Question Is it really WearOS 3 from Google?? - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Is it??
Or is it a hacked version of WearOS 2 to run on Exynos soc? Or maybe even Tizen hacked to look like WearoS?
Just don't get why Google aren't releasing WearOS 3 until at least. Q1 next year, not even for Fossil who they own, yet Samsung try to give the impression of Wear OS without ever saying Wear OS 3.
Show me a screen shot from a watch that says Google Wear OS 3 and then I'll believe it. Until theen it's a con.

I'm not getting it until everything is clear. Samsung is known to cut corners and keep quiet about it

More like a hacked version of tizen to run Google things

Consipracy theories everywhere.
It is running on android 11 (version used for Wear OS 3.0).
Wear OS 2.XX is running on android 9.

Maybe tizen was always based on Android but with Samsung's edits now they've just taken the skin off it

Both Wear OS and Tizen are based on Linux kernel.
History of Tizen goes back to mid 2007 (Moblin) so it's actully slightly older that Android.

Not convinced until I see a screen shot that clearly says Google Wear OS 3!
Keep trying!

Wear OS version TBD ?

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this was the biggest con job they pulled over us! Google being lazy and forgotten the existence of wear os....and samsung gave them an easy out...
Where's that week long battery life they talk about? That's the one thing I hate about the w4....the abysmal battery life....

I am getting maximum a day only and sometime even less.
With heart rate off and hardly done any excercise.
Display itself is taking at least 7% battery per hour even if I am idle.
If I put any fancy colorful watch face, it drains toooooo fast.

It's usually an offending app or usage of LTE. Make sure to set LTE always off....and turn it on only when you need it. In my case Spotify was eating up battery life like crazy....and now I force stop Spotify when I'm done using it...
I have HR set to continuous and spo2/snore for sleep measurement, no AOD, raise to wake enabled and usually an hour of fitness with 30mins using GPS.....gives me 40hrs of life

Is there any way to on/off lte in single click, from tiles maybe? Or do we need to go to setting>Connection> Lte every time?
Also in the drop down menu if you click add button "mobile data' will appear, what does it do? Even if we turn it off, cellular icon still appears. I assume it is data only on/off and not calls???
Also for 40 hours backup we need to use some dark watch face right?

Watch faces killing battery

I recently noticed that watch faces has been killing my battery the last 2 days with no increased usage on my part. The battery info within the Gear app says Watch Faces has consumed 30% of my battery while everything else is in the single digits. I left the house for work this morning at 55% and am now at 7% just 8 hours later with light usage! BTW, I'm using one of the seemingly lowest impact faces "Gear Dashboard"
That had happened to me today.Changed from "Gear Dashboard" to "Tronica" by Pluto.. I lost 20% in 2 hours without doing anything.Sometimes it gets caught in an applications or faces. I happened with "Style for notification Wear S2". Already, after installing a faces or applications, giving restart the clock. For any safety.
Trimis de pe al meu SM-G928F folosind Tapatalk
I use a digital pro z5 face. All was fine until I restarted the watch. I don't remember why I did it. After that the watch started to discharge 7-8% per hour. It was insane cause in almost 24 hours the watch lost like 18% but after the restart it went crazy. I don't know if the face was causing the trouble or the gear application.
I will test the watch for few more days. Today it got an update. I will see after this how it works else I will return it to the shop. I have time till the mid of January to do it no metter what and get fully refunded.

Having Same Issue
I was playing around with a few different watchfaces and then picked one. Overnight I see that even though the watch was in airplane mode it lost about 6 -7% per hour! What is going on. The battery usage says that watchface used 57% even though the watch is off. If it happens again it's going back
There have also several updates recently, like shealth and other apps. Don't rule them out.

Sure, the updates may affect usage but the battery use still shows that watchfaces THE major contributor with 57% use overnight. That was with airplane mode on??? Don't understand that at all particularly phone was also in airplane mode and both on my desk.
Well, dump the watchface and use another one
I have the same problem. No matter which watchface i choose, its always at the top of the list of battery drainer with over 30%.
With AOD, the watchface will be a major battery drainer, but the total hourly discharge rate should not be more than 4% per hour unless there's a constant activity, like streaming audio, running GPS, or logging an exercise.
Reports under normal usage seem to average ~2-3% per hour with BT, and a little higher for LTE.

Doesn't matter which one - they all behave the same (built-in or downloaded). Lot's of other reports with similar issues - watchface is at top of list!
Hi, i have always Watch faces at First, but my Watch runs about 3-4 days

Might have to get my money back as well, switched face to Chronograph, been connected via Bluetooth all morning and it lost 20% in 2 hours!! Plus, every reboot I have to re-enable numbersync!? Work it the F out Samsung/AT&T; its a watch not a space shuttle!
No problem here, bt and location on, aod off, drain 1-2% per hour 3 tops when I'm stressing it
Btw, look my health @23%
Ik super healthy, haha
Anyway, have you tried a soft reset?
Why is your s-health @23%? Normally I got 10.000 steps a day
Did you do any additional sports?
With a soft reset, you mean a restart? Yes have I done, think about a factory reset......
I guess my health is ok. Yours is so low cause its relative to the extreme watch percentage.
I use the watchface "All in one" for about 3 weeks and yesterday after 8 hours suddenly the battery was empty. No idea why!
I wonder why Samsung can't test the software before releasing it to the market. It's annoying thinking of their Note 7 failure. They never learn their lesson! I'm still in doubt to return it or not.

Where can I see battery usage since last charge (the total time)?

So I am new to both the S10e and Android 10 (or 9) and I can't find where the total battery usage since the last charge is displayed. On the battery usage page there is only 2 charts which show percentages, and not time, individual times per app, not total time, and even if I were to manually add the individual times together, for each separate day, I'm still missing standby time. Googling I found that there is supposed to be a 3-dot menu button to enable full usage statistics but I can't find that either. Am I just being a noob or did Samsung decide we don't need to now the usage time since last charge?
I use GSam Battery Monitor. You can find it in the Play Store.

I will check it that app out but did Samsung really remove this basic information or Google did? I don't really like adding yet another app for something that should be there by default.
So I've been googling for the past few days and found little to no information on this issue. What makes it worse is that I don't even know if this is standard in Android 10, it's only on Samsung phones, or only on this specific model. Installing a third party app is something I am trying to avoid, but after all the useless information on the net (when you google android and battery, the results you get are either people complaining about battery life or people providing the same old useless tips for improving battery life, none of which answer my question) I've actually answered my own question. It seems the information I seek was there all along, hidden in plain sight (though not exactly what I was looking for but it's better than nothing). Check the shot below:

The second chart has the time. 0 - 4 - 8 - 12 - 16 - 20. Why it's in sections of 4, I dont know, why it's missing the key number, 24, I don't know, why they didnt bother adding just a small "h" to the scale so people can see those numbers are actually hours, I don't know. Now, this still doesn't give me the total usage since last full charge (the charge was on dec 19th) because I have yet to find a way to select multiple days, if I select the individual days, 19,20 and 21 and approximately add up the charts, I get the total time. So, 21st has about 12h (as you can see above), 20th has 24h, and 19th has about 20-30 mins there, I'd say 36-37 hours of usage since last charge. Now, why exactly they removed this tiny bit of useful information is beyond me (it's been there all the way up till Android 8, I don't about 9, and it's gone in 10, or just removed by Samsung, again still don't know if it's been removed by Google or specific to Samsung only, I don't have another non-Samsung Android 10 phone just lying around for me to check).
Maybe someone can shed some light on this issue, maybe there is a way to select multiple days in the chart so it's automatically added up, maybe it will be added back in a future patch (yeah, right).
I've seen Android 10 on Pixel 4, it shows battery usage and screen on time since last full charge, so it's just OneUI 2.0 that doesn't.
Not only they removed this, they also removed idle time and its battery usage.
This would be my last Samsung phone.

I appreciate the confirmation. At least we know it's on Samsung, not Google.
Anyone know of an app that adds the battery settings back to the quick settings? It's REALLY inconvenient to get the battery stats for this. I can't understand why Samsung removed that from quick settings.
I noticed the same issue with my S10e. This OS seems to be full of bugs and issues [emoji35]

when will Android 11 update will be available to N9860
it is taking to long to receive it
any one know why ?
No clue....I'm still waiting being on Nov 1 patch!!
My S20 FE (Exynos) already received it month ago, while the Snapdragon version of the same still hasn't received it.
I'm beginning to think Exynos is getting a lot of early love.

It's available on chc csc, but if you use Google dialer ussd codes, android 11 stops them from working so now I can't enable wwd csc. I'm going up downgrade to 10. I lost 5g and many features. Do not like it
I'm on 9860 rooted
It is available on the TGY variant now.

I updated on the 4th of February but so far the battery usage appears to be similar although it's early days.
The only hiccup so far for me is the amount of apps in the folder that shows on one page i.e 3x4 now, but that's no deal breaker.
Sorry but I do not use Goodlock or any of the plug ins.
The finger print scanner appears faster and more accurate.
I like the way I can tap on the date and time on my lockscreen which now then shows my calendar , music and weather.
All early days.

Call quality is the same.
I mainly use mobile data but WiFi is strong.
Network signal is the same.
I turn my phone off at night and charge then so I'm not sure on charging times.
I use Spotify Premium coupled with Samsung Buds Live and the quality remains very good although I'm no audiophile in any sense of the word.
The new volume bar reminds me a little bit of iOS !

Thank you for your feedback.
Lets see when would I get it in Pakistan
Few bugs for me
- Night mode shots take WAY longer to process
- Camera apparently taking brighter pics than before , I have to always reduce brightness slider for faces
- Gallery straight from GCAM crashes, very slow to load when you delete pics
- Goodlock Multistar, Clockface, Pantastic and Quickstar working with their updated versions
- Battery life almost same
I decided to do factory reset since I'm noticing fps drops in games.
Wow, there is a huge difference now. The phone is literally flying and the games just runs perfect for me now.
I really recommend it if you notice performance drops.

How man i cant get past 4hsot in my best days
It will vary with everyone. We use our devices different. Connectivity comes into play..what apps you have..what's running in background. I average 8hrs screen time but me posting what I have done is not going to get the same results as the next person. Screen on times are great but are people actually using the device or just watching a few movies that are 1hr30min. Are they just watching YouTube videos over and over, or do they have so many things disabled what was the point to getting a flagship device. So for me I use adb app control to disable At&t bloat, use a darker wallpaper, have some apps set to not run in the background. But I do not disable a ton of stuff. But again how I use my device is not the same as the next. But a week ago I did use the crap out of the device just to see what it would do, and I did get a 9hr screen time. But again I watched a lot of YouTube

None of this means anything unless people post their settings, specifically refresh rate, resolution, brightness level (auto or other), etc.
I'm getting about the same on 5.0 as I did on 4.1. I can get 6 hours of screen on time, 1440p, 120hz, auto brightness, although I am using the extra dim feature, but auto is still checked.
If I didn't have the Facebook app I think it would be a lot better honestly but I am using it. Oh well.
That was my point everyone uses device different. I turn off 5G and use Lte because where I live it's very spotty. Brightness at about 40%

Honestly little debloating. The biggest thing on mine is I keep high refresh off and have apps that would constantly sync in the background put in deep sleep. Depending on where I'm at I'll turn off 5G. The main thing is I made sure all the T-Mobile garbage is turned off and that the actual Facebook app isn't installed. I tend to keep my brightness around ~30% as I spend the day either in my place for work, or at the gym where it isn't overly bright.
I forgot to mention I'm on an unlocked version of the phone, not a carrier variant. And every time i update my phone to a newer firmware I clear the cache. Honestly makes a huge difference.
This is me. I can not complain tbh.

*5h 15min SOT;
*Mostly on WiFi, but keeping network on 5G;
*120Fhz, 1080p, adaptive brightness (but I find myself turning it down manually as it goes too bright);
*Most apps which don't trigger notifications are in deep sleep as well as location turned off for them or while on only;
*Usage mostly WhatsApp, Youtube, Instagram, Browser.
