Question Charging animation problem - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hy i have updated my phone to miui 12.5.1 but why when charging the decimal percent is gone? I just bought this phone a week ago but sometimes when charging it's appear often not always but after i updated it doesnt show problem

Xiaomi updates are usually problematic, you will soon get used to that.

For me the decimal percent only appears if i start charging when the phone has less than 10% battery.
Maybe thats the problem? It might limit the amount of caracters to 3, so 3,55% shows up, but 13,55% does not.

[Q] jb / lots of battery notifications

I noticed while charging I get that huge half transparent battery notification indicating the battery level a lot, and inconsistently.
( the notification you see when you plug in the charger )
Tbh I'm not sure if this happened before the jb update. I did see it before but never tried to time it or check percentage levels and I don't remember how close they were to each other.
I got it when it hit 21%, 63% and then another at 68% then the next one there were a few others in there but these notifications were not based on 'round' numbers for battery level (eg 10, 25, 50%, etc). And they sometimes appeared within a few minutes of each other
I tried wiggling the cord around to see if it was a bad connection but I can't trigger it myself. I'm wondering if the battery is broken
Is this normal?
I'm 100% charged and still getting these popups while plugged in.
9:31pm
At first I thought my charger was broken so I also played around with it a bit. But prior to the JB update I didn't have any of these random battery notifications popping up, so Im pretty sure its just JB
Same here. I notice it since JB update.
Same here. I wonder if what's happening is that the tablet switches to battery once it's full, drains it a bit, switches back to charger and alerts when the battery gets full again.
On ICS I was seeing the battery oscillate between about 97% and 100% while on the charger.
[UPDATE: And it's *not* happening at the moment using a different (also Asus) charger...]

[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Battery Life Extremely Low. How to Find Cause?

I mistakenly posted this in the wrong forum at first, so here it goes again:
I bought this Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-5110) about a year ago, it runs the original firmware with the recent Samsung update to 4.2.2.
Lately the battery life has become very short. This was not a gradual change, but something that seemingly happened over night. I charge the device with a travel adapter that claims to output up to 1 A. The battery monitor shows that charging works as expected and the device charges to 100 % .
In use the battery shows 100 % for a while, but after about 20 to 30 mins jumps to 4 % , giving me the low batter warning. I am travelling and the only change I can think of is, that mains power here in Canada is 110 V instead of the 220 V back home in Europe, not that I expect that to be a problem.
I don't notice the device getting warmer than usual, so I don't believe, that the battery really charges to 100 %. Is there anything on the software side I can do to investigate this further?
Thanks for any advice!
EDIT: I just noticed, it's actually not the battery, that is dying. It is a error in the measurement. The battery life is normal, however the charge measurement shows nonsensical behavior: It goes to below 10 % in less than half an hour and then goes back to full, repeating this in cycles, like a sawtooth wave. So I suspect either a hardware fault in the measurement circuit or a software problem.
Here's a screenshot of what the battery info looks like, mind you the device has not been on the charger the entire time:

i think the problem is with the charger
drain the battery of your tab completely and then charge it fully upto 100 % with stock original charger and see if you notice any difference

What makes you say that? I've been using that charger instead of the Samsung charger at home for a long while now.
For me it may be the hardware issue, because software doesn't consume battery in the background so rapidly.
#If you are not sure try this options
For Hardware issues:
*Make sure your charger is working properly (Completely drain your battery and then connect your charger and charge for few half n hour and then reboot your phone and check your battery status and use your tab normally for few minutes and keep an eye on the battery consumptions)
If your battery is gradually decreasing no fault to your charger.
If your charger doesn't charge then its the time to either change or repair your charger.
For Software issues:
"GO TO BATTERY SECTION IN SETTINGS AND CHECK WHICH APPLICATION REDUCES YOUR BATTERY OVERNIGHT RUNNING ITS SERVICES IN THE BACKGROUNG AND JUST DELETE IT"
*After using your tab normally go to SETTINGS>APLLICATION MANAGER> and then RUNNING SERVICES.
If you find unnecessary services running in background NY an app which is not required just uninstall those app.
*Try to check your Sync, WiFi, GPS etc. settings to ensure that any app is consuming continuous services and draining your battery.
*Remove recently installed app which are not necessary.
Hope they help.
Thanks so far, I just updated my original post to describe the problem more precisely.

I had this exact problem, down to the sawtooth battery status profile, tablet model and android version, and fixed it with the following procedure:
After a normal boot, press and hold the power button continuously.
The tablet will shutdown and reboot repeatedly.
Hold the button down for at least 4 complete shutdown/restart cycles, never releasing the button.
After that treatment the battery status shows a nice, normal discharge curve, starting from whatever random place the sawtooth pattern left you at. Run the tablet until it powers down by itself, and then recharge it.
The ugly sawtooth battery status first appeared on the tablet after running an intensely power-hungry application (the battery got hot after 20 or so minutes of running). After that, the discharge rate seemed to have a flipped sign, where if normal discharge rate per minute was positive, the altered, aberrant discharge rate was negative. CoPilot was the offending software; however, that may be a post hoc ergo propter hoc logic error on my part.
The messed-up discharge rate would prematurely terminate charging if the table was on, so the only way to get a full charge was to turn the tablet off and attach the charger.

Change Mate 9 battery to a new one - 2 months later charging battery inconsistent?

I did a thread earlier whereby I installed a replacement battery in my Mate-9 as the original had started to swell. I did it myself.
Today I notice that the recharging of the battery has become inconsistent, although I have managed for 2 months or more already with replacement battery. Sometimes it charges normally from 3-100% in 90 minutes, other times it won't charge at all. Sometimes it charges faster when turned off, other times it won't charge turned off. A full charge runs as normal for me up to 2 days usage. I cannot determine any pattern as to when it will charge or not charge. It seemed to happen after a recent Huawei system update. I'm using build 9.1.0.252 on model MHA-L29.
** Would a factory reset help at all, or is changing the battery the cause of this does anyone think - or maybe something else I could do?
Thanks.
This seems to have been Huawei system related for me. The poor battery recharging happened after a Huawei system update. Now Huawei has updated my system again to 9.1.0.252 (C636E7R1P8patch04) and the recharging procedure is normal again.

Slow Charging after MIUI 12 Update

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday, I recieved MIUI 12 Update on my Poco X2 128 GB Variant (India/Global Rom). After updating , the charging time has drastically increased. On MIUI 11 Global rom, It took around 70-75 minutes to charge 0-100%. Now it is taking more than 120 minutes for the same. Although, It is showing fast charging symbol, but not as fast as it used to be on MIUI 11. I'm using the stock charger & cable which came with the phone. Please let me know if :
- Is anyone else facing or faced the same issue ? If yes, then is it going to fix with time or did you find any way to fix it ?
- If I flash official MIUI 11 via fastboot, does it bring back fast charging again ? Does it violates the warranty terms ?
Thanks in Advance
You should try battery calibration. It mostly fixes the software side bugs which relate to charging.
Here are the steps:
1. Charge your phone to 100% without interruption.
2. Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off (never connect the charger).
3. Turn your phone on a few times to confirm its actually at 0% charge and quickly turnsoff.
4. Plug your phone into the charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen indicator says 100%.
5. Turn on the phone and see that the phone is at 100%, keep the charger connected as long as is needed to reach 100%.
See if this fixes the issue.

Okay, Let me try this. I will let you know if it works or it doesn't.
Thanks for the reply.
Keep phone on a cold surface with no cover and charge again. Warm poco charges slowly.
i found problem charging slow
after update miui 12 i found charging speed slow than usual . i found when screen off then charging speed will speed like normally but when screen on charging speed will decrease about 30-40% from normally speed . i cant find how to disable it . anyone have solution?
Hey there,
I tried all you suggested, but it didn't helped. Then I made a factory reset. Charging speed is better after reset, but it's not as fast as on MIUI11.
It is taking approximately 85-90 minues to charge 0-100. But charging while switch off mode is unaffected. I can fully charge phone in 66 minues.

Yes, warm phone charges slowly, but my phone is at 25 degree C temp. Warm environment is not an issue as well in my case.

It's normal to charge a little slower while screen on. It's not a problem.

Maybe that's another issue in MIUI 12 while charging.
I'm waiting for my bootloader to unlock. Going to try PE or back to stock MIUI11.
Hi, im facing the same issue on my redmi k20 pro since updating with MIUI 12 security patch. the charging speed has decreased drastically, even while showing the fast charging symbol. So much that at times the charge percentage starts decreasing. Has anyone found a fix for it yet?
I am also facing the same issue on my Poco F1. It used to charge to 100% in less than two hours. Now after updating to MiUI 12, it takes more than 4 hours to reach 100. The difference is day and night and I am sure there is something wrong with the update.

Same issue with my Pocof1.
After updating to Miui12, it takes 4 hours to reach 100%.
If only I don't have several files here on my phone, I like to revert back to Miui11. Sigh. So hassle. Waiting for next update and hoping it will be fixed.
Same problem on my Mi11, supposed to be 45mins, but now 90mins with phone on and screen off.
Digging up this old thread.
I updated my A3 to MIUI 12 (android 11) 2 days ago and I can only have slow charging since then.
I use OEM wall adapter and cable, the same cable and adapter worked fine in MIUI 11 (android 10).
Do anyone has a clue to solve this issue?
