Yes Huawei Homor 30

Tap the square button in Navigation bar, find your app, lock it.
Settings - Wireless & networks - Mobile data - Networked apps, check both 'Mobile data' and 'WLAN' for your app.
Settings - Wireless & networks - Mobile data, Data saver = Off.
Settings - Wireless & networks - Mobile network - Advanced, enable 'Mobile data always on'.
Settings - Battery, disable both 'Power saving mode' and 'Ultra Power saving mode'
Settings - Battery - More battery settings, enable both 'Keep WLAN on when sleeping' and 'Keep mobile data on when sleeping'.

If all these above do not help yet, it must be caused by the FCM on your device doesn't work as your Honor 30 lacks Google Services Framework.

Thank

Slow notifcations during sleep ?

It seem push notification does not work well with Mate 7... for instance... whatsapp web.. in order for it to read messages at all I need to push the power button constantly to wake it up from sleep..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/help/push-notification-data-screen-off-t2985489
I don't know if this has been solved but their is a option on mate 7 which allows you to toggle between notification push and how you handle it when screen is off.
Go into protected apps and enable it and make sure notification manager is set to allow.
i dont see notification manager in protected app.
it's in settings.
Under "privacy & security" you'll see Notification manager and Protected Apps.
From main settings i have only security option no privacy&security.Mine mate 7 is 09-european version.
I'd suggest taking a look at your settings again.
Under "Privacy & Security" section you have:
- Location Access
- Do not disturb
- Notification Manager
- Protected Apps
- Security
- Fingerprint ID
- Backup & Reset
Yes i was in restricted and notification options but there is no option to set notification manager to allow, notify or restrict options.Notification manager is not on the list of apps for which you can set this 3 options or notification manager is with some other name in the main list.

Enable mobile data limit on Huawei P8

To enable the mobile data limit:
Install Activity Launcher from Play Store
Select 'All Activities' from the drop down box at the top.
Scroll down to 'Settings'.
Edit 'Data usage' to your needs.
You can also create a shortcut on your homescreen by long pressing 'Data usage'.
Hi all,
It doesn't work anymore.
Data usage doesn't appear in the list.
Are there other solutions ?

S6 Weather Widget

I was using the S4 mini ( Android 4.2.2) before I switched to S6 (Android 5.0.2).
On the old device the stock weather widget can detect my location without GPS on. I suppose it uses data from ISP via mobile radio or wifi.
However it is not the same for S6. The stock weather widget required "Location" to be turned on in order to detect my location. When I enabled "Location", the GPS was automatically turned on. I then set the "Locating method" to "Wifi and mobile networks". I thought I could disable GPS whilst still being able to detect my location. Sadly turning off GPS would also disable "Location" and the detection failed.
Is there a way for the S6 widget to act in a way as my old device?
I now understand what has happened. The quick setting button after dragging down the notification bar is a "Location" button and not a "GPS" button. This is extremely inconvenient and causing confusion !!
On 4.2.2 I can select coarse location detection via mobile and wifi and if I need more precise detection I just toggle the GPS button.
On 5.0.2 I have to re-enter the "location" setting menu and re-select "location detection" option to deploy GPS.
Why is the Lollipop so user unfriendly? I lost not only the quick launch buttons on the lockscreen but also a GPS button, sigh.

It's actually an attempt to make it more user friendly. The majority of people using these phones become easily confused when given more options. At least that's what Google and Samsung seem to think...
If you're rooted, you can use a combination of the apps Tasker and Secure Settings to have the phone toggle between "mobile & wifi only" and "mobile & wifi & GPS" as needed.
If you're not rooted, there isn't really anything that can be done about it.

Compendium of all sneaky background reporting settings on Galaxy S7

Gents and ladies,
Tmobile SD820 S7 flat user here, and like everyone else, have the high android system battery drain issue I have been trying to hunt down. Till samsung and tmo release a fix, I thought it would be beneficial to create an exhaustive list of all the phone settings where sneaky reporting and syncing is going on. The more I look, the more I find these backdoors in android and starting to get very irritated with the whole android ecosystem. An average user should not have to mess with their phone this extensively to get it to perform adequately. Maybe there is something to what the apple nazis say about an ecosystem where they control high quality. Marshmellow was supposed to come with better battery life (as they promised with Lollipop as well).
Anyway, enough ranting. Here is my list, please feel free to add more and I will update the OP.
Google activity controls - Google now page, settings at the top, then Google account settings, then accounts and privacy, then google activity controls. Turn off location history and other activity controls that you find you don't need.
Diagnostics reporting to Google - Google now page, settings at the top, then Accounts and privacy, turn off "help improve google"
Diagnostics reporting to Samsung - Samsung settings - personal - privacy and safety - Report diagnostic info - Off
Turn off anonymous reporting in Language and input - Settings - language and input - text to speech, google text to speech settings, then settings and turn off anonymous reporting
Turn off other security reports - Settings - lock screen & security - other security - security reports
Turn off access to hardware by different apps - Settings - privacy and safety - app permissions. e.g., Why on earth does google keep need body sensor access?!
Turn off unwanted syncing - Go to settings - accounts and check every account including Samsung, Whatsapp etc. and turn off syncing.
Turn off Contacts searching for nearby places and invoking location - Settings - applications - contacts and turn off "search for nearby places"
Turn off background data usage for unwanted apps - Settings - data usage - go through every app that you don't want background data usage for, and turn off
Turn off unwanted notifications - settings - applications - notifications
Turn off pop-up notifications for applications - settings - notifications - advanced settings - disable pop-up
Turn off push notifications for messages app - settings - applications - messages - turn off push. This does not impact receiving SMS/MMS.
Turn off OK Google detection from everywhere except home screen. Google now page, settings at the top, then voice then "OK google detection"
Other tips I have tried but I am not sure have helped:
Disable google now on tap.
Optimize battery usage for as many apps as you desire.
Disable wifi scanning and nearby device scanning - settings - location - improve accuracy and turn off wifi and bluetooth scanning
Enabled wifi smart network switch
WiFi calling turned off
VOLTE turned off
I cannot live without / do not want to compromise on (so will optimize battery despite the following always on):
Google now with high accuracy location mode
AOD
VOLTE
BT always on
Screen brightness set to 75%
WiFi calling set to on

Honor v20 CHINA ROM - notifications and other problems

Anyone with china rom honor v20 that have problems with notifications?
i did this but sometimes i can´t receive notifications in some apps
"You have to take a number of measures in order to get notifications to work reliable:
1. Go to phone manager and set application in start apps on manual - and activate all switches
2. Type in "battery optimization" in settings and switch it off for the app
3. Open the app and then go to "recent apps" swipe the app down so a little lock appears above the app
4. Go to settings, then apps, then choose the app. Give all permissions and notifications
5. (Most important): go to settings - battery - further settings. Activate "always stay connected"
Notifications should work fine now. If not, uninstall the app, reinstall it and do steps 1 to 4 again.
BTW some expression I used may not be correct as I have set my phone language to German."
