Question Rooting OnePlus 9 (regular) without unlocking bootloader - OnePlus 9

Hello. It's been a while since I posted in xda. I was wondering if there is any way to root this phone without unlocking the bootloader?

Sorry to inform you that unfortunately, no.
It will not work as one click root apps died since android 7(using an exploit(, and the bootloader in android 7 or up will not allow booting a system with system partition or boot partition modified with files for rooting an any ways. Unless bootloader is unlocked. No exploits.

Follow the process on the linked page above If you don't already have the Android SDK and ADB installed, you'll need to do that, or eventually just install Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
Edit: apparently got ninja'd.
Edit2: ups, apparently I also suck at reading questions - so unless you're looking to unlock your bootloader, just follow robkellie11's link.

If you Backup your TA Partition, you can restore the DRM Keys and your bootloader status, there for you should be able to use your warranty IF you're on a stock rom while sending your phone for repairs etc.
You can backup your TA Partition by using THIS

Difference between rooting w/o unlocking bootloader and rooting with bootloader unloc

Can anyone explain me the differences between above mentioned things. If i just root my phone without unlocking tje the bootloader then can i perform all root tasks? And also, can I flash.?
Or I should unlock Bootloader to flash..
If your device is rooted without unlocking the bootloader, you can do everything that needs root. You can install root apps and use them.
But you can't flash anything because that requires the bootloader to be unlocked. However, there are rarely cases which allows you to install custom software without unlocking the bootloader. Some devices also don't require to be unlocked to flash files, mainly Samsung and MTK devices.
If you have more questions or concerns about that, feel free to ask me and I will try to answer your questions.
So i cannot flash other roms without unlocking the bootloader..
But can i install marshmallow.?? I guess that too comes under flashing..

what are the benefits of unlocking bootloader??

Hey guys I wanted to know the benefits of unlocking the bootloader on my Nexus 5x device.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.
Bootloader is like security software for your device, it'll prevent your device from loading a Software or code which aren't properly signed. So, by unlocking it, you can do vice-versa.. You can load all stuff that aren't allowed by your bootloader.
In this term and simple words, by unlock bootloader, you can enable root access and flashing various custom Software/firmware to your device.

Yes it does, lije I said before, bootloader is factory security software to prevent your device from running malicious codes and software.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to overwrite your stock recovery by custom recovery like TWRP, because stock recovery doesn't allow you to altering system partition.
I suggesting you to do more research before applying this process as it's can harm and possibly bricked your device.

How can I root my MIUI11 Redmi 8A dual without unlocking bootloader?

Hello all xda members,
I am not new in rooting. I was rooting my phone since 2014. When KitKat and lollipop introduced. After I purchased the new redmi 8A dual, it's impossible to root with kingoroot and with others. So, I googled how to root Android 10 miui11. I found there is an app called magisk. So I installed it. Now, I searched more, I found that I have to unlock my bootloader in order to install custom recovery. I really don't wanna unlock my bootloader and custom recovery. I just wanna root for temporarily because I need to convert some application to sys apps.
Now,
I found that people doing another magisk way to root and is called 'patching boot image', . I patched my boot image and download the platform tool. Now, I am completely puzzled because I don't know what to do next! Some are saying I have unlock bootloader and some are rooting without unlocking bootloader.
If by patching boot image root is possible without bootloader then could you please write the steps! I am completely noob in magisk line.
Or,
Is there any way to root MIUI11 without unlocking bootloader? I really don't wanna loss my data.
Thanks for reading!

Your only chance of rooting without unlocking bootloader is to find a universal rooting app or PC program that has an exploit that works on your device. But, I doubt that there is an app or PC program that can root your device, those stopped working on devices with android versions newer than Marshmallow.
