I have had my Verizon Galaxy S4 since February of this year. I've been using the stock Samsung AC charger that came with it. It's always charged the phone pretty fast if I wasn't using the phone. It would charge about 15% in 20 minutes. Now it's only charging about 3 or 4% in 20 or 30 minutes. Now I didn't do anything different to my phone. I've been on this same ROM for over a month and this is just now a problem in the last week. My wife has the exact phone and charger that I have and when I use her charger it charges just as rapidly as mine used to, so I know it's not the usb port on my phone itself. I haven't dropped or damaged my charger at all in any way either.
Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?
If it charges fast on you wife's charger you've pretty much answered your own question.
Try using her cable with your charger, if it still charges slow then get a new charger.

Ok, I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
I had the same problem too ! Did a full battery reset and everything is going good now !
You have to charge it for 12 hours and drain your battery until your phone don't boot. Charge it and here you are !
Yeah these devices act funky every blue moon. My wifes didn't even recognize ANY oem charger for a week. Only detected others as USB devices causing slow charge rate. Removing dust, component cleaner, fresh install, all did no good. Eventually it just resolved the issue itself. All chargers work normally again.
change the usb cables
I also had the same problem before. I'd been using the original charger and usb cable and noticed that charging takes a lot of time than normal.
I found that it's on the usb cable. I accidentally found it when I used gsam battery monitor. It displays the current being received by your phone when charging. Using the original usb cable, it only gets around 600mah. I tried another usb cable (from a previous Samsung device) and now my phone gets 1,900mah (closed to the charger output of 2,000 mah).
Every since I changed the usb cable, my charging is fast now. Hope this helps.
I would try a new cable and Charger that is rated 2.1 amps or better if will be charged real quick

I noticed that using the Pure Nexus rom my charging time became significantly faster. In fact I can get a full charge from nearly dead in just over an hour. This is using the charger and cable that came with the phone.

How do you make full battery reset?
The charging rate is based on the output rating of the charger, which is determined by the resistance value between the Data+ and Data- USB pins. If you use a cheap cable with high(er) internal cabling resistance, that will throw off the detected charger output capacity rating, and knock you down to a lower charging current and longer charging time.
Also, one time, even with the original charger and original cable, I couldn't charge at anything more than the default USB 500mA. I ended up having to power off the phone, and power it on again, which fixed the charging current and speed problem.
Install this app & check if it is getting charged at max current; anything less than 1200 mA when screen on & 1900 mA when screen off, you need to change your cable or charger

I read somewhere that if you activate airplane mode the battery is charging faster.
I'm not sure which one has an issue, it could be my 1+ cable, the phone's battery, or the 1+ AC charger.
Basically, my 1+ cable no longer charges my phone when connected to the 1+ AC Charger. But works fine when using my powerbank. So I am assuming that my 1+ cable is defective. So swap cables, now using my Nexus 5 Cable and it charges my phone using the 1+ AC charger, but its very slow. I checked on batter monitor its only maxing out upto 1.7A then reaches 80% charge, it went down to only less than 1A (800mah). Is that normal? Or the 1+ ac charger is defective?
I also noticed that previously when using the 1+ cable and 1+ ac charger, my phone charges up so fast. It can finish charging in 1.5 hours. But not its 3-4 hours to fully charge.
So I'm confused now which is which or maybe the phone's battery is defective? Hope someone can shed light onto my issue. Thanks! :good:
Ok, so I have my Nexus 5 for about 8 months, but the charger that came with it doesn't work properly anymore.
Just after I got it, and few months later, the charger worked pretty well, and I also have a small amp meter that is connected into charger's usb port to measure Volts, amps and mAh, and when new, it pushed about 1.7 amps of current (it is rated to 1.8), and charged the phone in about hour and a half from 5% to 100%. Right now, the charger gives only 0.4-0.5 ams of current and charging time varies from 3 to 3.5 hours!
Has anyone experienced this problem?
Is an LG G2 (2.2amp) or G3 charger safe to use, as I tried G2 before and it charged the battery in less than an hour, without heating the device.
Also, I frequently leave my charger plugged in wall socket all day long, and it's plugged in without using more than it is plugged out (just when carrying it somewhere). Maybe that's why it degraded over time...
I've bought myself a used OP6 yesterday, updated it to 9.0.5 and have been experiencing a issue where if im using my phone whilst charging it doesn't go over 80%, but if i leave it for the night it charges normally. Im using a original dash charger but not a original cable.
Original cable only give you the option of fast charge until 80%, after it charges normally...
Try with other cable. You can find original cable at Banggood.
Hello Everyone ,i updated my device to android 10.0.1.Yesterday my mobile has been switched off due to low battery. So when i plug the charger to the phone the slow charging issue back.It takes 4 hours to charge my phone to 75% and i was too worried to see this.So i had to unplug the charger again and again the warp doesn't work.It just normally charge the phone. However once the battery reaches to 85% the charger automatically switch back to warp charging. So i tired again draining my battery from 95% to 20% and when i charge the phone it charges the phone at normal charging so i had to plug and unplug again and again to get the warp charging back and after couple of minutes the warp charging automatically switch back to normal charging.Once the battery charges upto 80% then the warp charging came back and charges the phone without any issues.i was so worried that the phone just 25 days old and i facing this*problem from the day i bought.im facing the same issues in Android pie also.Any help will greatly appreciated!

Looks like one-off issue. I have warp charging regardless of the battery level. As a one last attempt, try doing a factory reset...it might solve the issue...
I already tired factory reset and i eventually tried downgrading.but I'm not encountering the issue very few times compare tto android 10.
