Question Gmail and chat notification - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hi, had my x3 pro a week and now the Gmail and chat notification sounds aren't working, pop up works but no sound. eBay sound works. Anyone got any idea how to cure this? I've gone through all permission settings and even reset Gmail.

Well, done a factory reset last night, still got the problem, get occasional vibration alerts from ebay app but no sound and no vibration or sound alerts from Gmail but the notifications do appear in the bar and floating notifications work. Speakers work, boot sound works, media audio works.
Any idea? Is this a MIUI thing? Thinking about sending back to Amazon if i cant sort this soon.

So do you think it's a google problem and not a MIUI issue? Hopefully, it'll get patched soon. I'll wait a week and see what happens.

This problem gmail client Is white in Google play in review. Check update or change email client. Hi jfk_jfk

Thanks, swapped over to the Outlook client until Google sort it out.

Please, outlook works fine.

I have a Poco X3 Pro phone that is not rooted and the bootloader is locked
For several days now, when I receive an email, its Gmail app does not play a notification sound
3 Gmail accounts and 2 Yahoo accounts have been added and none of them will play notifications
I did not make any adjustments to the settings
He had no problem before.
I have the same problem
Is this the only problem with this phone?
Do I have to wait for the Gmail update?

2chem20 - yes check update gmail aplication or use outlook email client.

Yeah, I've installed outlook client and it works fine, I'll keep using that until Google Gmail gets updated

Microsoft Outlook - Apps on Google Play
Manage your email & calendars on Outlook & collaborate with anyone, anywhere
play.google.com
Does it support Gmail and Yahoo!?

still issue persist or i am the only one with that problem?

[Q] Gmail Accounts Lag

Greetings All,
I recently purchased my Nexus S. I have multiple google & google hosted email accounts.
Today, I noticed a lag on the gmail app accounts page.
I was checking to see if I had new mail in my accounts and it took a few seconds for the totals to load on the page that displays all your accounts and their new mail totals.
Am I just being paranoid?

Is this in the Gmail app, or the Email app?
Do you have background data syncing enabled? Mobile data enabled? WiFi sleep policy to "never"?
Could you be more specific in what you're expecting to happen and what's making you paranoid? It sounds to me like maybe the app wasn't syncing in the background until you woke up the phone and opened the app, forcing it to call the mothership and ask for a sync.
I've noticed some strange occurrences with the Gmail app myself. The most common occurrence is that I archive new emails and then find that the app still claims I have unread messages which it will not let me access. It just says at the top Inbox (XXX). Usually clearing data for gmail fixes it, but in some cases I have to uninstall gmail entirely and reinstall it to get it working.

I'm sure I've mentioned it elsewhere, but my only issue with the gmail app on the Nexus S is that outgoing messages sometimes get stuck in the outbox and the only way to get rid of them is to clear data and cache for the app.
Isn't the gmail app universal across android 2.x products? It's just a Market download. I don't notice my gmail problem with the one on my i9000.

I've had the same issue with the last three phones I've owned (mind you they've been in quick succession) so I don't think its a Nexus S specific issue. I had just hoped it would go away. However, I've also experienced the issue you speak of. Actually, there is one in my outbox now that I'm too lazy to deal with (its just a message with an apk I wanted to modify so I was emailing it to my comp to deal with).

[Q] Asus email widget

Anyone have one similar for gmail or know of a way to get this one to work with gmail?
It looks nice but I only use gmail and not an external mail...
Mine works just fine with gmail. I have two gmail accounts and an exchange work account on mine for which all are working great together.

The TF has one already...At least mine does.
It looks nice but i can't use it. 0 mails? You've gotta be kidding XD
The email icon that shows unread count?
Mine al was shows 0 and when I click on it asks me to setup email but I use the gmail email app....
The email widget had a bug. It was fixed in firmware update1. If you have that firmware and it's still not working then just remove the widget from the homescreen, reboot, and re-add the widget.
I think the OP means "Gmail" app (not gmail account). It only works on the "email" app, with your "gmail account".
And yes, it doesn't work for the "Gmail" app. It would be great if it works on the "Gmail" app as it has push notification (not delayed like the "email app"). I really like this widget, so I am forced to use the "email" app instead. I set up my gmail account on the "email" app for this to work.
I also wish that this works on the "gMail" app.
I updated and removed/readded and still doesn't show gmail count... do I have to setup gmail in the email setup or can it be just through the gmail app?

It has to be with the "email" app.
Boo---someone want to make an equivalent one for gmail?
Is there a plus to the email app for gmail over the gmail app?
there is already one for gmail?
at least it comes with my tf.....look your widget screen..the gmail widget is just next to the email widget..
Failing that, get an app free from the market called 'Elixir'. It has that as a widget now, along with tons of others.

Need this too: https://market.android.com/details?id=bt.android.elixir.addon.personal

mine said that for days then i restarted it, and it has worked perfect after that with 3 accounts. 1 gmail, 1 yahoo, 1 military account.
I just signed in with my gmail information into the Asus widget and it works fine for me. Then I turned off the Gmail notification in the Gmail App so I only get 1 notification from the Asus Email widget everytime I get new mail.

I think he means the small one that is just a new mail indicator.
You can set up GMail as an exchange account from within the device and set the GMail account in the GMail application not to sync and to sync with GMail through the EMail program instead.
Google setup up GMail as an Exchange account.

All nice workarounds, but it kind of defeats the purpose of a seperate and pre-installed gmail-app. I find that the gmail app works better then the stock @-app so the Asus widget would be extremely cool to display my number of new emails and with a click get me to the gmail-app...
On my Nexus, I have a really nice Gmail Unread Count widget. One for my primary account, same widget with a different colour signifies my secondary account.
Easy. Tapping either opens the correct account.
Simples.
Unfortunately, it doesn't currently work for Honeycomb. But it should be really easy to do... :/
Aside from elixir, there aren't any other Widgets that do this that I can see.. I left a honeycomb compatibility request on the review page for gmail unread count, but that was a few weeks ago and there's been no movement
**EDIT** Have emailed the developer on the off chance.. also, tried elixir and the unread count widget doesn't seem to work despite there being unread emails in my inbox..

Gmail and Messaging Smart Extras not syncing

I've noticed that the Gmail app on the SW2 doesn't seem to update all the time. I've currently only got 5 messages in there, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it - previously it was only showing 1 email.
Similar story with Messaging.
So my questions are - is there a way to force an update/push to the watch?
At this time, Gmail Smart Extra won't handle multi mail accounts even it appears to.
If it's your case, just select a single account, you'll see it syncs just fine
Then, you'll have to do a "trick" (forwarding or fetch other accounts won't work properly) to get all your other account's mails into this selected account (lemme know if you'd like me to walk you through this).
Also, if you have some sort of energy saving feature enabled on your phone, Gmail might not sync/push notifications to your SW2 as often as you wish/think...

I've got just the one Gmail account.
It's also not working for the messaging extension, either.

No reminders from Google Calendar

I was having problems with the stock calendar app not picking up my reminders from my Google Calendar. Instead, I just installed the regular Google Calendar app however for some reason I am not getting any notifications for reminders. The reminders are definitely in the calendar, and I am notified on my other devices, however it does not seem to work on my Honor 8. Is there a setting I need to tweak to allow this?
Thanks.
Hi,
Do you have any issues with any other apps not showing notifications?
Cheers

Everyting else seems to work fine.
Is there any solution? I have exactly the same problem.
Make sure you allow calendar app full access in settings. I don't use a Google calendar app on this device. But reminders in my Google account and pushed through as well as my regular Calendar app.
This was on Android 6 and now Android 7..
Side note I also have Google Calendar sync up in Google account settings.. Check your setting to see if there similar to my ones..

[solved] Missing the HTC Apps -which .apk store is trustworthy?

Hi,
I've buyed the 64GB Version direct at HTC for my wife, and she really like it (me, too) -but she gets not warm with the Google Apps for Mail and Contacts i.e.. As some store provide apks for download, which one is really trustworthy? I'm glad that we now get with Android One security updates in a short time for a longer period, and so I don't want to get maleware because I'm installing downloaded apks.
Best regards

...May you know how I get the LED blink if an Email is received? It is working for Whatsapp, but not for Emails -tried with GMail and Outlook Client. Pure Android is really different from the menues!
edit: reset Device to Factory defaults, set up as "New Device" instead of import settings from old one -not it is blinking if nw Emails arrive in Outlook....

In Gmail, go to settings and chose your account, then manage notifications, there you can chose blink light.
Thank you -it is working fine now. I surmised that it should blink, so I reset the mobile to factory defaults and set up as "New phone" instead of "restore from saved settings" via google backup and everything is now like expected.
