I'm passing SafetyNet on my 8T, but the Pay app is saying that my phone's been modified.

Gotcha. Thanks.
*edit* needed to hide Magisk by renaming the apk via its settings, additionally. Should help some people.

@spart0n SPAY watch plugin is not getting installed on my galaxy smartphone. Perhaps model is not supported. Can I try using magisk hide in this case? How can I hide SPAY in magisk if spay is not already installed

New Samsung Pay app update doesn't works on Rooted Devices

New update to Samsung Pay app for Gear (Version:1.3.1703) breaks Spay on Rooted devices. Existing cards already added using the older version of app still works. New cards can't be added using newer version of the app on rooted devices.
Workaround: Hide Samsung Pay app using Magisk hide to make SPay work again on rooted devices.

did hiding it really worked? i tryied that and it didnt for me.
Hello, I just got my S3 watch and I have an unrooted stock Axon 7. After installing SPay through the Gear app and then launching SPay; SPay is telling me it can't run on rooted devices. Again, my device isn't rooted and passes SafetyNet check.
Can you tell me which version of SPay for Gear works for you?
Thanks

What phone do you have. I Habs a galaxy s5 with a custom tw rom but it's mostly stock and it had all Knox related things removed. I also installed magisk and have everything working including safety net but it's not working still its telling me that my phone won't work due to root. I also tried it with my phone unrooted and still got the same error

Have you used it fine after the update? Don't know why Knox would be a problem as the gears s3 works with non Samsung phones too. Just waiting for more people to realize that samsung pay won't work anymore on their phone and to report back here
update also not working on stock Axon 7 and Axon pro now either, will re-root later and try magisk and see if able to get it working again
Chalk up another for issues with the new update. So does the magisk hide work for custom roms non tw based? or is this working for your on touchwiz roms that are rooted?
Spay
Not sure about touchwiz bazed Roms. With magisk hide SPay is working properly on Oneplus 3 (rooted). Using Open Beta 13.
Mine is not working also, Nexus 6p - PureNexus rom. I wonder if Magisik can fix this

You are able to add cards? And u have the latest update?
Same problem here rooted nexus 6p, I tried Magisik hiding doesn't seem to work for me. anyone have a workaround?
So when you first install the gear manager and tap on Samsung pay, it goes to download the "Samsung Pay (mobile)" module, this is a different version from the Samsung pay (gear) and apparently different than the one I had installing in the background. I wonder if it's possible to get an old version of this rom and install that.
Update:
So yes it was the Samsung Pay (Gear) app that is the culprit causing problems now like its bigger brother. It refuses to work when magisk is running, safetynet passed, with the custom verison I'm using now, or even with Magisk 12. So heres what I did, ran my nandroid that i made taking me back to damn near stock for my note 3 resurrection rom. (restored phone using light reset) installed the latest Gear manager, Gear plugin, and gear accessory service. I installed the SPay app released in december, and was able to make it through the installatin, refuse the update to the newest spay app, and then successfully add cards and have them show up on my gear.
Interestingly enough, my watch knew I was running an outdated version of SPay and refused to work until I updated to the newest version on my phone. Begrudingly, I updated, and got the same nastygram about "my device being rooted, that I kick puppies and punch babies and that they're going to tell my mom if I don't stop, call us so we can sell you a new phone" message.
Good luck to you should to try it, I'm gonna go to the gas station now and get a chocolate muffin and test it out.

If you have an U.S. bought watch it should work, you can call samsung support to help you
As I understood there was a method to spoof it with root, that would force an install, but is no longer working, and do not want to root my s8, was thinking of doing it on another phone bkp and reatore watch
Anyway it has been releses in thw UK, so ut should not take long to reach the rest of the world...

I haven't. But I've only had the watch a couple of weeks, saw the dev scene was pretty much bill, and only installed apps through gear app & play store.
So can I just transfer the old apks with filesmaster and install them? I haven't installed from unknown sources yet.
Samsung pay isn't a system app? I can just uninstall then install the older apk?

Netflix app not compatible with my device (FRD-L04)

Hello
Recently, I tried to install the Netflix app in my device, FRD-L04, and notice it didn't appear in the search in the Play Store. Then, I proceed to search for it using my PC, found it and when trying to install to my device, there was the message that the app was not compatible with my phone.
I'm currently running update B385 but I believe I had the app when I was using B360. Does anyone else have experienced the same issue? I had to go to Netflix webpage and from there, download the APK for old Android versions (4.4 and later).
That's because you have your phone rooted.
Simply search and download the early version of Netflix (Netflix-4.16.1 build 15145) and you got it running.

As far as I know, my phone is not rooted. Just an unlocked bootloader, unless that counts as being rooted. Which would be weird, because I can still install Netflix in my old Nexus 7, which is not only booloader unlocked, but also flashed with a custom rom.
Just checked with a couple root checker apps and both of them tell me that my device is not rooted.
"... Just an unlocked bootloader..." That's Why!

Like Crake said, Netflix blocks downloading from devices with unlocked bootloaders, rooted or not. You can grab the latest APK from APKMirror, it should work fine.

Not trying to make a mess out of this. Just pointing out that it is weird that some devices do get blocked and other don't. I'll just download the apk and keep going. Thanks for your answers.

In case of Snapchat u can download app but u can't login in. If ur saftynet is tripped then u can't download apps like Netflix and u also can't use payment solutions like Android Pay.
People aren't concerned abt safety net to protect themselves from attackers it is more for the proper functioning of apps and services on ur phone.

I dunno. Being able to use my phone to pay at legacy POS terminals is pretty awesome. Even if samsung pay doesn't get adopted as a mobile payment standard, MST still works fine.
Hell I'm working in Korea and I can pay bills, pay for all forms of transit, shop online, and send money from messages with Samsung pay. Even my Gear S3 being able to use MST is awesome, allowing me to make 10 purchases before the next time it pair back to my phone.
I'd hardly say it's overrated. It's a feature. Just like being rooted is a feature. It's utility depends on the user.

Yes, uninstalling Magisk will result in your device going in no-root stage. Uninstalling Xposed doen't affect device's root-stage.
