Bluetooth In-Band Ringtones? - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

Hi all,
Please can an 8T user confirm if the stock OxygenOS supports Bluetooth in-band ringtones?
IOW, when you receive an incoming call, does whatever ringtone you set on the phone also play in the Bluetooth headset, or does the headset just play it's own sound?
I'm thinking of buying this phone

It does on my phone at least.

Awesome! Thanks for answering my question.
This is an essential feature for me as I use Tasker to announce the name of the caller in my Bluetooth headset, so I know who is calling me at work without taking my phone out of my pocket.
Caller name announcer apps won't work over Bluetooth on phones/headsets that don't support in-band ringtones.
My last phone was a Xiaomi - this feature seems to be disabled in Xiaomi phones for some reason.
Gonna purchase an 8T today

[Q] Transfering call from bluetooth speakers to phone by tasker, how?

How do I transfer a call from bluetooth speakers to the phone with tasker? Cant find any parameter for tat action :/
Why: When in car I want the calls to go through bluetooth handsfree system, but if its a private call and I have company in the car I would like to be able to pick my phone up from the dock and then the call should be transfered to the phone automaticlt even thou the bluetooth still is connected.
How do I do this?
Thanks in advance
/Max
The way I would do it is have a script to turn off bluetooth when there is an incoming call and it is removed from the dock (by the way what do you mean by dock?) and then re-enabling it when the call ends.
Good thought, but its like walking around the problem. Ill try if my car likes me to switch on and off BT or if it will refuse to reconnect.
Dont need a script for it, tasker have defaults to just turn of the BT in this case. But it would be a hell lot easier if I could just re route the sound since there are buttons for it on the darn phone
A dock... the holder with included charger for my mobile in the car.

On htc phones if you answer from the bluetooth the call will take place there but if you will answer from the ohone the call will be directed on the phonespeaker
I also have this problem but in opposite way. I want that when my phone has the autoanswer enabled the call to remain on the bluetooth which is not happenning and when i am riding the motorcycle is difficult to answer from the bluetooth device

Is Call Recording over Bluetooth possible?

Hi,
Prior to purchase my next phone, I really need Bluetooth Call Recording (always on). It is legal here (Canada).
I use a Jabra headset.
Presently, the Google Nexus 5 does not allow such.
Samsung S3-4-5 ???
Thanks !!!

No Calls From Phone to Watch?

I swear there was a thread for this before. My apologies if so, I DID search for it.
Anyway, I used to be able to answer calls on my watch from my phone. Now I only get the option to decline the call. Did anyone find a fix for this? I don't use it much, but I needed it today. It would be nice if all of the functions of this watch worked...
If you are connected BT and a call comes in, you will only be able to answer it of you have phone calls enabled in the BT setting for the watch. Doing so will not let you take calls on a BT headset though as the watch acts as the headset.

Is this new since Tizen 3? I used to be able to take calls on the watch without setting anything up differently (just pair it and done), and my phone would decide the preferred device. Meaning, if I was in my car, my car would ring and I could answer on it. If this is the case now, that's kind of a big step backwards!

Cannot answer WhatsApp calls using Bluetooth earbuds

With Android, is it possible to answer WhatsApp voice calls using bluetooth earbuds or headsets?
I have tried various bluetooth earbuds and headsets that include a mic and with several Android phones such as Xiaomi Mi A2 and a OnePlus 8T and nothing seems to work.
I can answer normal cellular voice calls using these devices with no issue. Just WhatsApp is the problem. It's frustration because most of my calls are via WhatsApp these days. I have to get the phone out of my pocket or bag and hit the answer button. It's a pain and inconvenient.
My friend with an iPhone does not have this problem using Apple earbuds.
Is this a limitation of WhatsApp?
I have some Jabra 85t earbuds paired with a OnePlus 8T - both powerful and modern hardware and yet this stupid simple software issue seems to let me down
You might also experience issues with WhatsApp calls if you use a battery saver or Bluetooth connection. If your battery saver or Bluetooth is enabled, please disable them and install the FM Whatsapp APK if you do not install it yet in your mobile. Because FM Whatsapp is the modified verison of official whatsapp which somes a lot of features which you must like them.
Thanks for your reply.
Firstly, as mentioned these are wireless devices that use Bluetooth so disabling a fundamental component is definitely not going to help this issue.
Secondly, asking people to install an app from an unknown source is very dangerous. Personal chats can contain sensitive information. I definitely will not be installing FM WhatsApp. Who knows what organizations the author is linked to.
Just an update that I changed my phone to Google Pixel 6 and the Jabra earbuds work with WhatsApp nicely, I can answer calls with one button press just like regular cell calls.
My conclusion is that there is something in the OnePlus 8T that prevents this.

It is recommended to troubleshoot such issues by checking your network connection, updating the app to the latest version, and ensuring that you have sufficient internet bandwidth to make the call.

Hearing Aids: making calls

Hi,
anybody outhere with hearing aids who can make calls with their hearing aids as audio output and a working microphone?
If so, could you please state what
- hearing aids
- phone
- OS version
- and if you had to do something else (install an app, add a setting, ...)
?
Thanks!
I recently got myself a OnePlus 9 Pro and after pairing my Starkey HAs the phone outputs all audio to the HAs w/o trouble, even in a call -- but there's no microphone, hence in a call I hear the other party but they cannot hear me.
While the HAs are recognized as such, Accessibilty does not offer a setting for HA compatibilty, nor is there a way to pick the audio input device or at least check/modify the microphone volume.
All info I can find seems outdated or misses the point entirely (using HAs to make a call).
To answer my own question: w/ OOS 13.1 sound is routed directly to my hearing aids and one of the phone's built-in microphones picks up my voice (need to experiment further to find out how to hold the phone to get the best quality).
I currently try to figure out if it still works that way if I flash LOS ...
