I tried to install lineage OS and actually was able to install it. I thought of going back to Samsung but somehow wiped the device clean. I now have TWRP (V2.8.6.0) on SD card which boots in recovery. But I don't know how to flash another image on it.
The SD card (32GB) has one boot partition and another one of about 3 GB. I copied this image but can't find it anywhere in TWRP file explorer. I really love this device's display and don't want to let it go to waste.

Download the lineageOS ROM file and flash it via TWRP. Then, boot into lineageOS, when it boots into system, power the device off. Download mode should work and be recognized by Odin now.
Then, download your device's stock Samsung firmware if you haven't already downloaded it.
Then, boot the device into download mode and flash the firmware via Odin.

Good day everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am in desperate need of your help. I recently purchased a HTC One S from an online store they told me it was new never used locked phone. Turns out phone was rooted, 4g does not work, and it could not recognize e drive, (internal sd card)
After reading the all in one i re-rooted it and install the teamwin version of recovery.
Now i never had any back ups or any factory files. as i got the phone rooted with software that did not work. My phone now has no rom and i cannot install from adb sideloader, or an other means. I am new to this and cannot seem to figure out how to get my phone back to even stock un-rooted etc. I tried multiple forums and download links but nothing.
i was able to install vipers rom at one point but despite several attempts to reinstall. recovery does not see files loaded. which i can see on my mac or pc.
the other strange thing i notice is that at the top in fastboot mode i sometimes see unlocked in pink only and other times i see both unlocked and tampered. when its unlock only none of my computers recognize connection.
I also tried boot.img for flash. The furthest my screen no goes is the htc logo, then goes black.
Please help, even to just point me in rite direction to have this resolved.
the boot.img, did you flash it via fastboot? (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
And, one question that comes to mind... they sold you a device as new, yet it wasnt.. Why didnt you return it?

Yes I tried several times loading the boot.img via fastboot.
As far as returning the device i trashed the mailing box but kept original packaging so no return address. I called the company which i made the purchase from "N1wireless" several times and sent several emails to them. They have yet to reply or answer any of my calls. Which is why I am so frustrated.

Boot into recovery, select mount > mount usb storage. From pc move the Rom.zip to your sd card which should now be showing on your pc. After it is moved to your phone select unmount then press home button in twrp recovery. Then install the Rom. After install open up adb and type adb reboot bootloader then press enter. Now fastboot flash the boot img from inside the Rom.zip on your computer. After that reboot your phone and report back

Hi, thanks for the reply, thats just the thing I cannot in recovery install any rom loaded to sd card. It fails. I tried reinstalling the recovery and it still not reading my sd card.
So my guess is i need a new twrc or how to do it from my mac, as now when i try on my pc it is failing as-well. Once I get the recovery to work I will try your other suggestions as I think it will work based on the steps you mentioned.
I am trying to figure out how to use terminal to reinstall recovery. any suggestions or links will be greatly appreciated.:good:
you install recoveries through fastboot, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I reinstalled recovery several times now and it wont recognize the sd card. is there another recovery i can download and use? Also is there any instructions for a newby to use terminal to re-boot, everything from scratch. Meaning if the phone is completely blank except the fast boot and a recovery manager no backups or stock kernel etc. what is the format to be used in order for the computer and recovery to recognize the sd card?
I think I need a good recovery rom like cmod if there is one for the htc one s or the stock one if someone has it.
hi i had that problem

I had that problem the sd card would not be seen by my laptop and the phone would not boot at all if you plug in the phone to your go to start and then computer right click on your c drive go to manage and see if you can see it there if so try to format it and then reboot the phone if it works you can then install cwm as a recovery system then you can put what rom you wont on it i am use in zenRom 1.05 and to me its the best coz it like the htc rom that the phone come with if that don`t work let me know coz i have more tricks to try i hope this helps you out.
Theres only TWRP and CWM for the S afaik, and CWM sucks. TWRP is the one to use.
I had a similar problem a few days ago, luckily there's not such a bad solution.
1) Pick a custom ROM you want to install from the HTC One S developer forums (I went with Trickdroid) and download the ROM/boot image.
2) Then download and flash the stock recovery here: http://www.4shared.com/file/1UuxTh0k/stock_recovery.html
3) Boot into bootloader, clear storage and then reset to factory defaults.
4) Flash TWRP
5) Reboot into recovery, sdcard should now be mounted/visible
Then push the ROM to your sdcard with adb or mount USB storage and flash it/flash the boot image and you should be sorted.
Edit: Here's where I got the solution from btw (post #8):

got it. will try it asap.
I could not get the stock recovery via that link you provided. If there is another link to the stock I would appreciate it. I had to flash it wit cwm twice then reflash with twrc to get it to identify the sd card. i had tried the viper rom but my 4g and wifi doesnt work. Will try trickmod hopefully that works with no more issues

Hey thanks allot for your suggestions. I made some progress. It kinda worked. However I my wifi and data connections no good. I tried the 9.1 update and then tried the tweaks.
Do you know if it is possible to get stock kernel and stock rome to undo changes on device?
Hi there,
So I tried flashing my phone and unfortunately I seem to have wiped everything as I cannot even load anything from my local storage.
The phone does load in recovery mode and even fastboot.
How can I flash the phone without any ROMS currently on the phone?
Any help is appreciated!
Well here is what you need to do.
Download the latest fastboot ROM for OnePlus one from cyanogen os site from the support section.
Follow the fastbiot guide by Heisenberg to restore your device

There is no need in fastboot flashing the entire phone, as it seems that you have just wiped the entire phone from within recovery. Just download a rom of your choice (preferably the latest cm13 nightly) to your pc, then boot into recovery, attach phone via usb to pc, copy rom over to phone, flash rom, done.

Once booted into twrp recovery, go to "Mount" and make sure MTP is enabled.
If all else fails, follow this guide to fastboot flash your phone

So here's the thing. I have a Galaxy Note Edge SM-N915T (UVU1ANK3) I wanted to root it and am stuck in a state I cannot seem to get out of after searching all over the internet for. I got TWRP on the phone but that's about it, the interesting thing that I challenge anyone to help fix is how to get SuperSU on the internal SD from my computer since I cant get the phone to go past the Note Edge startup screen (I'll come back to this) and when I plug the phone into the computer it won't recognize it to pull up the storage. The other problem is in TWRP, it says there is no OS installed so I cannot do anything on the phone at all other than TWRP and the flashing screen. When I try to install ROM's I get an error code of fused 2> binary 1 not sure what all that stuff means.
In Summary:
1. No OS installed
2. SuperSU unable to put in internal SD
3. Fail to flash ROM's to phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Have you tried flashing via adb? And tell me whats the version of yor twrp btw. You might need to switch in cwm recovery though as that one worked for me in my gsmart phone

Okay I'll start from the important to the less.
1/3.No OS installed:
Make sure you are using the latest and the correct twrp for your device (TWRP 3.1.0) through odin
Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4092902
Or twrp recovery -or any other custom rom-
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4092901
And you can try installing a custom ROM through it
P.S you can't flash official tar or tar.md5 files through twrp
Or get into download mode and flash official frimware with odin
2. Rooting:You got 3 options
-moving it after flashing the firmware through odin -or a custom rom-
-puting the SD card in another phone to move the zip file to it
-using card reader to move through pc
works also if you couldn't port the right zip custom
Hi,
It has been a while since ive dealt with custom roms and im wondering if im forgetting something, what im experiencing is that no matter which linageOS rom i install i get stuck for hours on end on the linageOS booting screen. Ive been wondering if theres something like a verbose boot that could show me what is happening when booting. What ive been doing is Install the rom (wipve dev/cache) then install gapps (nano or full) then wipe dev/cahce and still getting the same result every single time.
Now i dont know how to proceed from here, my conclusion is either im doing something completely wrong or this device is not compatible with the 8013 roms however it says 801X all the files say 8013 after youve downloaded them. If another brain could shed some light on this that would be greatly appreciated
Greetings,
Jules
Firgured out my issue it was due to having TWRP 2.8 instead of 3.0, somehow TWRP cant flash it properly on version 3.
I'm havng the same problem, or was. For me too it has been awhile! I was able to boot finally by following these steps:
1. advanced wipe, everything but my ext sd card
2. install os rom zip
3. install gapps zip
4. reboot by selecting do NOT install supersu root or whatever it offered
Now though I'm in and can't download chrome though the play store so I'm about to reflash the stock rom gapps rather than the pico gapps.
just saw your reply - strange as i'm using 2.8 and can't figure out how to update my twrp as fastboot totally freezes
TWRP see twrp thread in development .
or twrp.me
Updates via zip or tar file .
Fastboot on Note 10 ??

@JJEgan when you say twrp updates via zip or tar, is this an automatic update? i also cannot seem to get past the lineage boot screen so not sure how to update it unless i can just drop it on the sd card.
No you update the file via Odin or TWRP .

Thanks. @JJEgan I was hoping you might be able to advise on my issue?
I have twrp 2.8 installed from when Blisspop was installed in 2015. It allowed me to wipe and proceed.
Using twrp i then installed Lineage lineage-14.1-20181103-TESTING-n8013, addonsu-14.1-arm-signed and open_gapps-arm-7.1-stock-20190403. These are the things I was able to make a guess that I needed based on reading here.
Problem: stuck at Lineage's logo boot screen
Mistakes I think I made from further reading:
- twrp 3.0 should be used to install ROM
- smaller gapps suite (nano) should be used
Obstacles:
- I can boot the 8013 to Odin Screen. I have Odin running on Windows 10. I have the driver for the 8013 installed in Windows that allowed me to drop the Rom and stuff onto the SD card. However, when I boot into Odin, nothing happens in Odin in Windows.
- Not sure what version of TWRP is really apporpriate
And overall, I'm just guessing about all of this. I understand "the answers are here" but there are millions of answers and I'm having problems deciphering which ones are correct.
Thank you so much. I would be most appreciative if you could point me to the correct twrp for the GT-N8013 and a guide to how to install it via Odin when TWRP is already present and if my other research is correct.
Either update through TWRP as twrp image or via Odin as TAR file .
<However, when I boot into Odin, nothing happens in Odin in Windows. >
You open Odin on windows put tar file in correct slot .
Boot to Download mode on tablet then connect usb cable
Odin press start.

Thank you angel aka @JJEgan! I will try this when I get home from work.
So today I flashed the official OOS rom downloaded from official OP website.
After I flashed it I tried to connect the phone to the PC to load magisk into it but the folder was empty and locked, meaning I cannot load anything into it.
To "help" the situation my TWRP custom recovery is gone. I only have acess the OP recovery I guess.
So I need help to change this bugged or corrupted ROM into a bugless one, but I have no clue on how to do it without internal storage acess and no custom recovery!
Thanks in advance

The only other ways i can think of are:
SDcard
Download Mode which is this case is fastboot, you could flash a new recovery\rom with that AFAIK and did.
Correct. I later found out that I could flash a new ROM by fastboot. I think it complety wiped my encripted partition and fixed it.
