Magisk Hide after update - Moto G 5G Questions & Answers

I flashed the .95 update with some trouble. After the update, rooting, getting r/w access and debloating, Magisk shows that I no longer pass safety net. I have the Magisk Hide option selected.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone else find a solution?
Everything seems to be working.

Had the same problem, fixed it by following the steps on this link. Bit of a pain but it worked.
PS - Make sure you scroll down to the "Update" solution on this link, that's what worked for me.

I used the update tool from Motorola to download the ROM. Then used fastboot to flash it in pieces. Then installed Magisk and rooted. Then got r/w access. Then used "pm" to debloat. It wiped everything except the sdcard but my Titanium backups were on the card. It took me most of the day to do all of this and put in my passwords.

Received an OTA today, any idea what it is?

I had an OTA update available this morning. It's only 51.3 MB so it can't be anything major. Maybe a stagefright fix? Anyway, I pulled it just in case anyone wants to check it out. I'm already on D80130B. I'm rooted with TWRP. Is there any easy way to install it without losing TWRP?
Here's the link for it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ast6zoe514ikjk/update.zip?dl=0
Is it 878 TMO/T-MOBILE(USA) V30c?
D80130c_00.kdz is 1.05 GiB as usual.

I thought stagefright fix too so I let it go for the heck of it. It installed fine and I didn't seem to lose root or anything. I ran a stagefright test and only 2 are blocked which I think is what it told me a couple months ago. I didn't see any obvious changes.

I do. I just ran it right from my running phone. I was in the middle of some work so I wasn't watching it but as far as I know it installed fine. If I check for updates now it says there are none, up to date.
Just tried to install the OTA (51.3 MB).
Phone rebooted, tried to install it and showed error.
Have to hold power button quite sometime to reboot the phone.

Once it went through for somebody, he can tell us!
I noticed that it fixed all but one stage fright vulnerability.
I also just realized that it patched many of the current root solutions.

Oh really? So you lost root then?
I just switched to TMO and got a refurb LG G2 a couple of weeks ago. I stupidly took the OTA before rooting and then realized that many of the root exploits didn't work afterwards. Thanks to the brilliant devs at XDA, I did find a method that works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
I'm a happy camper running CM 12.1 now!
I am half tempted to unroot using SuperSU unroot tool, see if I can apply the patch and see what happens... or has anyone tried this yet?

I'm not sure that would work. Being rooted doesn't usually prevent the manual installation of updates. The problem is whether or not you have a custom recovery. I believe the OTA needs the stock recovery to install.

which ROM for as close to stock android as possible for SM-G930F

I see a lot of custom ROMs on https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development but I am not sure which to use. My main goal is to remove all the builtin Samsung apps that I cannot disable/uninstall like Calendar and Internet. I started looking at SuperMan but then saw it has a lot of other enhancements too. I also want to avoid my device being rooted because I have to install apps that won't install if my phone is rooted (GFE/BlackBerry Work).
LineageOS or Resurrection Remix.
Just disable the Samsung apps you don't want. That's the only remedy for you.
SuperMan is probably the closest you'll get to stock. If that's too far off, I'm not really sure of any other options. You could temporarily root and try removing the offending apps, I'm not sure how much the system depends on them.
There's also the option of Magisk (Systemless) root, which shouldn't effect root-adverse apps.
I have rooted stock G930F rom with Magisk and removed close to a 100 system apps. No bugs, no crashes, and it is the best rom there is, if you tweak it right. Btw, you can hide root with Magisk and install your apps.

Please take my advice:
Do NOT root your device.
Cause that has some side effects and nearly no benefits:
You won't be able to encrypt your phone again.
You'll have to install magisk to get some things to work
Do NOT install an AOKP based ROM cause there are severe bluetooth bugs.
Just install "BK Package Disabler (Samsung)" on stockrom and get rid of Samsungs bloatware.
PS:
I'm back to stockrom after installing LOS and I regret that step, cause it tripped the knox-bit.
Perhaps the BT bugs will be fixed in future; then I'll give LOS another shot.
Lol @ this lad above, get your facts straight.
On-topic: I followed root instructions from galaxys7root. For the debloating part, there is a topic called "Debloat your S7" or something like that, which helped me uninstall most of the apps, and the other ones I just uninstalled cause I didn't need them.

How did you get your phone encrypted again?

OK, TB would be one thing for me.

Rooting went flawlessly.
I took the TWRP / Magisk way.
OK, loosing all the data is quite normal, when formating data, to get rid of the encryption.
But it trips your knox-fuse with the following consequences:
S-Health does not work anymore. OK, there is a build.prop hack to get it working.
OTA updates will not work anymore.
S-Pay (and others) is said to not work anymore.
Encryption does not work or is risky (look at Chainfires post):
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72204306&postcount=978
No one knows, how long safetynet will be covered by Magisk. Btw.: Magisk is great!
If I am wrong at any point, pls correct me.
I only rooted to use LOS. But there are too many errors atm.
So I returned to stock and have to live with these issues.
So it depends on your usecase.
If you just want to debloat your stockrom, use BK- disabler.
If you want more, root it.

And, in my opinion, it works reliable and comfortable.

Google pay error

Running stock ROM not rooted, getting this error? .. bootloader is unlocked though
Google has Google pay check for an unlocked bootloader. If you are unlocked it will fail, you do not have to be rooted just bootloader unlocked for Safteynet to fail. You might as well install Magisk and let it hide that you are unlocked and rooted if you wish to use Google Pay. If you do not want to root, then just relock the bootloader, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE STOCK RECOVERY AND NO CUSTOM RECOVERY INSTALLED. Otherwise you will brick your device. Also, be aware that relocking your bootloader will wipe all internal data off the phone so backup any photos, files, anything of importance before relocking bootloader.

What are you talking about? I've been using Magisk with passing safetynet since it came out a couple years ago. I just used Google Pay times today with no issues.
The issue is Google will fail Safetynet if you just have an unlocked bootloader and no magisk installed to pass the safetynet checks.

Magisk DOES hide it.
i have an unlocked bootloader, TWRP, MAGISK, and a custom kernel installed
and ive been using google pay for the past week without issues.
Why would I give users wrong impression? It's happening to me!!! Just because it doesn't happen to you or others then it cannot be true?
I've also an unlocked bootloader, TWRP and Magisk installed and Magisk is not hiding specific apps. Simple as that.

Done that, but made no difference. Just reading on another thread that it appears to be an issue for many.
Magisk Hide works fine out of the box (no alterations) with Google Pay for me.
Historically, when it fails it's because Magisk is out of date.
hallo dare, if you want help, post your Magisk Manager's landing page, then another of your test results. Past that, you should head over to the Magisk XDA thread.
Edit:
I guess I forgot to mention I am on the BETA channel - so not exactly without alteration.

Apps won't install on my rooted Poco F2 pro

Hey guys!
This is urgent!!
Since I've rerooted my android with magisk, I've had a problem. Sometimes when I want to install an application of the internet, it won't install. It will download, yes, but when I want to install it into my phone, it prompts me to open it in another app or share it. When I click that, it says there was an error. But the thing is, it shouldn't even ask me that. Normally I should be able to directly install the app but it won't. This problem doesn't happen always, but it occurs now and then and more frequently lately..someone please help me and tell me why exactly this is happening?? I can't install any apps like this.
thanks
my device is also rooted with magisk,i never had any profile.May be problem is safety net, use safety net fix module and restart the device

I download the stock Rom of rjmixm and extract the boot.img.
Then I install Magisk manager and click on" select and patch file". I choose the boot.img and click on "let's go". After magisk patches it, it got renamed to something like "boot_patchedVmK" or whatever. I copy it to my computer and flash it via command - - > flash boot boot_patcherVmK...img". After successful flashing of the patched boot.img onto my phone, I restart it. Then my phone is rooted.
