Hello,
I have a weird issue with Facebook Messenger while using custom roms on my 8T where I'm unable to send photos. I can take a photo, but Messenger hangs for a couple of seconds before I get a message saying "the camera is not working at the moment". Taking videos works, and taking photos with Snapchat and GCam also works flawlessly. Sending photos from the device also works.
I have tested this with OOS, both with and without locked bootloader, and Messenger works flawlessly. The ROMs I've tested are AICP, Derpfest, HavocOS and PixelExtended, they all have the same issue.
I have tested the latest Messenger version, and also the latest Messenger beta version.
Is it possible that this might be an Slot A / Slot B issue?
After reinstalling AICP 1708 I got it working. Tried reinstalling DerpFest afterwards and the issue returned. I'm now back on AICP and everything is working flawlessly. Maybe some sort of blob incompatibility issue?

I was using the CM10 Codename Lungo rom until now and I just flashed the new CM11 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47409643&postcount=2) hoping to fix a problem with whatsapp I had for several weeks now. Every time I watch a video or sometimes even a photo, whatsapp crashes after viewing when its supposed to go back to the conversation. It's really annoying and I think it started when fb took over whatsapp...
CM11 works like a charm from what I can say already but the bug is still there.
A friend of mine is using CM11 on his device aswell, I guess it's a DesireHD or something and he has the same issue.
Did anyone encounter the same problem or possibly has a fix for this?

It's a Whatsapp problem.
Hey, I’m noticed with the custom roms I’ve used (Resurrection Remix and Dirty Unicorns). Thad my snapchats keeps crashing, mostly the first time I open it and take a photo than boom crash. I does not seems like big a deal but it’s pretty annoying, since I therefore lose the first photo I took witch in most cases is something or special that happened..
Does anyone ells faces this problem? Is there a great rom out there where it might not crash?
P.s, I already tried clearing cache on the app.

Yes I have exactly the same problem on Lg G3. I have custom rom crdroid. I was going to flash Resurrection remix just because snapchat keeps crashing on this rom. I use snapchat very often so this is a big issue for me. Snapchat just crashes when I'm uploading a photo or editing it, or even just watching others' stories. I thought it was a problem only crdroid, but you are telling me it is an issue also on RR. I have also tried clearing cache , data and reinstalling several times even older versions give this issue but not as often, but it still is very annoying.
Please someone look into this matter and resolve the issue. I have searched alot to find the solution, but can't find any.

Same here on OnePlus One, AEX, Android 7.1.2 - but also on every other Nougat Custom Rom. Official on Op3 works
Actually because of the chipset on my phone, A SC 8830 1.2 GHz quadcore SoC, Snapchat lags but doesnt crash at all. Im running slim LP 5.1.1, Also on other roms based on Kitkat and LP It never crashed.
I'm running the latest build of DarkRom but this problem's been happening on earlierbuilds/other ROMs prior. After a while, the camera stops connecting, I get error messages saying it can't connect to the camera. This affects every app that uses the camera, such as Snapchat, Instagram, etc. A reboot fixes this until it stops working again and I get the same errors. Is there any fix to this?
If the issue is with OMX.qcom.video.encoder.avc codec then the most likely reason for this happening is the outdated widevine blobs.
Try flashing this should fix the problem.

I am fairly new to this so please tell me when I miss some information and I will try to deliver as fast as possible.
I downloaded and installed this inofficial Lineageos 17.1 by ripee and joshuadoes (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...rofltexx-lineageos-17-1.4063781/post-84238527). It all worked and I would be VERY happy. Unfortunately though, the dialer app, even though it has access to the microphone, does not even request using it (says it has never used it). In calls, my voice is not transmitted. I still hear the voice of the other person though.
Can anyone help me? Is there a way to install another dialer app as the primary app? I tried TrueCaller with no luck. I tried rebooting, and re-installing the custom rom and testing it without anything else installed. It does not work. Calling through WhatsApp and Signal, for example, works. Also the mic is working for videos etc.
Hope you can help me out, and thanks in advance for any ideas. I really like the LineageOS 17.1 experience but not being able to do voice calls is a dealbreaker for me
I have a similar issue. however I can't hear audio during calls as well as the app not accessing the microphone. I have a Samsung A11 and I am using the a GSI LineageOS build from Andy Yan. I have tried with LineageOS 17 and 18.
Has someone been able to activate/install PiP mode for Nougat 7.x roms? All I want is for my Facebook Messenger app to display my floating videocall window. I've searched for days and tried hidden dev options, different apps on Google Play and I have not found any solution yet. I even tried to see if it was possible to install an API Level 26 in Nougat which is Level 24 but still keeping the Nougat OS on top.
It's litterally the ONLY thing that I need. I've tried so many different roms out there. I'm just discouraged. All roms above 7.0 have MAJOR and I say it, MAJOR camera issues and I NEED my camera to work and I NEED my bluetooth headsets to work. All 7.1.x, Oreo, Pie, Q and R roms have all failed the camera test. I even tried Microsoft Teams and the problem is persistant, black camera and my partner cannot see me.
Right now, the issue I have is that I cannot do anything else on my phone if I am on a webcam call since when I check something else, my app dissapears and my partner does not see me at all until I get back in the app in full screen.
Is there anyone that can help me in trying to find a solution. My phone is a G920W8 - Canadian Flat Model - zerofltecan. I installed SamStock Rom since it's the most stable I can install which does not bug or crash at other places. All v7.0 roms have the exact same issue, NO FLOATING video call window.
