Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub...
What is R?
Our release of Android 11, titled CR-9.0.
It provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. R delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! As always, make sure to do backups.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has addressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
3) Join our Discord server or Telegram group! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
Install Instructions:
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS stable build on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
The easiest way to do that is by installing the latest Version and then copy it by flashing the copy-partitions script made by LineageOS in the recovery. (See install Instructions for the recovery)
The recommended way to install is using the CarbonRecovery linked below.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to recovery by flashing the boot.img using
Code:
fastboot flash boot guacamole-YYYYMMDD-HHMM-boot.img
followed by booting to recovery through the bootloader.
Sideload the ROM. (Apply Update -> Apply from ADB -> Connect to PC ->
Code:
adb sideload CARBON-CR-9.0-R-WEEKLY-guacamole-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps/MicroG through sideload like above (optional)
Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset (Make sure to have a backup of your data)
Done
Followup builds can be updated through the builtin CarbonDelta Updater or by dirtyflashing.

Yes, I'm on lastest A11 firmware.

Hello, thank you for this great job. I find the latest official version of TWRP on my Oneplus 7Pro with decrypted data, using custom ROM with OOS 11 blobs, could I install CarbonROM from my TWRP and then install Dm-Verity to avoid encryption? Thanks.

The best would be to check the small Gallery on our Homepage, that pretty much documents the features. For remaining questions, just ask and we'll so our best to answer.

Will you let me compile at least one ROM? You are building every existing ROM
Will test it now.
Thanks for your hard work, and if you plan to compile halogenOS then include me on that one, coz I'm thinking to build it for Honor 8, and I would like to collaborate on that one.
Edit: nope doesn't work..
Will Android pay work on this rom? Is this room not rooted?
Susbstratum is not working.

Wow! I used to use CarbonROM on my OnePlus One back in the day. Nice work bringing it officially!
doesn't support flashing on encrypted devices ;(
How does it compare to ResurrectionRemix? I'm eyeballing alternatives to RR that sport signature spoofing and CarbonROM seems like a good candidate.

I played with this ROM for 30mins or so earlier when I was choosing to go with CarbonROM or DU 13.1 and it has some nice features.
Not nearly as many as HavocOS for examples but a good amount of the core ones you expect.

Nopes! I'll wait before flashing it then. At this point, I'd hope every Pie ROM has that patch but I understand Carbon is still new to this device on Pie and the maintainer must have missed that patch. Thanks a ton for answering my query!
Might be nice to include a link to CarbonROM website as mentioned in the OP.

As I said, 10.3.2 is the recommended vendor.
As I do not have the device myself I cannot debug the fingerprint issue easily.

Sorry, I wasn't rushing you. I'm currently backing up now, so excited
OK I'm writing this as I do it:
Was MIUI 10.3.2 as recommended. Also used TWRP 3.2.3-1020 by L.R.team
Wiped DATA, formatted data, then formatted Dalvik/ART Cache + system + cache, Flashed ROM, Flashed gapps pico. Reboot.
At first I got a bootloop, but then I rebooted into recovery and tried to reboot into fastboot, but then I "accidentally" rooted (believe it or not). And then I got to the splash screen. Then it said that "my vendor image does not match the system. Please flash the O11019 vendor image for your device." (This might be because of my root, MIUI gave a similar error (system error, etc)., I pressed OK, my phone started to encrypt itself, and then 30 seconds later, it rebooted.
First boot took 60 seconds only. Setup was easy and went smoothly.
Camera (picture+video), hotspot, all working. It seems to be stable. (Except fingerprint ofc) Calls working fine
Thank you so much for this! I will test battery life after installing greenify overnight.
EDIT:
I take this back. OUTGOING calls work fine, but INCOMING calls do not work. INCOMING and OUTGOING TEXTS (SMS) DO NOT work..
Sorry for the confusion. At the moment I can't see any more bugs. After I get CarbonROM setup and everything I'll make a full backup, then revert to MIUI for the moment.
Still, thank you for your development, I may search around the forums for a solution. This issue was common on other custom roms for ther edmi 6
One more edit: Apparantly LTE was causing issues. I changed to 3G and everything is fixed. But now I can't select LTE again. (Mobile Network>Preferred Network Type)

One more edit: Apparantly LTE was causing issues. I changed to 3G and everything is fixed. But now I can't select LTE again. (Mobile Network>Preferred Network Type)

No, it hasn't evolved at all. We had to apply lots of hacks to get RIL working...

New update!
July security patch. As CarbonROM doesn't support Oreo anymore, I had to manually patch the update into the ROM's sources. Thanks to LineageOS for providing the patches.
I'm working hard on trying to get USSD, incoming calls and SMS fixed.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled ROMs, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best ROM we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to recovery using
Code:
fastboot boot instantnoodle-YYYYMMDD-HHMM-recovery.img
Sideload the ROM. (Apply Update -> Apply from ADB -> Connect to PC ->
Code:
adb sideload CARBON-CR-9.0-R-WEEKLY-instantnoodle-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps/MicroG through sideload like above (optional)
Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset (Make sure to have a backup of your data)
Done
Followup builds can be updated through the builtin CarbonDelta Updater or by dirtyflashing.

Weird and glitch on my IN2017 with Bluetooth. Bluetooth devices sometimes refuse to automatically connect, especially my Pixel Buds A-Series. Bluetooth turns itself off and on repeatedly, sometimes gives a prompt that it keeps force-stopping. Connection sometimes works only if I manually press connect. Not totally sure how to record logs, but can do if necessary. On latest update as of posting (9/29).
Hi there is a lot of compilation on OP8, who is building it ? Buildbot?

Awesome news, thank you. I am presently on Android 13, do I need to flash Feb stock images first or can I just flash Bliss images?

Yeah, it doesn't say much? Clicking "Features" just goes to index.html, where there's not a lot of information about features ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The safest route would probably indeed be to flash stock A12, then flash BlissRom.
This is presently Feb?

Based on the filename, yes.
From what I've gathered, v15.x indicates that it is Android 12, and 15.1 is January update, 15.2 is February. I assume version numbers will continue following that theme.

All joking aside. I have not flashed this one yet. I'm about to when I get a chance. Hopefully me or someone else here can help. You. Might be as simple as editing APN settings if that's possible

well yes you can see I'm not one for grammar in such but yeah thanks. I tried the APN thing that's not it i dont believe. Don't know if this caught the problem but I ran this for a bit. If that will help determine what my problem is I looked it over many times but I don't know what I'm looking for exactly I just need a nudge in the right direction.
