Note 9 AT&T Stuck On Oreo 8.10 - General Questions and Answers

Hello so I bought a note 9 on offer up and everything went well when trying to connect it to a different phone provider, but now I have discovered that I am not receiving Over air updates due to my phone not being connected to the AT&T service. Is there any way to update my phone to the latest software?

[Q] New Verizon Table with No Service

I have a quick question. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 LTE Verizon. I am not going to buy a data plan, I just wanted the upgraded hardware that comes with the LTE version. I tried updating the tablet (android operating system) and I get an error.
I am connected to Wifi. Do I need a contract to update my tablet? I have heard that verizon will unlock a tablet for you...not sure if that is true. Thanks for your help.

Gear S3 + Samsung Pay + ZTE Axon 7 - SPay Thinks Device is Rooted...it's not

Hello,
I have my S3 paired to my ZTE Axon 7. My Axon 7 is running the stock Nougat 7.1.1 B25 ROM. It is not rooted at all and passes safetynet check.
Samsung Pay was working just fine until a recent update. Now Samsung Pay is telling me that it cannot run on a rooted device. Again, my Axon 7 is stock ROM and is not rooted. If I revert back to the old Samsung Pay, it launches and runs fine. However, it forces me to upgrade to the latest version when I launch SPay from my S3.
I'm trying to figure out if anyone else is having this issue with Samsung Pay or if it's just with the Axon 7 or Nougat 7.1.1 or some other factor. I think my next step may be to downgrade my Axon 7 back to MM and test SPay.
Thanks,

same issue
I have the exact same issue with my axon 7, it seems to work on my gear s3 but the phone app (within gear app) says I'm rooted despite my axon being stock and passing safety net tests (now, for a while that was hit and miss until Google updated it again). I'm guessing i just have to wait till sPay has another update that uses a newer safety net check or something. But did you ever figure out how to fix your problem?

Bleachigo,
I have SPay working following the advice on this thread:
https://community.zteusa.com/discussion/15273
In summary you have to get SPay downgraded on both your S3 and on your phone to version 1.2.5202 and then turn off the auto-update for your Samsung apps. To downgrade SPay on your S3 you might have to reset it to factory default. There is a link to download the version of SPay that works in the thread on zteusa above.

Samsung Pay on the S3 + Huawei Mate 9

Hi all,
Im thinking of buying the Gear S3 here in the UK. I feel its finally worth it now that Samsung Pay is available, however I have seen other threads where people have been able to set up samsung pay on the watch with out a samsung phone. I am currently using the Huawei Mate 9, if i got the S3 how simple is it to set up samsung pay and how do you do it?
Many Thanks
Not sure about the Hauawei, however I have the S3 Samsung Pay working with Axon 7 running 7.1.1. Note: you have to run an earlier version of SPAY to get it to work. Refer to this thread. https://community.zteusa.com/message/121760?et=watches.email.thread#comment-121760

I have it working on a Blackberry Priv running Marshmallow.
I have a Chinese Mate 9 with flashed European ROM and am using Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 with NO problems.

Cricket Wireless - 3G compatible devices getting axed?

Hi, I just tried taking my Cricket SIM card out of my OnePlus 7 Pro and putting it in another phone, and after I returned it to the 7 Pro, I got a notification that my line was suspended. So I proceeded to call Cricket customer service and asked why this had happened.. They said that the Network is changing to 5G and that this phone(the OnePlus 7 Pro) was no longer going to be supported after Feb 2022 because the 7 Pro is considered to be a 3G compatible phone and that all 3G compatible devices will no longer work after that date.
My question is: Are all carriers doing this? If not, What are the Carriers that will remain 3G-Backwards-Compatible?? I really do not want to buy a new phone as I bought this 7 Pro for over 600 bucks. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

OnePlus 7 OOS11 Update Not Recognized by AT&T

Hello, I am using a OnePlus 7 model GM1901 (Indian model). I am using it in the USA with AT&T. As long as it was running OOS10 AT&T would recognize my phone, even though they did not technically support it. Once I upgraded to OOS11 it no longer was recognized. Clearly this is a software issue, but I am not sure where to look to address it. Rolling back to OOS10 (beta) worked.
On a related note, AT&T is moving to 4g and is going to stop supporting the GM1901 model in Feb. 2022, but they will support the GM1904. Is there any way to bypass this restriction. They have almost all the same bands.
Thank you!
