problem to solved. Samsung guys reset phone and test two minutes and its ok. Maybe with nougat problem its solved but the update come far away.
Did anyone find a solution for this problem, or contacted Samsung? It's very annoying, and it started happening to me very often.

Nothing. My go two times for warranty with videos for the problem and only restore factory settings and problem persists.
I can't believe it. I mean, that's a major bug if U ask me. I've heard that many people have the same issue. I'll contact samsung about it, maybe the nougat update fill fix it, but who knows when that will come.

Try factory reset and dont open whatsapp. No problem in last two days. The Only diference is i dont open anytime the whatsapp.

It didn't happen to me for a month or more after a reset. So I guess it would be good to wait some time
But keep us updated here, if it's really whatsapp that's causing problems, at least we know who to blame!
Forget the whatsapp. I found the problem in my. Its hardware. Finally i have a way to show in store the problem. Try play a song or youtube video and apply pressure on back of the phone down the camera. Try in yours and tell me something

Hi. See the video.
I still have my S6 Edge and for some reason, its Panorama pic shows the globe icon which means when the image is uploaded on Facebook, you get that "360" feature/effect.
My S8+ Panorama simply uploads a flat image....what gives? Nougat issue? or Forced to promote its Gear 360 deivce? Please help, ty.
Get the "surround" function, that will do 360.
Where? I think I have downloaded all the modes on the camera and none of them say "Surround". Even searching it doesn't give that option.

Yea, I don't see it either, strange. I know that was the mode I had on my note 7. I assumed it would of been there. Maybe have to wait for them to release still.

Well, at least its not just mine but what a bummer. Do you know where can I send this concern to have it checked? I'm not sure if their customer service knows how to deal with this kind of issue.

Not sure where we could bring something like that up to Samsung, maybe somebody will come along with an answer.
I use it one month now I see when I using tiktok after full brightness then it's too much heat and it's not happen with me some more user complaint about that

yes I checked nthg is running in background I don't know why but it's heat like heater when I am making tiktok videos

Check if you have any mkv files on your phone. It was a pretty old issue, should have been fixed by now but it might still be. Search for mkv in your phone and rename them to mp4.
Also, do a factory reset, if it's not fixed, there might be a hardware issue with your phone and it would be better to get it replaced while still in warranty and at the earliest.

I have the global unlocked 9 and the camera is amazing to say the least. I love it. Took a bunch of great photos yesterday out with the kids. What version op9 you have?

It's the T-Mobile software has to be. I'm using global op9 unlocked and love the hassleblad cam. And on latest 1.2.5.5
There's no optical image stabilization on this phone like everything else on the market.
Photos have been great for me. Sounds like a hardware issue. Yeah, no OIS, but unless you're shaking a lot, it should not be blurry.

+1 on unlocked global variant with no Ois and pictures shot through my device are amazing. Def hardware issue with your variant.
