On my Google Pixel 4a, I'd like to clear the contact suggestions on the Android Share screen. I haven't used this contact for 4 months and they still show up as first suggestion everytime I share something. I think this is a fairly important missing function, we should be able to long press to remove someone.
This attached screen sometimes comes up first (Google Podcasts, Google Files, photos from WhatsApp/Signal), if not when you click 'other' or 'more' (Google Photos, Spotify & Netflix).
I've tried clearing cache for WhatsApp, AndroidSharedLibrary, Google Photos. I've deleted the contact.
Does anyone know how to clear this?

Hi TIA for helping.
issues need help with
1) how do i play music movies? on the ios itunes handle everything. i searched and most mfg has their own skinned player, but naked android??? cant figure it out.
2) how do i delete photos from "gallery" autobackup album?
3) is there a app to import profile pics to contacts from G+ (even if they are not in your circle). I had luck with a FB importer called sync.me
4) whats a good flash light app that doesnt require launching the app to activate. ie: activate with 3taps of the volume key.
5) can some explain to me hangouts. someone said its like imessage but i dont get it yet. imessage was based on phone# or email. hangouts if i am understanding is tied to your circles (of which i have 0). please correct me if i have it wrong.
6) is there a way to see notifications on the lock screen with a swipe down. (i have a pin enabled). - i dont like unlocking to see the notifications.
1) Google play music or any music player you get on the play store will easily play any music. For Android, there is no itunes (duh) , so either download music and have it on googles cloud services, or you can drag and drop the mp3 files into your phone.
2) Well if these photos are from your google account/gmail , heres what you can do first go to settings -> Google -> under accounts select the gmail -> uncheck Google Photos or Google+ photos. Then from your homescreen, hit the app drawer, press and hold gallery, drag it to the top where it says app info. Then press clear all data and clear all cache (this doesnt delete any photos, so it wont cause any harm). By doing this you won't have the auto synced photos anymore.
4) theres plent of flashlight apps that all do the same. just search up flashlight on playstore and the first few results are your best bets.

1) Google Play music comes with your phone and its awesome. You can use it as a subscription for unlimited streaming or upload your own music and stream it (or DL onto the device).
2) Go to settings>apps>all>gallery>delete cache and app data (you'll also want to go to settings>accounts>google account>uncheck the photo account stuff from there.
3)Unsure, try going to G+ app and having it sync contacts
4)I use smart tools...it has a bunch of tools in it and also includes a flashlight "widget". To add a widget, go to your app drawer, press widgets at the top and drag and drop the widget onto your home screen.
5) Hangouts is just a central location or Google hangouts and SMS. You can hangout with your friends if they also have hangouts or you can SMS them normally.
6) I don't think you can swipe down when you have a PIN (defeats the purpose of the pin). Try Dashclock in the app store. It has some cool extensions and might be able to help.
Let us know if you need any more help!
Thanks everyone.

Does anybody know if and, or how it is possible to remove or hide my "backed up" photos on G+. I would like them not to be seen or visible to online viewing but not deleted from my personal viewing. I've tried the new archiving feature and it worked for all my photos in the Google photos app but my pictures still appear online in the "albums archive on G+. I'd really appreciate the help. Thank you... Keith G
Anyone else having issues deleting photos from the camera app? You used to be able to just swipe them upward to get rid of them, but that no longer works. There is a trash can button, but when you click that, it brings up a pop up that says:
"Remove from Google account and synced devices?"
This happens with all photos, even ones that are already synced. This is neither what I want it to do. I want to simply delete the photos from my device, whether they are synced yet or not. I don't want to do anything to the synced photos. This is how my Pixel used to work.
I'd also like the swipe to delete to come back.
Any ideas?

Try to remove your account and add it up again... could be some sort of a bug...
Doing some research, it seems that the little photo preview thing is now no longer just a link to a basic Gallery app, but rather it's now directly integrated with Photos, which might be the issue...
Not sure how I feel about this...
1. Even if this is the new standard, it's tedious! You have to press the trash can and then confirm deletion again. This is really slow.
2. Swiping to delete is so much quicker than tapping an icon.
I want to advice this 2 problem, with my mi note 10, already rised into this threads:

Google photo recognize as 0.7megapixel (960x480) photo taken with main camera, and it will backup photos with such this low resolution.
Amazon photos isn't simply able to complete a backup.
Really bad situation here....
I've already triggered mi support, what we can do?
No problem with Google Photos from my Note 10.
Smae identical problem about Google photo
No problem for me, Google Photos backup 27MP and 108MP photos without any issues

Yeah, no problem here either. All photos backed up in full size.
Some of my photos are backed up but others are flagged as 0.7 Mpixels. It's not related to our phone because I found the issue on Mi9T/9T Pro forums. It seems that moving the photos from one folder and back again to the original fixes the issue.
Same problem
Some photos back up fine, but some show erroneously as 0.7Mpix and don’t back up to Google photos. Those ones also erroneously show no GPS location.
Same problem. To correct it I have to clear all the data of Google Photos app and delete low res duplicates. It is really annoying
There is a workaround it (better than clearing the google photos)
the methods are:
1. Open the built-in Photo App. Create an album(ex. G-Backup Album) inside the built-in photo App. This will create a folder with the same name as the album.
2. Select all you photos and click "Add to" button below. Then select the "G-Backup Album" album and click on "Move" option. After this, all photos will be moved to "G-Backup Album" Album.
3. Open Google Photo App, add "G-Backup Album" folder to the list of backup folders in the Setting. Then you will see that all photos are being uploaded normally and the size are shown correctly.
Makesure u dont open the Google Photo apps.. before you do this methods
Hi Wing_Zero85 in my case something similar happens to my "mi note 10".
Neither the amazon photos app nor google photos automatically upload the photos to the cloud.
I have activated all the permissions, I have tried many things and nothing, they do not automatically upload photos to the cloud.
With google photos it doesn't bother me too much, but with amazon photos it does bother me.
For amazon photos to upload photos to the cloud, I have to manually open the app, because it doesn't automatically.
For the other apps, there are no problems, whatsapp, telegram ... they work well in the background, notifications arrive well .....
But what happens with the amazon photos app is very annoying and frustrating.
Edit: Solved. If anyone's in the same situation, what worked for me is searching for .thumbnail folders (make sure "show hidden files" or similar is enabled in your file browser), and deleting their content. Google photos will then recreate the thumbnails when you next open it.
Hello friends.
Ever since a few days, I've been having the strangest of problems with my pixel 4xl under android 10:
Basically, the thumbnails or previews of my pictures do not match the picture itself.
For example, if I want to send an image to a whatsapp contact, or attach one to an email I'm composing or whatever, the preview or thumbnail that I'm shown is that of a much older and long deleted image. Pressing the miniature instantly shows me the correct picture, but if I press the back button, I'm again presented with something that had nothing to do with that particular photo.
Hope this makes sense.
This happens both in the Google photos app and third party apps such as whatsapp.
The only step I can think of doing to correct it is deleting storage and cache of my Media Storage, but that didn't help.
Can anyone shed some light on the matter?
Best regards!
