Hello everyone,
I just wanted to make a quick post on how to access the diagnostics menu and how to calibrate some of the sensors. It is the same as other Galaxy devices:
1. Go to the phone dialer on the watch and dial *#0*# (hold "7" to dial "*" and "9" to dial "#")
2. This will bring up the diagnostics menu. Scroll down and tap on "Sensor."
3. From here you can calibrate various sensors by tapping the "Selftest" button for each corresponding sensor.
*Make sure your watch is on a flat surface and is perfectly still while calibrating.*
4. To go back/exit the menu, swipe right.
I know it's sort of old news for other Galaxy devices, but I hope that helps.
Cheers!

Post here your expreince regaeding your note 3 such app , home screan, setting and other.
Thanks,
:good:
#1 – Never lose your S Pen!
The S Pen is integral to the power of the Galaxy Note 3 – not something you want to lose. Here’s how you can set the Note 3 to alert you that you may have left the stylus behind:
Go to Settings > Controls > S Pen
Uncheck “Turn off pen detection”
Check S Pen keeper
This will only work when the screen is off, and if you press “okay” when it warns you once, it won’t warn you again until you redock the S Pen and leave it behind again. So be careful!
#2 – Control your Galaxy Note 3 while wearing gloves
The capacitive screen on the Note 3 isn’t only good for writing and drawing with a stylus, it can also be set to operate while wearing gloves, but you’ve got to enable the option:
Go to Settings > Controls > Increase touch sensitivity (it’s the very last option)
Turn this ON!
#3 – Type with one hand
The Galaxy Note 3 is HUGE which may turn some small-handed people away, but if difficulty in one-handed typing is a concern, please know you can adjust your keyboard accordingly!
Go to Settings > Controls > One-handed operation
Check “Use for all screens”
Only check other boxes if you want them automatically resized all the time
The S Pen also makes typing with Swype an absolute pleasure… give that a try as well!
#4 – Block notifications while you’re sleeping
You don’t want to miss an important call or text from a family member or friend in case of emergency, but notifications from apps and drunk dialing idiots threaten to keep you up all night. And those stinking LED notification lights are BRIGHT! Luckily the Note 3 has a feature for this specific problem called “Blocking Mode”:
Go to Settings > Device > Blocking Mode (the last option)
Turn the feature on
Press “Blocking Mode” to set options
UNCHECK “Turn alarm and timer” unless you want to be late for work
UNCHECK “Always” and set the time period you’re sleeping (otherwise turn this feature on/off at night and in the morning)
MAKE SURE you set your list of “Allowed Contacts” who can bypass this feature (family, friends, booty calls, etc…)
#5 – Lower the screen saturation and contrast
Is Samsung’s outrageously bright and colorful Super AMOLED screen a little TOO bright and colorful? You can do more than lower the screen brightness and instead tone down the contrast and saturation:
Go to Settings > Device > Display > Screen Mode
Select “Professional photo” or “Movie” to tone down the screen if you feel the colors are too vibrant
It doesn’t have a huge impact but it can certainly help.
#6 – Vibrations too strong?
The default notification vibrations are pretty darn strong! You can turn them down:
Go to Settings > Device > Sound > Vibration Intensity
Adjust your incoming call, notification, and haptic feedback vibrations as you see fit!
You can also set your phone to vibrate even when ringing (great if you’re at a bar, party, concert, or other loud place) and change the pattern of the vibration from the same settings area.
#7 – Show the battery percentage in the status bar
It can be really annoying trying to guess how much battery you have left by estimating how much of your little icon is filled up with green. We want numbers! Here is how you can put your exact percentage in the notification bar:
Go to Settings > Device > Display
Scroll down and select “Show battery percentage”
Ah… much more helpful.
#8 to #12 – Motion controls annoying? Only enable these!
Samsung has a boat load of features that detect your eyes and your hands and attempt to behave automatically based on your intents. Most can be annoying but some are pretty useful. I recommend turning ALL of them off except the following. Go to the Settings > Controls > Motion Control section for all of the below:
See notifications without touching your phone!
Air gesture > Quick Glance > On. Wave your hand over the screen for a quick look at notifications. (Turn Air jump, Air browse, and Air call-accept off)
Added Stylus hovering functionality!
Air view mode > On > Auto. This provides extra features when hovering over items with the S Pen, for example popping up larger images when browsing the gallery or scrolling pages up/down. Open “Air view pen options” to see exactly where it works.
Special Air Command Features!
Air Command > On: Quickly add recent attachments and frequent recipients by hovering over these respective fields
Turn both Motions & Palm Motions OFF
Prevent screen from sleeping when you’re looking at it!
Smart Screen > Smart stay > On. Uncheck the rest of these features.
#13 – Search for settings
Already overwhelmed? You can now search your settings to more easily find hidden options!
From the home screen press the Menu button
Select “Settings”
Tap “Search” at the top and have at it! Don’t forget this feature is here… it’s very useful.
#14 – Customize your quick settings buttons
Prefer to have different quick setting toggles in your notification bar? You can change them easily:
Pull down the notification bar
Tap the square icons at the top right
Tap the pencil icons at the top right
Drag available buttons to the Notificaion panel (you’ll have to replace an existing button)
Re-order as you like by dragging and dropping
#15 to #18 – Customize your lock screen
Your lock screen can be more than just a lock screen… you’ve just got to set it up. You can find all of these options in:
Settings > Device > Lock Screen.
15) Add quick launch icons to your lock screen.
Shortcuts > On. Further customize by tapping the icons and selecting your own quick launch apps!
16) Add widgets to your lock screen
Multiple Widgets > On > Favorite Apps. The “Camera” option is relatively useless since you can set a quick launch icon (above) to your camera and it launches much more quickly and smoothly.
17) Personalize with contact info and personal message
If you lose your phone, it’s helpful if your screen shows your contact information so a good samaritan can help you retrieve your device. You might also want to add a little of your own pizzaz.
18) Create a memo without unlocking
Action Memo on lock screen > On. To create an “Action Memo” without unlocking your phone, simply hold down the S Pen button and tap anywhere on the lock screen twice. An Action Memo note will immediately pop up at your disposal! Make sure the setting is enabled in
#19 to #25 – Home Screen Shortcuts
When you’re on the home screen the following buttons provide extra functionality.
19) Hold back button to enable/disable Multi Window
20) Double Press Home Button for S Voice
21) Hold Home button for Recent Apps and access to RAM Manager and Google Now
22) Press Home Button for My Magazine
23) Swipe up from the home button for My Magazine
24) Hold Menu Button for S Finder
25) Press Menu Button to edit your Home Screens, access settings, and read help docs
#26 – Prevent Air Command from launching when stylus removed
Air Command is greatly, but you might get restless if the menu pops up EVERY time you remove the Stylus. You can choose to turn this off (or toggle to automatically open Action Memo, which is probably more annoying).
Go to Settings > Controls > S Pen > Pen detachment options
Select “None”
#27 – Capture screen without S Pen & Screen Writer
To get a screen capture without using Air Command, simply hold the Home and Power Button at the same time. You can also prevent the screen captures from entering edit mode by going to Settings > Device > Display > Edit after screen capture (the last option)
#28 – Turn your phone into a Senior Citizen Saver
Did you buy the Galaxy Note 3 for Grandma or Grandpa because they don’t need a telescope to read the print on the HUGE 5.7 inch screen? Make things even simpler by transforming their phone into an incredibly basic layout that’s hard to NOT understand.
Go to Settings > Device > Easy Mode
Turn it on!
#29 – Display your app drawer in alphabetical order
If you’ve got a ton of apps, flipping through page after page to get to something specific can be a hassle. You can change the layout of your app drawer very easily to make it more convenient:
Open you app drawer
Press the menu button
Press “View type”
Select either “Alphabetical list” or “Alphabetical grid” depending on your preference
#30 – Unlock your phone by saying “Hi Galaxy”
I’ve seen many people complain that saying “Hi Galaxy” won’t work and they can’t find the option in the Note’s settings. That’s because the option is actually hidden in the settings of the S Voice app!
Open S Voice (double tap Home Button or open from your app tray)
Press the Menu button
Select “Settings”
Check “Wake up command”
Turn “Voice wake-up” On to activate S Voice even while the screen is off!
Note: “Hi Galaxy” won’t simply unlock you’re phone… it must be followed by a voice command to become useful (see below)

^^ This feature won't work if you have it switched on and the 'Palm Motions' off. So, if you want to use the above feature, make sure to switch the Palm motion on.
Also, there are a lot more features which I thought were not working in my phone at first, but then I realised that we need to switch on some other features to make them work. Hence, if you think that any of the motion feature doesn't works on your phone then switch on all, yes all of them and then try it. It should probably work then!

When I tried this using the timer, it never turned off, I missed a call next morning about a job interview.
Are there any settings elsewhere that interfere?

Hello,
After getting my Gear S2 back from Samsung service (I tried to wash it via the faucet water stream, it entered an infinite reboot cycle and then died - IP68 compatible huh?) I turned it on and it appeared to enter some sort of Service Menu. I haven't left this menu (nor do I know how, except maybe a factory reset?), but I would like to know how I could reenter it if I wished to, in the future. Googling for this yielded no results, and that is shocking. I wanted to post an image showing this menu, but I'm not allowed to since I've got less than 10 posts.
Thanks.
Should be able to just upload it to a photo service, like imgur and just pasting the link as text, if you wish to share it. Interested in what it looks like.
Hi. Looking for this menu in the web, i found the method for the Gear 2, and *i think* is the same. I tried succesfully in my Gear S2.
Just go to the dialer and press: *#0*#
and you can enter to a menu titled TESTMODE
You can exit from this menu pressing twice in the upper button.
Greetings.
Pressing the upper button twice does nothing. In fact, I'm unable to exit this mode even with a restart or a factory reset (via Gear Info -> Reset). Here's the link, delete the spaces.
http :// i . imgur . com / taR0NEH.jpg
I brought it back to the service and apparently they forgot to flash it. That was a default service Tizen that ships from the factory. It contains tests and it's supposed to be overwritten once the mobo is replaced.

Thanks for the info about the Test Mode. The Sensor screen was fun.
Rob
Good!. I tried to find this menu but i only guessed that is for developer options or something like that (because a lot of tizen icons).
Also i tried some codes for Samsung devices and found some of them work in my Gear S2 (use at your own risk):
*#06# Serial Number
*#0*# LCD Test Menu
*#1234# Version Info
*#12580*369# Main Version
*#0228# Battery Status
*#0*# General Test Mode
*#2663# Touch Firmware Version
*#0283# Audio Loopback Control
*#9900# Log Dump
*#34971539# Camera Firmware Update
*#7353# Self Test
Greetings
Did anyone noticed...
I find an easy way to input these codes; plus others that in the dialer doesn't work.
Go to Settings>> Gear info>> Device>> Software version (push 5 times the button) A system ui with a different dialer let you input codes- it's like when we try to get the developer options on android phone.
Hope it helped!
Even though the P2 can be considered large with a 5.5" display, the lower region of the screen is occupied by the on-screen navigation bar. While there's an option to turn off the navigation bar and use the fingerprint button exclusively, I still find this alternative lacking in many fronts:
1. I can't tell you how many times I return to the home daily; it gets tiring to always have to push down the fingerprint button.
2. You need to touch the fingerprint button for a second or so before the recent apps window is launched. If you've ever had the need to flip between apps quickly, you would know how irritating this delay is.
3. Because one button is used for three functions (back, home, recent apps), there's no way to quickly switch between apps (like alt+tab in windows).
4. I sometimes find myself lying on my side, holding the phone with one hand, and finding it almost impossible to reach all the way down to the navigation bar, let alone the fingerprint button.
Fortunately, I have a solution that I believe addresses all of the problems above and that is to navigate the phone through the use of gestures.
I've been using GMD GestureControl for about a week now and I think I've found an optimal combination of gestures that don't only work but are also intuitive to use. There's nothing you can lose by giving it a try.
It can take a bit of time to set it up the way I have mine set up. So, if you don't feel like spending some time doing it yourself, you can just "restore" my "titanium backup" backup. Download it from here. Just extract the zip file and copy the content into your "titanium backup" folder. Open "titanium backup" and restore.
If instead, you would like to set it up yourself, here's how I currently have mine set up:
1. After installing the app, the first thing to do is go to "Device Setup" by pressing the menu button on the top right corner of the screen. Change your values to the one you see in the first attached image below. Then go to "Settings", and change the values to those in the second attached image.
2. To create a gesture: press the plus button > Select a gesture > create path. You can see all the gestures I created in the third attached image. Recreate all of them.
3. You can decide which region of the screen a gesture is detected by choosing the appropriate zone in the "select starting zone" option.
4. You need to go to "advanced options" (attached image no. 4) at the bottom of the screen to decide whether or not the gesture can be triggered when the keyboard is active. I have most of the gestures disabled when the keyboard is active because I sometimes swipe to type and I don't want to accidental swipe to trigger something. For this reason, I have duplicated most of the gestures for the only the top half of the screen (above the keyboard) so that the gestures still continue to work when the keyboard is activated.
5. Make sure you enable "evaluate on release" on all gestures so that a gesture is only triggered after you lift your finger off the screen.
If you've gone through all the steps, it's now time to start trying things:
1. To open resent apps, just make a small ^ sign anywhere on the screen.
2. To go home, just make a small V sign anywhere on the screen.
3. To flip between apps, just make a small < or > sign anywhere on the screen, starting from the top.
4. To press back, swipe away from left or the right edge.
5. To open the launchpad, swipe up on the left or right edge.
Good looking out. I really like this option.
Hello,
I have a Samsung S6 with android 7.0 running on it. (latest stock firmware) The screen got cracked this week and the digitizer and OLED are not working anymore.
I've got some 2 FA keys in google authenticator that i did not backup. Now i know that i have to keep the QR code safely... but that is too late in this case. I don't want to buy a new screen...
I did manage to get a full backup of my phone by attaching a keyboard with an OTG cable. but this will not recover the 2FA keys in Google Authenticator.
How you can unlock your phone with a keyboard:
1. attach a keyboard with an OTG cable.
2. press the 'esc' button' and 'backspace' button
3. insert your password and press enter. You should hear the unlock sound. (you can unlock with the fingerpint from now on, if it was set)
I did activate developer options before but i disabled it when i'm not using it. So i have to activate it again.
I think i can enable Developer mode blindly by following these steps. The phone needs to be unlocked.
1. typ one letter. This will bring up google search. press backspace and delete (just to be sure it is blank). Now type 'Settings'
2. Press the down key once
3. Press enter
4. press the down key for 10 seconds (this should focus the item on the last option in the list, which is 'developer mode' )
5. press enter
6. press up once
7. press right once
8. enter
developer options should now be enabled.not sure how i can check this tho. I checked if my computer can find my phone. I can access the internal memory because the phone is unlocked.
i asume developer options is enabled... The next step is re-activating debugging mode in order to mirror the screen. But 'adb devices' does not show any device yet. This means 'debugging mode' is still deactivated.
So i'm trying to enable 'Debugging mode' within the 'developer options'.
I searched on youtube to see how the menu looks like in Android 7 on a S6 so i can figure out how many keys i need to press in order to re-activate USB debugging. But i seem to be stuck on this step.
My question: can somebody make screenshots or a video from a samsung S6 (with android 7.0) device with a keyboard attached that shows how many key presses are needed to activate USB debugging?
When i'm in the developer options menu i think i have to press 9 times down, hit enter, then press the right key once and then hit enter again.
Can someone confirm that this is correct?
The RSA keys for my pc were already accepted previously. so that should not be an issue. unless i hit the 'revoke keys' options by accident... (i hope not!)
if anyone knows an other way to activate USB debugging without erasing the whole phone, please tell me. I need access to my 2FA keys. :crying:
edit:
i'm not sure if the steps to enable Developer mode are working. I'm reproducing the steps on an old S5 phone. I now realize that there are internet suggestions when typing "Settings' on the S5 model. I need to press 4x down then enter. hmmm... These suggestions only pops up when wifi is enabled. I can ping my S6 phone. So WiFi is enabled on my broken s6.
---
It would be awesome if someone can record a video that shows me (and potentially others) how to install and run 'SideSync' through keystrokes. on an S6 with android 7.0. SideSync can then mirror and control the screen on a pc..
I'm going to try this blindly for now... fingers crossed
edit2: it seems that SideSync needs a code that is shown on the S6 screen. damn it. Searching for other solutions...
Kind Regards,
Vincent
