Not that I know of. I think it's a good idea to get a fresh start and flash the full firmware.

Yeah I ended up having to do that anyway. I found out that you can just extract the .tar.md5 file and use Odin to flash the modem.bin and sbin.bin files directly, but I had borked something up and my phone wouldn't shut down from the power menu (this just soft-rebooted the OS), so I decided to go ahead and do a full flash.
Everything seems to be working fine now on Jovy's rooted, deodexed, de-KNOX'd ROM - complete with current bootloader and modem.

Just a basic ROM, Deodexed and Rooted. Probably requires updating to the N920TUVS4DPH2 modem and bootloader.
ROM is compatible with the ViPER sound mods in this thread. However, a permissive kernel will be needed. The stock kernel is not permissive.
Anyone is welcome to use this as a base, no permission required, but credit would be nice.
Kernel is Stock Samsung, no source.

I would recommend doing a backup of your original rom stock before doing something from the TWRP recovery, that way you can return to your factory rom easier
You have right now stock 6.0.1 right?
like a nandroid back up ? not sure how to do that I have allways just flashed dl copy of the stock rom
How ever that asside do you have any custom roms to recomend? Do they need to match exactly my model number ? G920W8VLU4CPG2 or will any rom for g920 work?

I'm currently on a nougat tw rom and want to downgrade and flash a marshmallow rom to test some things. Do i need to reflash everything via odin or just mm bl and cp that can be done by flashing a mm rom without pc?
Same here I just updated to Nougat and wish to downgrade back to Marshmallow 6.0.1
Galaxy S7 930U Unlocked USA - back to stock rom.
What ROM are you looking to flash? In most cases in the Aroma installer the dev's provide you with the appropriate dated modem and bootloader without you having to do anything yourself.
Im always switching between SuperMan Nougat and SuperMan Marshmallow.
Wanting to go back to factory image on my Galaxy S7 930U unlocked.

Oh cool. Ok thanks for the info bro! That clarified my question. ?
I have XsteStoLite Rom (6.0.1) installed over stock 6.0.1 and I want to upgrade to a Nougat custom ROM. However, my device does not have the stock 7.0 firmware out yet (if it will ever get released). Do I need to flash a stock 7.0 firmware from another country to serve as base ROM (kernel, other stuff) or can I flash Nougat custom ROMs on top of stock 6.0.1? Thanks.
No, Marshmallow and Nougat uses the same bootloader so you dont have to update ota

If b380 required you cannot flash it on b350.. It will cause some issues..
You can unroot. Flash stock recovery and update to b381..
And then flash twrp and flash custom rom..
no need to install b380 update, just install twrp recovery and install roms.i have tested rros, lineage os and aosp oreo rom. They all work fine

No you dont have to flash files all over again...
Just restore stock backup if you do t like custom roms..
Rommco05 said:
Flashing backup can help only for restore phone because if you use twrp backup your will not work camera, bluetooth etc. For restore stock you need to flash full firmware (PV) over twrp. But make backup anyway just for case
